Healing and transistion

My mouth gaped as all I could do was tenderly hold my Kaasan's core while staring at her lifeless body. Then I couldn't hold anything back, I roared as pain enveloped my very soul. I didn't know how much time had passed as the pain seemed endless, as tears uncontrollably flowed. I kept crying out until I had nothing left in me but whimpers. I curled up next to my Kaasan as if she were merely sleeping trying to blot out the rest of the world

"Huh?… What?"

"Yes, yes, I know this is confusing but you need to listen for now and I'll explain everything later. I know you're hurting, and well….. Sigh, I'm sorry. No one should have to go through what you did. But you can't stay here we have to leave, and go to somewhere safe."

"But, Kaasan, I can't leave her, not…not like this. Not to be fed upon or plundered by anyone who wants her power."

The system spoke once more. "Sigh, I know.. But most of her power is in her core that she gave you. How about this I'll unlock your inventory, so you can store her monster core safely, and when it comes to the rest of her, cast shadow bind and I'll handle the rest."

In acknowledgment, I turned toward my beloved Kaasan and activated Shadow Bind. Her shadow turned into a black puddle, and the tendrils snaked around her entire body as it pulled her down, looking as if she was sinking into the earth until she was finally gone.

"What did you do?" "I couldn't do much but I pulled her deep within in the earth. Now no animals or humans would be able to plunder her, instead, the power left within her will flow back into the forest, making it stronger."

"Good, that's what she would have wanted" I melancholy stated.

"Mishi call open the map." "I have that" "yes please just call it." "System open map"

A virtual see-through map appeared before me with a path mapped out to what looks like a cave.

" Congratulations, blah, blah blah you have a map, yay! Now follow this route. It leads to a cave that would be a safe place."

"A safe place for what?" "Sigh, do I really need to.. Wait no don't say it, patience have patience, she just only lost her entire family, you can go back to being a Jack As$ lat…" "Uh system?" "Right as I was saying, we need the safety, because the stronger spirit beasts of the forest are going to be coming here soon. Now that a powerful battle has occurred, they will be looking for your deceased family, to plunder whatever cultivation they can from them. Fortunately because of me, they won't find your mother, those damn greedy bastards have no respect."

Satisfied with its answer I place my Kaasan's Monster core in my inventory, and start heading towards the cave. As I'm walking, I suddenly realize something that was right I front of me practically smacking me in the face. "System…. Do pre-tell how long you have been able to talk like this, and why the sudden change in your persona!" "Oh uh…right…um…" "never mind I'm not in the mood. We will talk about this later and no Bullsh!t!" I entered the cave and notice it's quite capable of spending the night, and it at least and appeared to be empty. "Alright System talk!" "Wait before we get to that…. You should…you should eat the monster core." "The monster…. Kaasan" I said pulling it out of the inventory. Looking at it, my mind started to drift to my first hunt, her healing touch, and her sweet milk. Tears started streaming down my face once more. "I….I…can't, it just seems wrong, wouldn't I just…be eating her." "Mishi….I understand, but you know this is what she wanted, and you are still in danger." "No… I can't, and I won't!" I exclaimed hugging my Kaasan's core as if the system was its predator."

"Ok, …Mishi, what if I come up with a less crude manner of consuming the core. Rather than eating it, it would be like fusing it with your very essence. Try thinking of it as binding a piece of your mother to your soul." "Fine!, I'll try it just tell me what to do, oh and system…" "y..yes" "once this is over we're going to talk" "ok, and no BS I promise."

"Mishi are you ready now" "yes just tell me what to do." "First curl around the core, laying down, placing your head right beside it. Now activate your meditation technique." Once I activated my meditation technique I felt myself enter into an alternate state of being. It was as if I became apart of, and aware of everything around me. My eyes were closed but I could see, or rather sense everything better than ever before. I could not only hear a stream a few meters away but I could also feel, even taste its freshness. I not only felt the ground but seemed to have become a part of it, experiencing even the most minute vibrations coming from a worm crawling deep within the earth under the cave's entrance. It was as if I became apart of everything around me. Then focusing upon myself I could see dark mist like sprit energy beginning to swirl like a whirlpool sucking in the spirit energy from the rest of my body, as the brown spirit energy of the earth, the green spirit energy of life, the blue spirit energy of the stream, and the colorless spirit energy of the air were all being drawn in towards my body. It then entered into my channels, being drawn into my dantian. Then right in front of me a white energy in the shape of a ball so dense that it looks more like a sphere of white liquid, rather than the misty appearance of the other energies.

"Great, your doing well Mishi, and now you can see you mother's monster core's energy right beside you. Now you need to understand that her core's spirit energy is extremely potent for it to be in liquid form. A single drop of this energy has more energy than all the rest you're sensing around you combined. When I tell you how to absorb this energy it needs to be done slowly and carefully. Your going to feel pain far worse than you have ever felt before, but you can't rush it and you can't lose consciousness. If either of these happen your current self could explode from the mere force of your mother's energy. It would have been less risky to just eat the monster core, but I'm not even going to bother asking you if you're sure you want to continue with this method, because I already know the answer. Just please Mishi don't die"

"I will aid you in this process to increase your odds of succeeding. Alright now I want you to narrow your focus so that all you see is your mother's monster core energy. Block everything else out so that it's just you and the core, nothing else." As I followed the system's directions everything around me began to fade to black until all that existed around me, was me and Kaasan's core.

"Perfect your doing well, now I want you to carefully draw a single drop from your mothers core to your body. Don't rush to absorb it, but instead have that single drop coat your entire body, like a second skin." I drew the drop from the core and started spreading it around my body until it was imperceptibly thin. "Alright now slowly draw it in your body evenly at the same time. Keep control of it and don't let it control you."

As instructed I started drawing it in and the moment it became absorbed into my skin all hell broke loose. The skin on my entire body burned with the most intense and searing pain. At first, I thought I was just metaphorically burning, but no, my skin was literally burning with that same white fire that enveloped, Rakshan's arm. My body immediately started convulsing, and my dantian upon its own accord changed from a whirlpool to a black hole uncontrollably sucking in the energy that was burning my flesh deeper into my body. To make matters worse my mother's monster core wasn't going to let me slowly take anything in. The core itself burst as the entirety of its energy enveloped my entire body.

I was drowning in a molten sea of white flames, that was burning my flesh, my muscles, and my very bones all at once. I thought I was going to go insane from this unbearable pain, unto finally, everything started going black. As my consciousness wained I could have sworn I heard the system swearing. "Sh$t sh$t, sh$t, hold on Mishi, please….." then there was nothing.
