Neon ppallippalli daedapal pillyon eopseo

Eochapi nae geonikka, ooh

He rolled his right elbow to make a circle. He darted to the right to make finger guns on the bass and gave a small hip thrust. On "Eochapi nae", he rocked back and forth with his arms flexing above his head, and then brought it together to his chest and let it slide for a moment.

"He's doing a cover of "Not Shy", not bad Ji-hun." Annie commented, "he's got good tastes. By the way, what song are you performing Akira?"

"If I told you, that would ruin the surprise. And no, we're not trading song info." I shut her down immediately. Annie looked a bit surprised; she raised her finger to object, but gave it up. We both watched in silence.

Nal bogo itgiman hamyeon dwae

Yeah, you will like it, 'cause you like it, 'cause you like it, like it.

Ji-hun got to the ground, and tried to match as many beats as possible, but it looked a bit off tempo. He quickly regained his composure and rose up. He extended his right arm outwards and bent his left elbow. Ji-hun traveled around the stage like he was parading himself. The crowd is loving it so far, they got loud when he did some ground work.

Naega miwo aniramyeon biwo

Dareun geon da jiwo ne only one, yeah

Geunyang ssak jiwo ssak-ssak-ssak-ssak-ssak

Not shy to say I want you

Ji-hun pointed to the sky as he marched in place; he used that same arm to whip it around at the top of his head. Both of his arms came down and started to point at himself. Instead of dropping to the ground again, he freestyled for two eight counts.

Hey there, hey there

Urineun great pair, great pair

Ne mami mwonji moreujiman

Nae saenggagi maja geureonikka

He slowly turned towards the audience while giving subtle glances towards my direction. He flexed his arms, and brought each arm to his shoulders. Okay, he's on a roll, he did not mess up on this verse.

Yeah yeah, nae mameun nae geo geureonikka

Joahandago jayunikka

Ne mameun ne geo majeunikka

Malhaebwa da eoseo da 'cause I'm not shy

He adjusted his head to "yeah, yeah", so he tilted his head upwards two times. He skipped to his right and brought up his left arm to brush off his shoulder. He tried rolling his hips but only rolled side to side.

"I won't nitpick as much, but he led with the wrong arm, and the hip work was okay." Annie spoke. She's right, this part is where ITZY hits their shoulder with their right arm first, but he's doing the arm movements the opposite way. He can still finish strong, this next part is the chorus which should be easy for him.

Not shy, not me (ITZY)

Nan da wonhae dada (Not shy)

Not shy, not me

Give me da dadada dada dada

He darted to his left side and brought his arms up, then pulled them back down to his side and simultaneously brought his left leg up. After that, his right palm covered his mouth. He brought it around and then brought it back to roll his wrists. When he rolled it the second time, his left leg mimicked the movement. He brought both of his hands in front of him and flicked in front of him twice. Next, Ji-hun pushed off with different palms and slowly brought his hands up while having his leg move side to side. He got his torso rolling around and around.

Not shy, not me (ITZY)

Nan da wonhae dada (Not shy)

Not shy, not me

Neoreul wonhae mwo eottae 'cause I'm not shy

He was bouncing on his feet on the "ITZY" ad lib and then rolled his head around. His arms hit the snares two-three times, and he flexed his palms and pointed towards the idol group. Both the crowd and the idols were cheering and clapping for Ji-hun. You're almost there, keep it up.

Ji-hun fixed his red hat and started to groove a bit. His forearms kept on interchanging positions until it made a screen pattern. He used his one palm to point down and the other hand pointing up. To finish things up, he put both his hands over his mouth and raised his right leg. He brought his leg down into a stomp and slowly crouched down with his leg.

Annie and I clapped. Ji-hun will have my respect for facing his anxiousness head-on. Annie nodded in approval; she had this stank face and told me how the stomp was loud and clear. No ratings are necessary on the performance; it does not change the fact Ji-hun performed in front of thousands of fans and ITZY themselves. He stopped for a minute to catch his breath, soon, he ran towards me. He raised both of his hands into a thumbs up. Annie and I responded in kind.

From where I'm standing, I can hear Minji and Hyo-joo cheering for Ji-hun.

"That was so cool Ji-huuuun good job! Let's GO!!" Hyo-joo screamed.

