Battle of river Ins part 6

After Edward had made Rikard fly away from the battleground the enemy lost their will to fight. They thought that Edward had just killed him and they saw an opening where to retreat to. All of the soldiers fell into a retreat except the knights of the black sun who had not lost ground a single time.

All the royal soldiers started to run away from the wet hills. The rain stopped and the sky cleared. The sun shined on the battleground showing all the dead royal soldiers. The soldiers just ran through all the wounded and the dead hoping to get away from the onslaught.

The black yak cavalry continued their push what was made easier by the retreat and the loose formations of the soldiers.

Erik commanded the rest of the light cavalry that had harassed the enemy at the beginning to join in on the fight.

All of the rebel soldiers on purpose aimed at the nobles wanting to kill them since they were to root of all these problems. One nobleman was killing his soldiers who were retreating shooting rocks from his hand. He was stopped when Erik dashed next to him and cut his head with his sword killing the nobleman instantly.

Joan was still fighting Pema at the center of the battle. Half of the knights of the black sun were either dead or wounded badly. Even with all their skills, they were not strong enough to take on the entire army of the rebels and grey skins that counted for many being with divinity. One of the knights of the black sun came to talk with Jean.

"Captain Joan. The grandmaster has gone missing," said the knight to Joan.

"What do you mean missing?" yelled Jean back.

Joan looked around and saw constantly even fewer soldiers fighting alongside her knights. She looked to her left and saw the black yak cavalry charging at her knights. Arrows also kept flying killing more and more soldiers. Joan still insisted that the battle was winnable.

"We must fight on. The grandmaster has not been defeated. He will never be defeated!" Joan yelled out like a religious maniac.

Pema then struck down Joan and was going for the killing strike but she was saved by her knights. The knights surrounded Joan trying to protect her from Pema and the grey skin warriors.

"Captain Joan. We have to get out of here. If we don't get away from here we will be completely surrounded," one knight insisted.

"What are you talking about? The grandmaster has not ordered us to retreat keep fighting! Will you tell to him we retreated?" Joan yelled back.

The knight knew he was too scared of the grandmaster and knew that retreat meant death in the grandmaster's book.

Joan then looked behind her. She smiled as hope had arrived.

She saw that the last quarter of soldiers had finally been able to cross the river and enter the other side. She smiled and realized they could win now.

Almost five thousand fresh soldiers marched towards the battle. Many of the retreating soldiers regrouped with them. The royal soldiers started to cheer also believing they could now win the battle.

A small sphere then flew at the reinforcing army. The small sphere then expanded into a huge sphere engulfing a large portion of the relief force. All the soldiers were confused as to what it was since it didn't do any harm to them. Joan and the knights looked confused as to what it was.

"VUUUUOOOOAAAAAMMMM"

The large sphere then vanished disintegrating all the soldiers in its vicinity. The disappearance of the sphere then caused a huge shockwave that blew away even more soldiers blasting away their lines. In just a moment hundreds of soldiers had just died turning into dust. A large crater formed into the center where the army just had stood. Soldiers who had some part of their body inside the sphere had the part that was inside destroyed. Some had one hand others had half of their bodies.

The soldiers looked up and saw a huge lion and on top of it stood a man with a black jacket. It was Rufus.

Rufus had thrown his divine sphere to kill all those soldiers. The grey skin had warned that the royal army was about to cross and decided to do something about it before they could fully join in on the battle. He was standing on top of Gwon who was in his Seng form. The last of the grey skin warriors that had yet to enter the battle engaged the reserve force. With the initial charge, the entire reserve force's will was destroyed.

Joan just saw that there was no way to win this battle. The only thing not stopping her from leading her knights of the black sun to escape was her fear of her father. She was afraid to confront her father if she had run away and believed it was just better to die on the battlefield.

Joan then looked up to the hill where Edward and Rikard had fought. She saw Edward carrying the decapitated head of Rikard. In a way, she felt despair, but mostly she felt relieved. She gave in to her knights' requests and ordered a retreat of the rest of the knights of the black sun.

The victory was now clear. The rebels and grey skins had triumphed at the battle of the river Ins.
