Charge of the beasts part 2

Namri had frozen utterly. He was seeing his entire army being enveloped and the escape route was being slowly taken away when they were about to be encircled completely.

Pema jumped off his beast. He started to battle against the soldiers but was being slowed down by two nobles with divine power. The soldiers also started to encircle him making the fight even more dangerous for him.

Pema was trying the best he could in trying to create an opening in the human lines, but the enemy did not budge. Even if Pema was personally strong that didn't help in a battle if all your own allies were unable to do anything.

"Grey skins!" Namri yelled.

Namri got the attention of all the grey skins. They looked at their leader believing in him.

"With enough determination and willpower, anything is possible. We are surrounded and we are outnumbered three to one, so I will give all just one task. Everyone kill three enemies and I guarantee glory will be ours," yelled Namri and attacked the humans.

He commanded his black yak to jump high in the air. With his divine power, he was able to channel his power to his beast and had a better bond with it. His black yak headbutted and kicked the soldiers around him and was more nimble than your average black yak. He wielded his glaive and even was able to cut two enemies and a tree in half with just one slash.

Namri's black yak jumped and hit the enemy formation trying to break it. The black yak was pushing and killing the enemy like it was a wild tiger.

Spears were thrust at Namri from everywhere. The spears were at least two meters long and sunk in deep into Namri and his black yak. Namri still kept fighting, but he then saw his army being cut to pieces.

His warriors were crying out for their leader. The hopeless situation started to hit them and fear was starting to grasp them.

It was clear for him. Glory may be important to him, but to many, it was not. He looked at the ground to all the grey skins dead with their black yaks lying on the ground. He looked around frantically with blood coming from everywhere on his body. He and his black yak still were not giving up.

"Where is the glory? WHERE IS IT?" Namri thought to himself.

He realized he had been defeated. His own ego had been the best of him. He saw an opening for himself, but new only he could be able to escape. He thought about escaping alone, but the thought sounded tempting but also horrible inside his head.

Just when one soldier was about to attack an unfocused Namri a stone arrow pierced the attacker's head. Soon many more stone arrows were being shot at a speed of two arrows in a second all hitting their marks.

Behind the enemy, Erik charged with his own horse cavalry. They had gone through the forests and were now charging at the rear of the enemy.

The actual charge of the human cavalry was not as powerful as the grey skins' black yak charge, but they were able to hit the rear of the enemy what cause huge damage. It was now the enemy who was encircled.

Erik rode with his sword in hand and cut the enemy line in two. He yelled something at Namri trying to get him to wake up. When Namri realized what was going on he just saw Erik cutting away at the enemy with his sword.

His horse moved fast and he was able to dodge all the attacks of different enemies all on horseback.

The grey skins looked at the humans fighting and trying to save them. The same humans they had belittled before. They were humiliated, but also mad at themselves. They wanted to prove themselves now more than ever. Thanks to the charge of Erik the grey skins were invigorated again and they started to fight back. With the enemy line cut in half and the black yaks having again more space to move, they again commenced their charge. They rode all over the enemy infantry and started once again trample them with their majestic beasts.

The battle lasted for only an hour until the enemy had been completely routed. The victory was for the cavalry.

After the battle was over all the soldiers shouted hurrah and cheered for their victory. Erik didn't cheer and was just glad that they were able to win the battle. He was by nature a very humble person very different from Namri.

Namri yelled out in frustration. He rushed from among his warriors still badly wounded. He walked with an angry look in his eyes at Erik. When he stopped right before Erik he yelled out in grey skin language. Erik thought it was some kind of challenge to a duel or some kind of insult.

"He says thank you," Amala said.

"What?" Erik staggered.

"He wants to say thank you for saving him and more importantly his warriors and tribesmen. That you gave him glory today by allowing him to fight beside you," Amala explained.

"Then why is he yelling," Erik asked.

"He always is yelling," Amala sneered and looked mad at Namri who was smiling creepily.