"Whoa, you aren't half bad at all! Well done!" Minji exclaimed loudly. Ji-hun snorted and shot her a dirty look. He couldn't maintain the look forever, so he broke into a laughing fit.

"Dang, do you guys hear that? The audience members liked it, ITZY group liked it, and-." Ji-hun's voice was stuck in his throat when he made eye contact with a different ITZY member. She walked up and gave him a hug. "R-R-Ryujin...! Thank you!"

Her pink hair reaches to her shoulder blades; her red lipstick matches the blush on Ji-hun's face, and to top it all off, her relaxed black eyes give her that demure look. However, her expression tells a different story, the look of a proud friend.

"You did an awesome job on our cover, it needs some cleaning, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed by your freestyle and improvisation. Thank you Ji-hun," Ryujin raised her microphone to her lips. "Give it up for Ji-huns performance!" The crowd let out another series of cheers and claps for his performance, making Ji-hun even more sheepish. He rubbed his head and looked down in embarrassment. Something tells me he will remember his performance forever.

"We have two more performances left to go, Annie says she will be going second. Her requested song will be 'Want It?' and would like to perform her own rendition with some of ITZYs magic touch." Ryujin looked at Annie with a knowing smile. "I also want to thank the crowd for being very polite, please encourage them again. We are happy with the performance!" Ryujin fixed her hair, and then looked at Annie, "alright Annie, whenever you are ready, give us the signal."

"Hit it." Annie snapped her fingers, and the music slowly started to play.

.o0o.

Hey jinjjal wonhae

Annie rolled her shoulders backwards on the first lyrics. As the claps started up, she moved her hands to her body and started to march with one leg.

Wa bwa mollae

Annie started to beckon the crowd towards her as she did some footwork to travel behind her, earning some oohs and aahs.

Gachi nollae

Nan neol wonhae wonhae wonhae wonhae

ITZY!

Annie decided to flex and contort her body along with the claps resounding throughout the stadium. Once the "ITZY!" sounded off. She flashed a brief smirk, and immediately got into the dance.

We gon' run this town like we ain't got no tomorrow

20 carat diamond neoneun hwak nuni meoreo

Annie's left arm was stretched out towards the idol group; her other arm did this cycling motion as she was stepping with one foot and her other foot was hopping. She timed her hops along with the drums as she traveled for five steps.. She stopped hopping for a moment, and then isolated her hips to match the drum beats for up to four counts.

Can't nobody hold us down, we fly where we wanna

Fly where we wanna haebona mana

She opened her arms into a T, to the word "fly" and skipped into a hop for two eight counts of footwork and isolation on her torso. Annie criss-crossed her legs; she transitioned into a jazz walk, and spun around to vault forward. She traveled towards the ground; her chest made a half circle before rolling her arms upwards.

We a star, Queen Boulevard, we live how we wanna

Singyeong an sseo what people think, this is our persona

Annie stopped after rolling her arms, and started to walk slowly like she was on a modelling show. She looked around her; she was pretending to be a queen and waving around her like she's in a parade. The blonde dancer dropped the queen act quickly; she did a pirouette, and then her chest pumped to each syllable of "persona". Ji-hun looked like his mouth could fall any second, his face spelled out "A-M-A-Z-I-N-G". Yeah, that's one way to lightly describe Annie's choreography.

Neo cheoeum matbon uri style, we second to nada

Hot like a lava, fresh like Havana

On this part, Annie did not perform her own choreography but added ITZYs groundwork and a hip thrust. She threw one of her arms behind her and did the same with the other. Her right hand grasped her face for a moment before letting go. She dropped down into a squatting position. Instead of sliding her hand across the floor, she instead walked it with her fingers. She stood up quickly and did a turn; she bent to the side and flashed the idol group a smile. I can tell they really, really liked that one, two of the idols had their mouths open and were talking to each other in excitement.

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, woo!

Annie quickly got everyone's attention back by holding up each finger to match five of the first "la's" and then did a wavy motion to her arm. Annie turned her attention to her right arm and did the same thing. She punched the air in front of her, and rolled her body to the exclaimed "woo!"

"Dude... are you seeing this? That's a, she is an awesome dancer!" Ji-hun muttered.

