Ball To Banquet II : Fiery Child

With their fiery entrance, a family of redhead pointy-eared persons stepped out of the fires. There were two men and three women, one of the women had a red crown that matched her red and orange dress, one had a golden ember tiara and the other one had on a black veil, her clothes complemented with red-black, and orange colors.

The lady's veil was blown by a very coincidental gust of wind, revealing her face that proved her to be a beauty worth hiding.

The younger man was dragging a child by her collar. The child had a large forehead and a spread of freckles going across her face, her arms were crossed and she had a large bandaid on her right cheek.

It was evident that she didn't want to be there, after the flash of lights ceased the young man let go of the girl's collar causing her head to fall to the ground.

- "Ouch! What the hell is your problem you piece of trash! I ought to burn your hair and turn you bald, you Crank!"

The girl got up in a fit of anger and, unexpectedly, started spewing out curses, swears, and insults as she waved her finger at the man. The man's lips were twitching while he was looking at the little girl.

- "Hahaha! Look at yourself, you're turning into a geyser, you little Crank turd."

With the man insulting her back there was actual steam shooting out the top of the girl's head while her face turned blood red. The girl turned into a little geyser and before she could bite back, they were interrupted by one of the women clearing their throat.

- "We're in public Karma. Elio, stop picking on the girl all the time, you are being quite loud." The woman that bore an almost spot-on resemblance to the girl with the large forehead, Karma, spoke to them behind her veil.

- "But mom!"

- "Haha, it's all in good fun Helia."

- "That is enough. Both of you, be quiet and follow me," Not bothering to listen to them, Helia took graceful steps toward the door with which Boss Tili opened with no lag in movements.

- "Welcome, the Urnfox family of the fiery Southern collective!"

Announcing their presence Boss Tili shouted within the main hall of the Bavel estate. The announcement caused a few greedy families to swerve their heads toward the family.

- "Lady, Lord Urnfox, it's a pleasure to meet you again. I know we didn't get to speak much last time, but I wanted to introduce my son to your ladyship and lordship, he turned into his twenty-second cycle this cycle."

A man with bone-white skin and thin cheeks stepped forward, with a man of a similar complexion standing a few steps behind him.

While they walked in, a handful of people with their sons and daughters in hand stepped into the Urnfoxs paths, they talked to the older man and the woman with the red crown. It was obvious what their plans for doing so were. They were trying to form marriage ties with them.

These people were an obvious disturbance to the family one could tell just by the look of annoyance on Lady Urnfox's and the younger daughter's faces.

- "Sorry, who were you again?" The girl in the Tiara asked the man in a tone of dismissal with her arms crossed.

- "E-excuse me... No, I understand we all forget sometimes, I'm Vegrial Tid-"

- "Oh dear, it seems you were confused. Thing is, you were just so insignificant that we have had no reason to remember you." This time the lady in the crown, Lady Urnfox, spoke up with her hand in front of her mouth.

- "I, er..."

The man was left dumbfounded by their plain act of disrespect, he looked around confused by the other's lack of reaction as if this were some daily occurrence. It was obvious that the man was new to this scene and the people standing in it.

The man was publicly shamed, he couldn't even introduce himself or his son. The silent son that stood behind his father could also feel the shame, he couldn't even raise his head to meet Lady Urnfox's eyes, he could only lead his father and turn away.

Watching the two men walk away Helia looked down noticing someone missing, she sighed and turned to Elio and he just shrugged his shoulders, causing her to look around and she saw Karma surrounded by three boys that were twice her size.

...

After a small crowd had formed around her family, Karma immediately ran and squeezed past their legs, everyone was quite tall considering she was only a slight bit over five feet.

She moved across the hall, didn't like being surrounded by people, especially strangers. If she was surrounded she was open to danger, people she didn't know were dangerous, but so were the people she did know.

Coming to a stop she stood in front of the large staircase, looking up she gazed at the painting on the stairwell. An almost realistic portrait was hung up there, within the portrait was the painting of a little blue-haired girl with pointy ears. Even though she is certainly beautiful, she seemed to be sitting uncomfortably, how was a painting able to capture such detail?

- "The Bavel family is certainly great and prestigious. They have high authority over the Towers and their military accomplishments are commendable. They made the greatest contribution to the Etta war and drove off the Kritol armies."

- "Indeed, but it's truly unfortunate that their blood has been tainted by the wretched blood of Tyvetta, the Bavel bloodline might just end with it."

While Karma's gaze was glued to the painting she began to hear the meddling gossip of the nearby Nobles. Hearing them mock Lulu, Karma looked at them as she never heard of Tyvetta before, and they said it with much more disdain compared to when they mocked her heritage, it made her want to know more.

While she was unfocused she failed to realize that what she wanted to avoid the most just happened. Three older boys, a few cycles older than her, towered and surrounded her. Their ugly mixed animal faces had sneers you wouldn't expect to see on a child, she had a bad feeling about this.

- "We noticed you were staring at that painting up there, you must relate to her a lot huh?"

Just as she foresaw, the one in the front started up the barrage of insults and threats that the group of boys would proceed to hurl at her.

- "Ha! I bet! You're both mistakes that shouldn't have been born, isn't that right?

- "Now that you've said that why don't you get that blue-headed monster and off both of yourselves? Yuletti knows it would do Ivingard some good."

Karma grew angrier and angrier with each word coming out of the boys' mouths. She was gritting her teeth and clenching her fist, barely able to contain herself.

- "Funny coming from you nobodies, you low-class swabs. You're just trying to bring me down because you were born in a lesser family while I, a half-blood, am in a much higher position."

Karma was puffing her chest out in pride as she spat back at the overgrown brats mocking her, what she heard next lit her fuse.

- "You should take that mother of yours with you. Just thinking that she got with a human and had his child is a disappointment to all Detrid kind.

Hahaha! - The boys just laughed in her face, not noticing how they just fanned the flames that would engulf themselves and all of their households.

They failed to notice the rise in temperature as Karma shook and trembled in anger, while fire sparked around her. Although the children didn't know what was happening, the adults figured out what was going on right away. The parents of the three boys wanted to rush in and pull them away from the fiery child, that is what they wanted to do, but they were held back by the rest of the Urnfox family, with Helia standing at the front.

- "What do you think you're doing!

- "That is my son, Will the Urnfox family take responsibility if something happens to my son!?"

- "If that little brat harms a hair on my son's head, I swear to Yuletta that I'll-"

The three sets of parents who were trying to get their children were shouting out complaints while two of them were even throwing out threats.

- "You will do what exactly? Might I remind you of who we are? Your children surrounded my child first and now they will face the consequences of their actions. Let us leave the fights of children among children yes? And while they do that how about we talk about how you raise your children."

With Helia's words and interference, the three families froze, well at least two of them did. One of the families seemed to have bigger heads than they needed and the head of the family, the father spoke out.

- "Do you think the Bavel family will sit still as your little mistake causes trouble at their estate? They have already locked up their blue-haired devil in this humble abode," The man spoke out in confidence with no source, as there was nowhere for it to have originated from.

- "You should wipe that sneer off your face it is quite unbecoming of you," Lady Urnfox was just becoming more and more annoyed by the man's voice as time ticked by.

"The Bavel family would love such a commotion to start, it certainly spices things up."

"You are completely right, Lady Urnfox."

The voice of a stern yet gentle voice came from the top of the stairs, the voice belonging to Nizael Bavel who had an amused smile on her face.
