The Gathering of the Trouble Bringers.

There are many rules in order to come out unharmed in a gathering like this. And After reading from multiple books, I have been able to come up with the most important and necessary rules for surviving in any gathering you may find yourself in, especially when you happen to live in a book where common sense happens to be unavailable to many people.

Now, rule number one. "Never drink from a glass offered to you from anyone even when you think you trust said person because you will wake up the next day on someone's bed".

Rule Number Two, "When someone says that you are being called to, say a room or any enclosed space. That is definitely a lie. You are about to get jumped".

And the Most Important rule of them all, "Stay away from the Main Characters. They are drama"

So after arming myself with these rules I believed myself to be invisible so can somebody tell me why this happened. Why in the seven realms am I dancing with the male lead instead of the female lead and not having successfully sneaked out of here?

*Some hours back*

"Thank you All for coming." Mr. Quinn addressed the audience from the raised step, in which he stood with Mrs. Quinn and Eva placed by his sides.

"We welcome you to our humble home to introduce to you our daughter, Eva Quinn. She was lost, and now she has been found and brought into our loving embrace" Mr. Quinn raised his wine glass and cheered. There were smiles on the face of Mrs. Quinn and Eva. Together they looked like the perfect family.

Eva's innocent smile paired with her pink gown emphasized her angelic beauty.

Which was accompanied by the applauds by the audience.

"What a beautiful Young girl. I will like for her to meet my son" Someone asserted from the crowd

I turned around, feeling a stare boring into me, and saw the Male lead looking in my direction without blinking.

I moved back but noticed that his eyes still followed me.

-What is his problem now-

I felt a tap on my shoulder, which made me turn around to see Zinnia.. No Xenia

"Hi, We haven't talked much these days, have we?" She questioned with her hands clutched around the stem of her wine glass.

-Oh oh. Red flag Number one-

"No, we haven't," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"I hope you don't mind what happened in school. I am so sorry for exposing your secret. As an apology can I offer you a drink and can we go back to being friends" She said linking her arm in mine while pushing the drink into my face.

-Red flag Number two-

"Oh Xenia, Can you stop this because the only person you are fooling here is yourself if you think that I would believe a word that you say," I said, unlinking her arms from mine.

"I don't know if it's because I hit my head, but now I can see very clearly and know that you are no friend of mine"

"What," she said, tears leaking from her eyes as she swayed slightly on her feet.

"I know you hate me, although I am not exactly sure why, so you can stop pretending now," I said, taking a napkin and drying her tears.

-Don't cry with that face-

"If it's because of the male... I mean Aron I don't love him any more, so you can have him as long as you leave me alone. I am no longer your rival. She is your rival so disturb her not me" I said guiding her towards Eva

-Fight it out with her. And leave me alone-

I noticed that the song was changed to songs used for waltzing, with the volume being higher.

-I guess it's time for the dance-

The Male lead pulled the female lead to himself and danced like no one was watching

"They will make a beautiful couple" People whispered around.

-Ah, the double standards. When it was my character pursuing him, they said she had no manners and was beneath his level, but God forbid they say the same about the precious heroine-

"Who does she think she is" A girl murmured beside me, biting her nails.

-Another delusional girl that thinks they own the Male lead. This should be one of the girls in love with the male lead-

She probably won't have a good ending.

"I advise you to give up before you find yourself in a ditch somewhere," I said for the heck of it.

"What" She was clearly confused

Ignoring her mumbles, I walked towards the balcony.

"Hmm" I inhaled a deep breath and looked at the sky. The stars seemed to flirt with the moon with their twinkling lights on the dark sky. It was mesmerizing.

This gathering was draining me of my energy.

-Should I sneak out now. I mean, no one would notice-

"Teirrah" A deep voice called

I didn't need to turn to know it was the male lead.

"Not even a greeting"

Not wanting to deal with his bullshit, I prepared to walk away but was interrupted by a pull on my arm.

"Are you ignoring me or are you trying to get my attention" His mouth pulled into a frown

"Now, what made you think that. Was it the fact that I kept on walking even after you called? Yes, I am definitely trying to get your attention" I said pulling my arm away from his grip.

"Teirrah what's going on here? "Eva said with a scowl on her face

-Don't ask me, ask your male lead-

"Nothing. I think He might have been looking for you" I said, preparing to walk out again.

"No, I wasn't. I wanted to ask your sister for a dance" He glanced at me

"You have drawn my attention" He whispered with his mouth pressed against my ear, causing an itchy sensation.

"What" Eva spluttered

-Yes What!-

He pulled me and dragged me to the centre of the hall used for dancing

Putting his arm around me, he interlocked his hand with mine, and he moved me in a waltz.

"I only said what I said because you were Insulting Eva. No need to be so sulky about it" He moved me closer with our chest slightly touching and letting my nose hit his shoulder and inhaling his cologne.

-Hmm. Mint-

-Was this the cold male lead that was described in the book. The one that cherished his words like they were gold. Was he going against his character settings? Well, it didn't matter to me. It was best I set the record straight today"

"Aron, I admit I loved you. It was so easy to when you were the only one that I knew that I could be friends with, without worrying that you only cared because of the family I came from. And your appearance certainly didn't help with me being at an impressionable age. But I am tired now, Aron" I paused then continued

"I don't have time for chasing you anymore, and I realized that maybe it wasn't even love in the first place but Infatuation. And recently I made a resolution to cut bad people from my life, so let's stop this now. You focus on your life and I will focus on mine" I concluded pulling my body away from him only to feel his grip on my wrist stopping me.

"What do you mean" He growled out.

"Exactly that"

I pulled away from his arm and walked back to my room using the other direction.

*Behind the scenes 1"

How did you know? How did you know I hated you. And why, you ask.

Why do you get to be friends with him when we are on the same level?

Just because your relative was married into the family?

You don't deserve that opportunity.

-And why has my heart been hurting lately. Am I sick?-

Well, it's good you know your place now.

*Behind the scene 2*

What do you mean, you are tired? You were the one who chased after me and kept on trying to contact me, and now you say you are tired. Well, Am not. You can't just leave after you caught my attention.

"To The Mansion" I informed my driver after getting into the car.

You can't just simply let me go.

It doesn't work that way.

*Behind the scenes 3*

AaaaaaHhhhhhhh Why is everything going wrong...