"Not quite," I replied as I looked on. Ji-hun looked at me for an explanation. "She's not just a dancer, she's an artist Ji-hun."

Hey jinjjal wonhae

Wa bwa mollae

Gachi nollae

Nan neol wonhae wonhae wonhae wonhae

Her finishing touches were matching ITZYs original choreography. However, near the end of "wonhae", she dropped down into the splits. She moved a bit while in the splitting position and snapped her fingers above her head; she gave the roaring audience a dramatic diva pose.

What a performance by Annie.

The crowd gave Annie a round of applause for her rendition. The ITZY idols joined too, they were excited about the whole choreography. Yeji wiped fake tears, she looks like a proud mother. The Wansan-gu blondie has impressed everyone. Ji-hun gave her a deep clap.

"You are so good Annie! WHAAAAT?!" Ji-hun couldn't believe what he was seeing. Annie got up from her splits, she got up to my face and pressed her finger into my chest.

"Your turn Akira, now you got me worked up for a peek at your choreography." Annie grinned at me. I gently took her finger off me and pushed it to the side.

"I know what I'm doing, you don't need to worry about me. You did very well Annie," I commented. The blonde bun playfully punched me in the arm and sat down on the stage. Ji-hun was confused and almost pained as Annie ignored his praises. "Hey Akira, looks like Yeji and Yuna are coming our way." Annie pointed to the direction where they were coming from.

Ah this Yuna person must be tall girl #2. She has very long black hair, her onyx-black eyes are big, her lips are curved up in a grin as Yeji gave Annie a hug. It sounded corny but both of them yelled "Wansan-gu power!". Maybe the both of them can make a track about powering up. Wait- that's already taken.

Soon, Yunas gaze met mines. We gave each other a momnetary stare. I bowed to her, and tipped my bucket hat afterwards. She bowed in reply. Yeji handed the microphone to Yuna, looks like it's her turn being the announcer.

"Wow guys, just... wow. Annie, you have done really well, maybe the power of Wansan-gu is real." Yuna joked. The crowd laughed along to the joke. "Jokes aside, that was a good performance, we've been clapping for the dancers, but I have to thank you all for being respectful. And I hope you can show the same respect to our last performer."

I felt all eyes on me, I can hear Minji saying, "it's about time!". Minji aside, I have made up my mind on what I'm going to perform. I craned my neck as I made eye contact with Yuna. Every idol up close are very gorgeous. Having the looks, getting to dance, and being able to sing must be the whole package for Kpop idols. Now, I have the opportunity to entertain the audience, the whole world, and the idol group. I did not have second thoughts, but I forgot to mention something clear to Minji during our altercation before the show.

I'm not doing this for the sake of others. I'm doing this on a whim, and apparently, I am the best person for the job. Was this a twist of fate? I never was the type to perform in large crowds, I'd much prefer to work in a studio or choosing when to perform. I commend both Minji and Ji-hun on their efforts to stake the foolishness in my heart. So in return, I gave them my word for a performance they won't ever forget, and of course, a debt to collect from them. The entertainment value will come with the dance.

"So Akira, there's been two great performers that just put up one hell of a show. Both of them have been entertaining and impressed everyone in this stadium. How do you feel?" Yuna asked. What is this some post game interview conference? I adjusted my hat to get a good look at her, so my bucket hat doesn't cover my eyes from her point of view.

"I feel fine." It was a brief comment but it was how I truly felt. This got her to giggle a bit, Ji-hun couldn't believe me for saying something brief with a straight face. Annie laughed as well.

"Um, that's it?" Yuna asked to make sure if that was all. She has a puzzled look on her face.

"I am impressed with Ji-hun's efforts on covering 'Icy' and how Annie was able to add some of her own special touches to the choreography. However, these two have not discouraged me from participating. I feel more motivated to execute my choreography to the best of my abilities, I guess it will be fun." I said, "I assume you would like to know which song I will be performing?"

Yuna raised an eyebrow, she was nodding in approval and was feeling my vibe.

"YEAH HE'S GONNA KILL IT!!"

"Aren't you a smooth criminal?" She winked. "Now you got me even more curious, and it sounds like you have a huge fan."

