Chapter Three

By the time I got to Jona's house it was already around 8:10, living close to the outskirts of sector 5 Jona's house. Was just a factory, that they made "live-able" as I got closer I noticed a bunch of guys and girls, like always they stood around outside blasting music and smoking.

"Jona" I called out, noticing him wearing baggy blue sweats with a cap that had the word "law" sown into it. When I called out to him a few other people also turned around but when they saw me, each looked away, as Jona walked over to me.

"Hey man how's it been, didn't think to invite me to your party?"

I said trying to laugh it off as a joke. Wanting to lighten the mood. Given the look on his face, it had the opposite effect.

"Honestly this has never been your scene. You're the lone wolf type…. Which is cool don't get me wrong cuz."

"Yeah"… I said the awkwardness of this whole thing starting to set in.

"But hey… I'm gonna need you to do me a favor. Like honestly this isn't me wanting this. It's me needing this, you got me."

I said hoping he got what I meant. Taking his hat off and scratching his head. But every second was dire for me. Adding on

"Cuz you know me we're family, I never do things without thinking about the family. You couldn't find anyone who'd say differently. Just do me this favor alright I'm telling you the reward is gonna be worth it."

"See i get what your saying but bro I've got this place you know taking care of family, bills and shit I'm ju…"

Cutting him off before he could finish i interject while also taking a peak at the clock again it's 8:50.

"Come on I haven't even said how much I need, just let me know how much you've got. I'm not trying to run you dry."

I said trying to form a smile, wanting to seem "friendly" yet being unable to.

Taking a puff of whatever he was smoking, Jona gave me a look. We both grew up with street smarts, even though we're cousins.

Jona knew this was business and I'd done a lot for him in the past as well. Staring at me through his light brown eyes. He said he had just over 9 thousand. With that I only asked for 4. To which he agree but added on.

"I don't know what your into. Or what's going down but cuz just know… I've got you, whatever it is you need. But I don't expect a credit less than what I just gave you."

With that I had the money, looking at my bank account I had exactly 12,320 credits.

Oliver must've sold some of his stuff. Checking my phone I saw the text he left letting me know. But instead of replying I made a call to "miss Jackel" letting her know I had the money and was coming in.

But before that I had to make a stop at home. Leaving Jona's house was a nerve racking experience. We've always helped each other out but couldn't really claim to be close, mostly due to me.

The walk home was less stressful. Jona didn't live far at least not in the sense of what I was normally use to. The walk back took just under an hour, Though I don't know how it came to be, but I became known around these parts. So the walk back was a breeze "The sectors alive like usual" I thought taking one look back before walking into my my house.

"Mooooom! Crater is home!"

shouted Noona, standing in the hallway, dressed in her red and blue cloud printed pajamas, a huge smile plastered on her face. Her hair Tied into two big buns, her bangs laid gently on her caramel skin.

She jumped on the couch as I rushed past the living room, making a sharp right, swinging open the basement door and dashing down to my room.

Avoiding all wires, nuts, bolts, nails, books and half completed tech trinkets. Like a glove that controlled a large mechanical hand that was somewhere around here.

Still in a rush I made my way past my bed, jumping over my couch and speed walking over to my computer far back in the corner of the room.

Seeing the data Oliver sent to my dummy email. I started to download the data, given it sheer size the download might take a few hours if not longer.

With a sigh of relief, I felt a wave of exhaustion rush over my entire being. Feeling myself slump over nearly about to fall asleep, my phone rings again. A jolt of fear rushed over me and in a semi lucid dream state I slam my hand into my pocket and rush to my feet.

"H..h hello"

"…"

-Phone Hangs up-

Miss Jackel called my phone leaving a dreadful message that I understood completely.

Rushing up the stairs, I heard my older brother voice. Remembering he borrowed my mom's car earlier, the keys must be somewhere around here… having found them I immediately took off out the door.
