Into the oven part 1

As the small gravity ship was spiraling down, they started to see the surface of the moon world. It was full of sand, with sudden rocks here and there.

Even though the surface was soft and could brace for some kind of impact, they were coming in too fast.

"Greeeeeat, dying not in a war but when hurdling down, at speed who knows what," Yosef complained.

As they were about to die at the impact, wings of pure divinity appeared from the back of Rufus. These wings then started slow down the fall by flapping against the air current.

Rufus's friends looked as these wings appeared and had no idea he could use them, but they had no time to stand in awe.

Rufus held on tight with his friends making sure he wouldn't lose his grip.

The ship was still spiraling down fast, and they crashed hard on the soft sand on the surface of the green solo moon world.

The gravity ship got instantly destroyed, getting torn into pieces. Rufus's friends and the around twenty Ghersengs that had accompanied them flew everywhere on the sandy field.

After they had survived the initial shock, they were all relieved that they had all survived the fall.

"Holy shit Rufus, you could have used that skill of yours earlier," Edward yelled.

The wings of Rufus disappeared once again like they had a mind of their own.

"When did you learn how to manifest those wings?" Doreen asked.

"I have no idea. The first time I used them, or more like as they used me, was when I was fighting against Berig, the first child in purple. They kind of saved me back then also like here now," Rufus explained.

They then looked around and started to question were they in the right world.

The earth was covered in sand and rocks, like a desert. The sun was smoldering hot, with the Ghersengs starting to toast inside their heavy armor.

"Where the hell is all the "green" in green solo moon world?" Edward pointed out.

Rufus walked on top of a dune to get a better view with Pema and Edward. What they saw was not reassuring.

All they could see were dunes of sand and sudden rocks here and there. No plants or vegetation could be seen nearby.

"Out of the frying pan," Rufus said.

"And into this shit place...." Edward finished.

They made camp under a large rock that gave them shade. The Ghersengs, Gwon, Pema and Amala were having a hard time as they were not used to such blistering heat. None of them were actually.

"What kind of a sick joke was behind in naming this place," Edward said frustratingly as he was taking off his heavy chainmail.

"Even my depressing humor doesn't go this far," Yosef said back.

Joan then threw her sword right next to Yosef, almost hitting him. She then lifted it up and showed how she had killed a spider that was crawling toward Yosef.

"Better keep a good watch on your surroundings. The heat it seems is not the only thing that can kill you here," she said.

As she walked away Yosef whispered to Edward, "Your sister is reaaaaally scary, you know that right."

Rufus was with Doreen walking a little further, hoping they could spot anything.

"You have any knowledge of this place?" he asked her.

"None. The people who live on this moon world, the Saracens, like to keep to themselves and not socialize with others."

As they kept walking further, they saw a small caravan of people, traversing through the desert on white horses. These people wore robes that covered their faces, to protect them from the blistering sun. Cacky furred camels carried their belongings as they rode on their magnificent horses.

They were far away, but could still be seen thanks to the flat terrain of the desert. Divinity enhances one's normal sense, including eyesight, which allowed Doreen and Rufus to spot them.

"They must be Saracens," Doreen said.

"HEEEEEEEYYYYY! HEELLLOOOOOO!" Rufus yelled.

Doreen sighed and said," You think they are able to hear you, we must be at least two kilometers away from them."

The Saracens then stopped walking and looked back.

Doreen looked surprised as Rufus kept yelling for help.

Unfortunately, help was not something that one got easily in the desert.

The Saracens then turned around and kept walking forward. The two of them were appalled how so easily they turned their backs on people who clearly needed help.

"I guess we have to survive this ordeal by ourselves," Doreen said.