"Hah. Unfortunately yes, they have been waiting for bit." I rolled my eyes, "however, I will not disappoint them and neither everyone here." Yuna nodded and then clapped at my not-so subtle jab at Minji. Call me demonic, but walking off stage and not performing might set a few screws loose on Minji.

*Hmm, no. That is too mean, I will show mercy to her this time.*

"You're quite good with your mouth and speech Akira." Yuna commented.

"But enough of that, so, what song will you be dancing to?" Yuna asked the question of the night. I hummed a bit and then I gave her my answer.

"I would like to get a headstart. Put me on your "tto achimi balgatseumnida" part. I will be dancing 'In the Morning' aka Mafia, I hope you and your friends will like it." I walked past Yuna as she blinked in my direction. I made way to the center stage and straightened out my clothes.

"Give us a signal whenever you are ready Akira, good luck." Yuna and Ryujin took their seats. When they were properly sitting down, I stood upstraight with my arms forming an "X" over my whole torso as my initial position. I turned my head towards the idol group and then nodded.

*I won't be needing luck*

Nuguilkka mafia?

For now, I am grooving with the music. It's important to be in the mindset on following with the dance's energy or vibe. No one wants to see something mediocre before the song starts. When the verse 2, that's when I will strike. The double bass got me to step once and immediately brought my heels facing upwards, then burrowing my toes into the floor. "Nu-gu-ilk-ka ma-pi-a?" I put up my left forearm up and bent my wrist to the word nugu. I made it wavy to "ilk-ka" and beat my chest with both hands along the syllables of mafia. I clapped my hands together three times to match the beat, and then brought them together to hit the two rapid beats with my shoulder. After the first "nuguilkka mafia?" I took my position by laying down face first and lifted my left leg slightly up, this move is callled the "rise up", and I rise up right when Yunas verse started.

Baeuboda deo baeu

Neukdae gajigo noneun yeou (No)

I turned my face to Minji's sign immediately (baeu), my head moved so fast I got her and Hyo-joo startled. My chest pumped twice (bo-da), I brought both of the arms up in a fast one-two count and then slowly let them fall down (deo bae-u). I made each of my shoulders go up and down to each syllable (neuk-dae). My left foot moved to the side (ga-ji-go) three times, and soon, my right leg slid to my left (noneun ye-). I isolated my right foot, it was standing upright and then, I gave my whole right leg a little wiggle (-ou).

Jeonhyeo an boigetji clue (Ah-hah)

Hajiman naegen da gyehoegi itdago go (Brrrah!)

This next part is very subtle, the instrument sounded like someone dropped a pencil on a set of dominoes, it comes right after "yeou". I made my left hand travel up like it was shaking until I put my whole palm onto the side of my chin. I pushed up my chin twice to match the double bass drops (jeonhyeo). I removed my left hand (an boigetji) and brought it to my left temple. So, I twirled my finger in a circular motion (clue). I bent my head to the side and straightened my head afterwards (ah-hah).

My body was cooperating with me smoothly. I thought about switching some of my moves around, I already danced to this song but Minji's overreaction said otherwise. If she was that impressed with my choreography, no need to change it. I'm more inclined to dance since the piece I made was on the advanced side, but I made sure there was a breakpoint in the middle of my choreography to ease up a bit. The main things I can say about my choreography is: hitting the specific parts of lyrics and instruments, smooth transitions, and empowerment to myself and to the spectators. Speaking of the spectators, they were cheering but now, they've gone silent. Perfect, they are paying close attention to me.

Right when Yuna started to ramp up her rapping on her second line, I started to get hyped as well. I brought both of my hands up into a finger-gun, and started to throw them in front of me two times. My legs also corresponded with my arm movements and started to bounce. As I spread out my arms while holding the finger-gun motion, my left foot was leading out and I was leaning onto my right foot. I brought all four of my limbs together, right after I gathered myself, I smoothly spinned around. The crowd "ooh'd", they started to clap for me. This is where I transition to Yejis and Ryujins incoming verse.

Geuman meomunmeomutdae seulseul jakjeon gaesi

Neoreul ppaeseo ppaeseo ppaeseo like a caper movie, ready?

