Liwei was standing on her sword as it sped through the gradually-darkening sky.

She had traveled non-stop for almost two weeks. Whenever her spiritual energies weakened, she'd continue on foot. The only times she stopped was to wash and get changed, but it didn't take her more than half an hour.

So she couldn't understand why she hadn't spotted Lan yet. She took the shortest way : on the east side of Tangshu Town was a burnt-down forest, where nothing but crisps of trunks remained.

It used to be a beautiful forest with a diversity of plants and flowers, but six years ago, demons and Immortals fought near it and hell's fire ravished it completely. It hasn't been able to grow again afterward.

Running in this direction would lead to a mountain path, and by continuing to go east, one would end up in the Taishi province.
