Monsters of the Saxon forest part 2

Joan charged the creature and swung her large sword at it. She tried to cut the creature's hand off, but its flesh was too thick and hard for it to be cut off with just one slash. It felt like hitting with an ax at a fresh tree that refused to lose to the ax.

The creature still felt the pain of the strike and let the knight down as the other knight attacked at the heel of the beast. The creature's screams sounded horrible with almost human tones.

"Why is it attacking us. It knows it is outnumbered and outmatched. It only attacks like this if there is more of them," Joan thought to herself and realized what she was thinking.

Two more galeks entered the area. One of them grabbed one of the knights and started to put him into its mouth.

Joan tried to go and save him, but another galek stopped her from going any further. The creature started to crunch at the knight with its gaping jaw but was unable to penetrate the armor of the knight. The knight resisted swinging its sword around while the second was still dazed on the ground.

A second Ghaznavid grabbed the knight that was being eaten from his legs. It then started to pull the knight toward it as the other monster pulled from the hands. The knight screamed in agony and got ripped in two by the two monsters.

The monsters immediately rushed in to start eating the entrails and flesh of the knight that fell all over the ground. The knight that was still alive charged at the galek from behind that was fighting Joan. He jumped onto its back and plunged his sword into the mouth of the best. Joan then saw her opportunity and slashed the throat of the creature killing one finally.

The two galeks stopped eating at the knight and looked at Joan and the knight.

"We can do this. Don't lose faith yet," Joan said to the knight realizing he was shaking in fear slightly.

Horrible human-like screams started to be heard and coming toward them. Three more galeks were running like humans towards them with mouths open. The knight almost looked like he was about to drop his sword.

Joan was not ready to die now. She clung to her weapon and was ready to fight to the bitter end.

Just then one of the galeks that were rushing at them was cut in two despite its hard flesh. It was Edward along with the other knights of the black sun.

Edward and the knights started to cut down the galeks one at a time. Joan looked at her brother who easily killed the galeks with just a single blow. Edward's sword skills had improved vastly with Edward sending one galek flying with a slash that made an air pressure projectile that hit the beast like a cannon.

For Joan Edward looked like her father.

After the five galeks were dead Edward was covered in monster blood. He walked toward his sister. For Joan, Edward seemed like an amazing person and as a proper big brother.

"Wow. You suck," Edward said and looked smug.

The image of Edward as an amazing person shattered like glass inside Joan's head. She looked annoyed and punched Edward on his abdomen and walked away.
