Chapter 2! The Seer

Jeremy Pope couldn't get Kimberley out of his mind.

The white V-neck gown accentuates her curvy hourglass figure. Those pink lips with the accompanying well-arranged pearly white teeth and the unadorned wavy hair that flowed behind her like a waterfall.

Even the minutest expressions on her face, like the furrow of her brows got Jeremy hooked like a 'junkie'.

Kimberley has occupied his thoughts and dreams since he understood the meaning of love. The very first time he saw her, she stirred the wolf in him.

"You really know how to do justice to the colour white huh," mused Jeremy.

Alpha Jeremy was going crazy for his Luna.

Despite Jeremy's feelings for Kimberley, he was baffled by the fact that he just couldn't see through her.

Neither her thoughts nor her emotions were projected. He couldn't even get any clue about her future, unlike all others he had encountered before her.

One thing Jeremy Pope is certain of is Kimberley Price is the one for him and he must get his Luna at all cost.

Even at the cost of blowing a small issue out of proportion just to get her attention.

Since childhood, he was groomed to become the next head of the Popes and was nicknamed 'the seer'. He could tell people apart even before he could speak.

The Popes are noted for their unity. Many say they are too united for a rich family of their calibre. The secret to the Pope family is one many will never be able to guess, even in a million years.

It can simply be described as an ability

The sitting family head of the Popes loses his power when a new one is 'born'. He only occupies the position until the new comes of age and is capable enough to lead the family.

A family head of the Popes is born with a special ability that may be discovered at birth, infancy or in the adolescent years.

The abilities differ from one leader to the other, but one thing is certain, the leader must have an ability to qualify.

After all, the whole family is filled with shape-shifting werewolves. As a result, only the extremely talented ones become Alpha.

Jeremy Pope has the ability to predict the future in many cases. It is what some may describe as Clairvoyance.

He can also feel good or bad energy from those around him which enables him to determine the intentions of people who come close to him.

What Jeremy Pope never told a soul is that, when his perception is heightened enough, he could even read people's thoughts without any hindrance.

Kimberley Price became the target of young Jeremy the moment they crossed paths many years ago, where Jeremy felt an enormous amount of positive energy from her. It made him so refreshed that, it felt like medicine to his body.

She is also the only person whose thoughts Jeremy is unable to read to date but continually gives off an enormous amount of positive energy.

This energy is in perfect synchronisation with his innate energy and there is no way he is letting go of the source of this massive energy.

Upon reaching her home, Kimberley couldn't help but wonder if there was any other option to overcome the current crisis. Maybe her father could have another opinion on the issue

"Mom! Dad! what kind of person would I be if I reject Jeremy Pope's proposition? Will all your relentless efforts over the years be for nought, just because of my momentary stubbornness ness?"

Kimberley took in a deep breath and asks herself "How do I look you in the face when I can't even forgive myself? Why is everything so messed up? Oh, Lord! Please show me a way."

[Sigh!!!]

"You know Kim is going through a difficult time right now Jonathan. How could you allow my baby to get married in such a condition? Ariel destroyed my little girl in her best game. Are you not being too cruel to your only child? She is only picking up the pieces of her life at the moment!"

[Sobs]

Trudy Price could be heard speaking to her husband Jonathan Price with so much devastation lacing her tone.

"Listen to me Trudy, I am doing this for Kim's good. Our little girl would wallow in self-blame for the rest of her life if Price Pharmaceuticals falls in her hands"

Jonathan sounded so helpless as he continued, "then again,  I will never force Kim to make any decisions against her will and you know that. Please leave everything to our child. She is much smarter than you give her credit for."

Truly couldn't help retorting sharply "smart you say? At least you admit she is smarter than you could ever be," only to take in a deep breath and say " if you force my daughter's hands, be prepared for a divorce. After all, I would gladly take her home since you are already fed up with our presence"

Jonathan flinched at the word 'home' and couldn't hold himself from hugging his wife tightly while pleading with her "Trudy, please calm down and think objectively about this whole issue. Our Kimberley deserves to be happy"

Kimberley froze when she heard the mention of the name she hadn't heard for three days, Ariel. Just when she thought she had enough surprises for the day, she heard her mom threatening her dad with a divorce, which was a first.

She withdrew her hands that were on the door handle and hurried away with heavy steps.

In the garden, Kimberley sat in the cold, looking into the distant void.

Under the cold wind of the night, she felt nothing because her heart had turned colder than the chilly wind outside.

Three days ago, Kimberley received a summon from the London High Court.

Ariel Gibbons accused Kimberley Price of Patent theft whereby Price Pharmaceuticals had to defend their ownership of the newest drug developed by Kimberley Price.

Ariel was suing them for an amount worth ten times the profit from the new drug, which was their best product with the highest profit, ever since the inception of Price Pharmaceuticals

Kimberley felt as if a lump was pressing on her throat when she recalled how Ariel was the first person she called at each breaking point of the new drug composition.

All her sleepless nights were claimed by Ariel just because she placed her trust in the wrong person.

"Kimberley you fool! How could you have been so stupid! The handwriting was visibly on the wall but I just couldn't see it."

Her tone was filled with so much self-blame when she said "Oh, Ariel, what sin did I ever commit by having crossed paths with a traitor like you?"

Hmmmmmm!!!

[Silent Sobs!!!]
