It's all coming down

Many of the nobles were summoned into the capital city. The king had again called many of the nobles of the kingdom to the royal palace. Even Vlad Hunyadi was summoned to the royal palace.

The prince walked in with August. A lot of commotion was in the throne room and many of the nobles looked uneasy.

"So you decided to come," The king said to prince Markus.

"Of course, I would come if my king commanded me," prince Markus said and smiled.

After everyone was in the throne room the king started to talk.

"I think we all know why we are here. The commoners are all on strike. They refuse to work and do their share. There are revolts everywhere and it causes the treasury to be almost empty. We need solutions," the king said and looked around the throne room.

Duke Mihalh stepped forward.

"All the commoners have risen up after they heard what happened in the capital. They all are chanting this Rufus's name. The story about him has spread among the commoners. Since he wasn't ever confirmed to be dead they believe he is still alive and will come back."

"You were the one who suggested killing him," the king said and looked a bit aggravated at duke Mihalh.

"And that was the right thing to do. I assure you, my king. This is just a temporary problem. I am sure this is just a temporary problem," Mihalh said to reassure the king.

Count Vlad Hunyadi started to laugh.

"You have something to add, my good count?" Duke asked from count Hunyadi.

The count stepped forward from amongst the other nobles.

"As I didn't want to be here in the first place and I was forced to come here I might as well say something that is actually pretty crystal clear. Most of you are horrible people. That is the reason why the people are revolting," Hunyadi explained to everyone.

"We all know you like to mingle with you commoners. A bit too much even," said one noble and made fun of the Count.

The count looked mad, but another noble calmed him down. He whispered into his ear and the count calmed down. The count then left the throne room.

"Where do you think you're going? You have not been excused yet," The king yelled at Hunyadi.

"Back to Wallach. As you may know, Wallach is the only region where the people are not revolting. I tend to keep it that way," count Hunyadi said and continued to walk away with many other nobles joining him.

Prince Markus rushed out also when he saw the count leaving. He caught to the count in the hallway and yelled at him.

"My good count. May I speak with you," Prince Markus yelled out to the count.

"Make it quick. I was forced to come here under threat. Now that I came I intend to leave," Count Hunyadi said and stopped walking.

"I believe you know why I stopped you. I am asking not to make any move yet. We need you. If you start to revolt against the king you will lose. We must wait until we are in full strength."

The count looked unamused.

"Let me get this straight. I do not work for you. It is clear as day you really do not care for the people or us. The only one who I listen to and am willing to help is Rufus. I promise not to do anything until he returns, hopefully soon," count Hunyadi said and pointed his finger at the prince like a parent scolding a child.

"I have sent many men to look for Rufus. I believe I know where he is."

"Where do you believe he is?" count Hunyadi asked curiously.

"The grey scale mountains......"

Count Hunyadi looked shocked.

"How the hell did he end up there?"

"I don't know. I just heard rumors from the frontier that there is a human living among the grey skins," Markus explained.

"He could be any other human," the count said back.

"Could be. But not many humans are not known to have a divine power that can destroy anything they touch," Markus said and smiled.

The count smiled back.

"That sounds like a certain person we both know. And it seems he has also worked his other divine power on you too," count Hunyadi said and smiled at the prince.

"Maybe. In any case, I have sent a trustworthy person to the greyscale mountains. He if anyone is able to find him," Markus said and reassured the count.

Back in the throne room, they were still discussing what to do with all the unrest happening in the kingdom. The king himself felt he finally had an idea of his own.

"We will show our power. Send all those who oppose us and refuse to do their part to be crucified," the king proclaimed.

The throne room turned into silence.

"Are you sure this is wise? Won't this aggravate the masses even more?" one noble asked and questioned the king's decision.

"Nonsense. The king's idea is brilliant. Let us send some people from the dungeons as well. They are full of people that have waited already for too long for their judgment," Duke Mihalh shot down all the other nobles' ideas of going against the king's plan.
