"You understand, don't you?" He asked, looking down at the baby that laid in the cradle before him.

The light brown-skinned child gave him a toothless smile, playing with his fingers and toes as he watched Edward.

His two coloured eyes; brown and blue-green, dilated as he giggled.

Edward smiled, stretching his fingers to touch the boy's cheek. "The moral of the story is, stay away from white people. They are the enemy. Our enemy".

The boy laughed innocently. Edward cooed.

The door was then pushed open, seizing Edward's attention.

"Daddy?" Delia stepped in, shutting the door behind her.

Delia strode up to him, halting by the cradle. The baby immediately squealed in excitement at the sight of Delia.