I stepped with my heel two times to match the "geuman" and the double bass. I started to groove a bit with my arms interchanging directions, going in opposite up-and-down directions. While I was moving, I had my legs shimmy to the left as I was moving my arms. I sharply gripped my chin with my right hand and sharply moved it diagonally to my right (ppaeseo, beat). I closed my right hand into a fist as I moved it on top of my chest and sharply moved it diagonally to my right (ppaeseo, beat). Finally, I turned my closed fist sideways and moved to my side, it looks like I'm gripping the stick-shift in a car (ppaeseo, beat). I leaned my upper body back and then marched in place. Lastly, my left hand grabbed the air and threw it away (like a caper movie, ready?). That felt really satisfying to evenly match the beats, I made a point to make my right elbow to be hard-hitting. I caught a glimpse of Annie tilting her head in bewilderment, while Ji-hun is clapping really hard. Witness me.

Al su eomneun poker face (Ah)

Jeomnyeonghae ne mam sok place (Ah)

Hurry up! Baby, catch me if you can, haha!

I stopped marching in place, so I stood up straight and quickly brought my left hand in front of my face. I extended it into a open palm and brought it down in front of my Adam's apple and then up (poker face).

I snaked my right arm in a wave like I'm cracking a whip and soon, my left arm followed suit. Both of my hands held up two peace signs, one for the crowd and one for ITZY. I used both of my fingers to beckon Minji and Hyo-joo to come forward, that got them to scream for a bit (Jeomnyeonghae ne nam sok place). Before I head into the pre-chorus section, I kick-balled change for each foot (hurry up, baby). And did some footwork to finish it (catch me if you can, haha!).

Baby, hetgallyeo hetgallyeo hetgalligetji neon

Gyeolgugen nae geoya nae geoya nae ge doegetji neon

I clapped along with the songs clap for one eight count (Baby, hetgallyeo hetgallyeo...). I moonwalked in a way my feet were drawing a square, kind of like a jazz walk but with gliding movements (gyeolgugen nae geoya...).

Ije finally, finally taekal siganiya

Beolsseo eoneusae tto bami doeeotseumnida

The drums are added with the rhythmic clapping, I danced along with the drums. I spaced out my legs, I used my arms and torso to strike different poses for about 4-5 drum beats and ended with a kick with my left leg up. (Ije finally, finally taekal siganiya). I gathered myself together, and then the drum beats started to go faster. I tried my best to tip toe to each drum until I ended in a crouching position (beolsseo eoneusae tto bami doeeot-). I had my arms up and placed both of my hands on top of my bucket hat, using my forearms to hide my face. I slowly rose up during these movements: I moved my head to the right (seum), I lowered both of my arms to my stomach and then tilted my head to the left (ni), and finally, I bent my left hand into only my thumb and index are showing. I shot my right foot, it caused a fast chain reaction. My right foot quickly gave my left foot the "nothing personal kid" treatment, my right arm is bent into an elbow that forms a triangle, and it was a fast transition. I made sure to land onto the beat drop and Yeji's "I'm the mafia". I hope the cameras got a good look at my footwork and using my bent elbow like it's a opening door.

I'm the mafia

Ma-ma-ma-ma-mafia, yah

We do it like a mafia

Ring-ding-ding, ding-ding-ding

I was in a hunched position when the beat dropped, I dug my right heel into the ground, and then gave my legs a quick 1-2 kick in front of me. After my second kick, I used my momentum to make a huge turnaround and landed into me sitting on a imaginary bench with my arms crossed. A snare sounded off, I snapped out of my sitting position and hit my chest along with Yuna's "ring-dings" and I ended my chest bumps with a clap.

I'm the mafia

Ma-ma-ma-ma-mafia, yah

We do it like a mafia

Nuguilkka mafia?

I repeated my hunched position and driving my other heel into the floor. This time, I let my left foot shimmy to the right and I went along with it. I extended my left arm and bent my fingers into a gun. I made a mock gun recoil, as it traveled back to me, I made my arm travel in a half-circle. Later, my left arm went behind my head and then, my right hand was on my forehead (nuguikka). At the corner of my eye, I spotted a camera facing me. I turned my attention to it. For the last three syllables of mafia, I pulled myself towards the camera direction with each step matching the word. The end is nigh, I know I can finish this strong.

