Chapter nine: I keep remembering

It happened one day when summer was beginning to say goodbye to New York City ...

It had been a tiring day, the sun was setting and Esteban's thirty-minute break began with the melody that slowly resounded in the establishment, it was a ballad of some famous Korean group whose name he did not know, much less what. he said he, but something in the voices of the members made him sigh calmly, it was relaxing for the mind of him that had been active during the night before and all day today.

He leaned back at one of the tables, in front of Bob one of the employees brought him a cappuccino, for which he appreciated the gesture since the employees did not have to pay for one or two coffees that they consumed at recess and that was something. Esteban would always be a bit happy, he loved hot and sparkling coffee, but it was special with the type of drink he drank, that's why the American he received from a client was not something he liked very much ...

Not that he was an ungrateful person, but everything was very strange to him, the boy would ask for him, he gave him a coffee and to top it off ... he had left him too much money, which he did. He doesn't dare to play after getting home, he may seem like a fool or be exaggerating with everything, but he really wasn't a fan of this kind of thing.

"Why give me so much if I didn't do anything?" That question he rolled and rolled through his head for the past three days, the mysterious supposed frequent customer had not appeared at the scene in that time and Esteban was not sure if he felt good about it. Where he came from, no one gave anything for absolutely nothing, there was always a price, one way or another, that's why he disliked favors or simple charity too much.

—"Esteban, don't you want to go have a drink with us after closing?" — Suddenly Emma called out to him, her hair was down this time, her eyes were still wide and the smile from ear to ear did not leave her face for almost a moment.

—"Shall we celebrate something?" — The question, normally he would not go anywhere, the university consumed him, as well as the same work, and the little time he had free he used to rest as much as he could, but now it was different ... he decided to take a break from the studies, while you think about leaving the law degree.

—"No, but my birthday was a few weeks ago, so let's use that as an excuse" — He smiled, then Esteban also wanted to laugh a little, but he didn't come out, he never smiled naturally, even if he wanted to, his face was expressionless.

—"That's a good excuse," — Bob approached, this five foot four boy was a beta who seemed to be a little more than in love with Emma's lovely looks, he had been working on the place for about three months and at first she thought Esteban and Emma had more than just a cute coworker relationship until she found out that Esteban was omega and Emma was too. As if the omegas could not fall in love with each other, although in reality it did not take long if so, there was a possibility, but Esteban was not going to inquire about something like that, it was uncomfortable to talk about a romance of any kind for him.

—Then? — Emma returned his attention, it seemed that she had finished the talk she had with Bob.

—"I think it would be nice." — They sighed, to which Emma applauded with delight.

—"So it's a date between the three of us." — She also glanced at Bob, who is leaning over the mop, dreaming of the joy Emma radiates. "What a girl she envies" ... The weight on that when he rang the door with the arrival of a new client.

-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -

The place closed at just 10:30 at night, and the small group of three walked the cool city streets in search of a good pub to hang out, Emma commented on good places but in the end it was Bob who suggested going to a place where the owner was a close friend, the place was better than you would expect for a small bar, it was comfortable and despite the weather it was not crowded as you would expect, maybe because it was Thursday midweek when the people still had to meet a work schedule.

The music was not very loud either, and the air conditioning was also pleasant, Esteban found everything too good to be true, he was not one of those who went out all the time, in fact, it was the first time in months that he relaxed a little away from home.

—"What do you like to drink, Esteban?" — The aforementioned blink as his mind reboots, uh, was it a good idea to say right now that he, had no idea about alcoholic beverages? He simply knew vodka, beer and tequila, he did not know anything about prepared drinks, a cocktail was what came to mind, but he did not want to approach one because he did not like the appearance, he remembered things that he needed that's when it's close to one.

—"I don't drink much alcohol," — she finally said. — "Is there any other drink?"

—"We have fruit juices." — The bartender had an amused smile, Esteban didn't dislike the man. Emma frowned as she ordered a "margarita," and Bob was on the other side of the bar, as he greeted what seemed to be that friend I mention, who owns the place.

—You come to a place and you don't drink alcohol, without a doubt you're a little sweet Esteban — Emma said, to which the aforementioned observed her with a kind look, Emma was a good girl who seemed to understand and not be bothered by the sneaky behavior she possessed Esteban.

—"I think I get drunk too soon?" — It was a pathetic excuse, but it was not out of reality.

—"Guys." — It was Bob approaching with an unknown man whose dominant aura could be seen from afar. — This is my friend Geovani, he is the manager and owner of the premises.

The man was a little taller than Bob, his smile was manly and despite what would be expected of a dominant, his body was thinner than average, he wore glasses and his hair was tousled and curly, Esteban had a bit of it. Funny, he seemed to be the kind of alpha that no one would look for because of his messy or rather laid-back appearance.

—"It's a pleasure, I'm Emma and this is Esteban, we are Bob's co-workers."— As always, Emma was the quickest to speak, so Esteban simply nodded with tight lips, trying to sound as friendly as possible, although He didn't know if it had worked, the alpha's face was smooth, and he smiled at him when his hands clenched in greeting.

—"It's a pleasure, I hope you enjoy the place, there are not many people today," —he said softly.

—"Oh, but the place is great." — Again Emma.

—"Actually, it's nicer that way," — Esteban said as he thanked her for the drink. — It allows you to contemplate the place much better ... it is quite cozy.

—"Thanks, I try my best to make people feel good, not everything has to be noise and crowding in a bar, right?" — Esteban nodded, to which Geovani smiled. — Oh, some friends will come in a while, if they like we can all be together for a while since the place is not full. They usually come when there are not many people, I think they feel drowned when there are.

Esteban knew that feeling, the drink fell sweetly in his throat, but he did not want to stay long ... and he was not so interested in the people who would arrive, so he was thinking about how to get away for a while.

—Oh, speaking of the devil - Well, it seemed to be a bit late, because when Geovani spoke, a couple of tall people were approaching them while the first one made a sign and shouted "this way", their appearance did not call Esteban's full attention, so he deliberately ignored everything he could.

However, he did not expect to meet someone strange that night ... and, the strange man of that day was in front of him with a surprised face, but still with that smile that made him tremble uncomfortably ...

Wow ... this was a stupid coincidence, right?
