The assassins of the green twin mantis gang part 3

Meanwhile at the Milene manor. Haley was able to sneak in from an open window. A few servants were working in the manor, but Haley sneaked past them and hid when necessary so she wouldn't be spotted. She then sneaked into the study hoping to find the needed documents there.

Haley went to the desk and started to look at all the papers that were there. None of the papers seemed to have any useful information but she then spotted one drawer that had a lock on it. Haley started to pick the lock and after a while, she was able to open it. She looked inside and found a leather folder that had different documents inside it.

"Is Lady Dorothy home?"

"No lord Mihalh. She went off to meet the twins at the farm. She should though arrive by midnight."

"That's a pity. I will then leave these at the desk in the study,"

Haley quickly hid under the desk. The man opened the door to the study and walked toward the desk.

Haley felt an insane amount of divine aura coming from this man. The aura was insanely unpleasant and made Haley feel uneasy and restless. She started to bite her lip to try and calm herself down.

The man placed a small envelope on the desk and then started to walk away. Haley was biting so hard on her lip that it started to bleed. A small of blood dropped on the floor alerting the man who then stopped walking out of the room. He started to stand still, as he had just heard something.

Haley's heart was beating at an intense speed. Such a monstrous and vile divine aura came from the man, that if Haley would be caught, she knew she would be killed instantly.

"Lord Mihalh. Your secretary said that you have a second meeting with the king soon and that you should get going already."

"Ah, of course."

When the man left the room and Haley heard the horses getting away, she puked on the floor. Even though she didn't fight him or anything it was the most appalling and stressful situation Haley had been in, in her life.

She then quickly took the leather folder with her and left the manor running as fast as possible as far away as she could.

Back at the farm, Dorothy the older sister of the Milene twins looked like she was just playing with the three of them. None of them had been able to land a single hit on her.

"Argh, this is getting nowhere. We are being butchered over here," Edward yelled out.

"We can't give up. Otherwise, we are dead," said Rufus.

Attack after attack was dodged by Dorothy and then she counterattacked. She turned all her limbs into a weapon at will whenever she wanted.

"Hey lady, you got any great ideas? I am not in the mood to die today," Edward screamed at Doreen.

"I have one trick that could work, but it's too risky. One of us would have to work as bait to stall her long enough for me to do it."

The frustration was getting unbearable for everyone. It was like trying to jump over a high wall knowing you could never able to do it.

"I'll do it,"

Doreen looked at Rufus.

"It's the only way right. I'll be the bait."

"Oi, oi, oi. Stop joking around here Rufus. It's a suicide," said Edward.

"It's the only way. Better than being a rat who is being played by a cat knowing it will die anyway. She anyways is more cautious with me. Even she is terrified if I can land just one hit on her."

Rufus then dashed out at Dorothy. He was being cut to threads while not being able to do anything at her. Doreen on the meanwhile was gathering her divine power with her spear starting to glow like it was on fire.

Just when Dorothy tripped Rufus on the ground and was about to give the finishing blow to kill him, Doreen struck with her spear from far away. The spear quickly grew in length and struck Dorothy extremely hard. Dorothy was able to block the attack with her arms that she turned into shields, but the spear kept on growing. The spear was lifting Dorothy high in the air with the force of the attack making Dorothy fly far away.

"Quickly into the carriage. We have to flee now while we have the chance," Doreen screamed.

Doreen fell to the ground out of sheer exhaustion. Rufus came and picked her up as Edward took the reins of the horses and started to flee with all of them.

Dorothy on the meanwhile walked casually but got mad when she saw they were getting away. After riding like hell for 10 minutes they finally were able to take a breather knowing that Dorothy was unable to catch them.

"Aaaaaaah!! I'm alive. I'm ALIVEEEEE!" Edward yelled.

Rufus fell to the floor of the carriage with his injuries taking the best of him. He was the most injured out of all of them with cuts and bruises coloring his entire body. Doreen started to rip her own clothes that she then tied on Rufus to tend to his wounds.

"Thank you. You saved us there Doreen," Rufus said.

"No need to thank me. You anyway did the most. You saved me today a few times. I am the one who is in your debt now."

"Well, won't you look at that? The lady can be nice," Edward laughed.

"Oh shut up your ass mouth of a knight. And who are you calling a lady? I am only eighteen!"

Doreen finally snapped back at Edwards remarks, who so far just ignored him.

"Ohhhh. So you are then younger than me. Shouldn't you show me some respect then," Edward shot back.

"Oh, shut up! Respect is earned. I will not show respect to someone just because their dad decided to boink their mom a year earlier than my parents did." yelled a mad and frustrated Doreen.

"Then do you respect Rufus?"

Doreen and Edward looked at Rufus who had fallen asleep at the back of the carriage.

"Yeah. I kind of do."

"That's completely understandable feeling…. lady…... Ouch! Don't hit me. I'm steering here. You want us to end up in a ditch, cause that's how you are gonna end up in a ditch."