Majimak bami gipeosseo, babe

I bami jinamyeon ne gyeoten na hana, yeah, yeah

I relaxed my body, I pulled down my facemask to my chin, and gave the camera a blank stare (majimak bami). I extended my left arm and pointed it to the camera. Coincidentally, the camera I was looking at turns out to be I'm looking at ITZYs direction as well. My lips were already smirking, but it slowly turned into a devilish grin, my left finger was curling, telling the viewer to get over here (gipeosseo, babe). The rest of the lyrics, I returned my extended arm back to me. I let my digits spin into a fist, I let it creep up to my right shoulder and pulled the fabric of my shirt. And, I quickly used my right hand to put my facemask back on properly. It's time to finish this. And of course, this is my favorite part of the song and dance. I hope everyone here knows KSL.

Ma : machimnae

Pi : pihal su eomneun

A : achimi wa

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

I quickly rolled my body and got into a wide squatting position, right when my head darts to my right. I held up my left hand; it has only my index and middle finger knuckles pointing downwards (ma). My left hand flexed into a open palm, I made the minor illusion that my arm was wavy and used that wavy movement to make my head function the same way, adding emphasis to the melodic "nae~" (machimnae). I held up my right hand, it shows all four digits resting on my thumb finger (pi). I made my torso rapidly zig-zag downwards until I was bending lightly at my knees, as for my right hand, it is resting above my heart (pihal su eomneun). I turned my right hand into a gun pattern and used it to shoot at my left hand. Now, my left hand only has it's index finger up (a), and used it to direct my knees facing to each other. I bent down slightly lower, using the sides of my feets to balance myself (achimi wa). I struck out my pointing finger outwards. I made my right hand that made a reverse "C" letter, I drew back my forearm through my open right hand in a wiggling pattern and leaned a bit backwards on my right leg (Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha).

As weird as it sounds, I managed to draw in my left leg and landed on the side of my knee while my right leg was bent regularly, I used my right heel as a cushion when I managed to finesse my movements. I timed my knee hitting the stage to Ryujins "I'm the mafia" whilst gripping my hat. The crowd immediately exploded, they were so loud that I had to strain my ears to isolate the music audio. However, this is not me saying the audience reactions were unwarranted. The icing on the cake was me seeing the ITZY members mixed emotions. Yeji and Ryujin had their eyes widened like they look similar to deers in headlights. Lia had her hand over her mouth, she wasn't sure if she keep smiling or be in shock. Chaeryeong is seen rubbing her temples. And lastly, Yunas face looked like she was about to explode in happiness or excitement, probably both. The show must go on, I still have a few eight counts to go.

Ma-ma-ma-ma-mafia, yah

We do it like a mafia

Ring-ding-ding, ding-ding-ding

This section I was feeling a bit tired, so I took Chaeryeongs lyrics as a quick breather so I rocked side to side. When I was feeling better, I had my right hand moving across the crowd like I am doing a driveby.

I'm the mafia

Ma-ma-ma-ma-mafia, yah

We do it like a mafia

Tto achimi balgatseumnida

On this section, I used both of my hands to grip my waist and rolled my hips and head around (I'm the mafia, Ma-ma-ma-ma-mafia, yah). I caught my mouth, and I started to moonwalk into a bounce (we do it like a mafia). My right hand milly-rocked, I moved with it as well and I did a quick spin (tto achimi). My head was tilted, I tensed my body to straighten myself out and my neck moved side-to-side along with Ryujins satisfying "balgatseumnida".

Eojetbamedo you don't even know (Ayy)

Nuguilkka mafia? (Ayy)

Nari balgado you don't even know (Ayy)

Nuguilkka mafia?

I rocked along with the first two lyrics, I'm slowing things down so I can finish smoothly. I gave the Annie and Ji-hun finger guns while I was mouthing, "nuguilkka ma-fi-a~?". I slowly walked up to the other camera facing me, and timed my left arm moving with the record scratches after "mafia?". I extended my index finger and my pinky finger up while pinching the air with my other three digits. It's a wolf, and seems like I already got everyones heart in my teeth.

I remained still while looking at the camera. The endless void stared back at me. After a few seconds have passed, I put both of my hands behind me and I bowed to the camera. It panned away and looked at the screaming crowds.

Now THAT, is a performance.
