"Just as I thought, everything went well."
Samuel quietly whispered these words while gazing at his very first follower in this world.
He felt immensely relieved that he had achieved success.
It was like he had just captured his first valuable pawn.
"All right..."
Samuel sighed inwardly and then softly pressed the black spatial bracelet around his left hand.
It was a low-level artifact that Samuel obtained from the belongings of his current body's owner.
This bracelet could store inanimate objects without any hassle.
Samuel pulled out some papers where he had written down last night everything he could remember about the Magic Engines Project.
In these notes, Samuel detailed the issues the current project is facing, which were described in the novel and solved by Mike Robinson, a magician from the Dragon Empire.
Samuel also included details about new technologies from the 21st century to help Magnus finish making the Magic Engine prototype faster.
With a slight smile, Samuel handed over the papers to Magnus.
"These papers point out the issues and mistakes in your little project. But there's also some new info that might help you make the prototype faster. The rest is up to you, buddy." .
"Huh?"
Samuel chuckled.
"Hah, I expect impressive results from you, Court Magician."
Old Magnus grabbed the papers and dived into reading them eagerly, like a possessed person.
Using his magical abilities, Magnus swiftly devoured the contents of the papers that Samuel had handed him.
After just a few moments, the old man's eyes sparkled with excitement as he exclaimed, gazing at the papers with wild fascination.
"Wow, I had no idea you could use the pumping system like that! So, does this theory mean turning magic stones into an alternative energy source called magic fuel?"
" This is possible ."
"Yes, it is possible."
"I have to try it now."
The elderly man leaped up from his seat, mumbling excitedly about his project.
"Your Majesty, look, the ink isn't fully dry on these papers," he said.
Then, with a shaky voice, the old man asked,
"Could you please introduce me to the brilliant person who wrote these fantastic papers? They truly deserve to be called the best of the century. "
Magnus didn't get mad at the person who checked his research and disagreed with his ideas.
Instead, he felt the scientist's excitement. He really wanted to meet this scientist, learn from him, and share ideas.
Samuel sniffed and spoke sternly.
"I should go now to avoid raising suspicions by lingering here any longer. I reckon my friends are getting impatient too, so I'll just stroll around the tower for a bit before heading back to my palace."
Then, he said seriously, giving the old man's shoulder a comforting pat,
" I'm counting on you to take charge of the tower and deal with any mages who oppose you. Remove them from the picture however you see fit. I don't want anything getting in the way of my plans." .
" Samuel about...-"
"Your daughter is in a very secure place right now. When it's time, I'll let you know where she is. I understand you're anxious to find out, but my ancestor advised patience. You've waited a long time already, so a bit more won't hurt," Samuel responded calmly.
"Um, alright," Magnus reluctantly responded.
"Please keep our chat between us. Act normal around others when you're with me. I don't want anyone to know you're associated with me right now." "
Magnus calmly agreed, saying, "Of course."
"I nearly forgot. I have a problem I need your help with."
"What's wrong?"
Samuel nodded and gestured to his round body, resembling a large meatball, saying,
"Does practicing magic help cleanse impurities?"
"Yeah."
"So, I need your help to learn magic to... lose my fat."
" Lose your fat !!"
"Yeah, is there any problem ??"
"Hahaha, that's quite a humorous ask! Haha
Magnus chuckled, glancing at Samuel's less-than-ideal physique.
"What's so funny?" "
Samuel queried, raising an eyebrow and fixing a chilly stare on the elderly man before him.
"Tsk, what happened to you? You used to be so sweet and cuddly when I used to meet your father, Harold. You know, back in the day... ".
Samuel interrupted, frustrated. "Forget that. Just answer my damn question."
Magnus noticed his colleague's mild irritation and quickly recomposed himself.
He scratched his beard thoughtfully before offering a simpler explanation:
"To solve your problem, you have two options. The easier one, like you mentioned, is undergoing the purification process. Basically, it's when someone new to mana feels its presence and creates a mana store in their belly button location. Mana naturally cleanses the body of impurities and fats."
"That's why many magicians tend to have slender bodies. Because to open the mana veins in their body, the excess fat must be eliminated. "
Magnus went on, explaining another option: "Another way is to take weight loss potions regularly along with a healthy diet for two months. These potions can help Your Majesty shed extra weight and become slimmer again."
"I heard what you said, but I've chosen to go with the first option. I don't want to wait two months with this fat body," Samuel grumbled with frustration. "So, tomorrow, could you quietly arrange for a skilled magician to come teach me magic in my room? I'd prefer if it's your student, Aaron. I'm also quite curious about what magic entails."
"Also give me a magic crystal to communicate with you secretly."
In this world, the invention of the telephone never occurred.
Or more precisely, Samuel didn't add the telephone to the settings of the story .
Instead, the magic crystal serves as a mobile phone, allowing communication with others.
But unfortunately, magic crystals are pricey, unlike mobile phones, making them accessible only to the wealthy elite such as great nobles and affluent merchants.
Magnus produced a round blue crystal out of thin air.
This crystal drifted into Samuel's hand, who promptly slipped it into his spatial bracelet. Samuel then shifted position and nodded, saying,
" I am going "
He walked to Magnus' office door, gripped the knob, and called out,
"Tell Aaron to come tomorrow at seven because he's good at spatial magic. He'll help me sneak out. I'll send more instructions later."
"Have a safe trip back, Your Majesty."
- Tak.
Samuel shut the door, leaving Magnus deep in contemplation.
...…
A few minutes later,
-Sigh
Magnus sighed softly, murmuring, "Unbelievable."
He sat puzzled.
"I didn't realize initially, but he truly directed the deal. It didn't feel like I was conversing with an ignorant emperor. It felt like I was negotiating with a seasoned individual of comparable age."
"Could he truly be in contact with his ancestor, Ragnar? Anything seems possible in this world."
"Fuck it"
Magnus yelled as he gently scratched his beard.
"Has he been concealing his real self all along? Or is this truly what happens when his spirit color alters?"
"Damn it, it's very mysterious. But that doesn't matter. We are in the same boat from now on."
Magnus sighed as he pondered the numerous mysteries surrounding the young emperor, then gently rubbed his forehead.
"Reflecting on these matters is futile."
It's too late to back down,
Magnus will follow Samuel just like he did his father before.
As always, the Hanover family has plenty of unexpected twists for Magnus.
"Hmm, he wants Aaron to coach him."
Whoosh !
Suddenly, many old reports appeared in Magnus' hand.
[Harold's young son's baptism revealed that he had little sensitivity to magic.]
[Report of the Knight Commander: The prince's physical condition is much weaker than that of an average child. Despite my attempts to introduce him to basic fencing techniques, he requires prolonged rests after each sword swing and fatigues rapidly. Tomorrow, I plan to train the prince in shooting at the Second Corps training range.]
[The prince's archery skills are so poor that even after a month of training, he couldn't hit any target. I believe it would be more beneficial for him to focus on learning war strategies to prepare for a future role as a military leader.]
Magnus continued to study ancient reports his spies had sent him, covering Emperor Samuel Hanover's life from his birth as a prince to his crowning as Emperor Griffin.
"Huh, obviously it is his black spirit. One cannot hide for the past years aimlessly ."
