The black company in the mountains part 1

In the meantime, Markus and his black company were moving through the saxon forest. Many monsters had attacked their group, and to survive, they had sacked a village and stole their supplies. After weeks of marching, they had reached the grey-scale mountains. Around half of the soldiers of the black company had died. Monsters of many different kinds had attacked them during their journey, killing many.

As they finally reached the mountains, they burnt down and massacred several grey skin villages for supplies. Skal had left the main force to recruit still grey skin who were loyal to him. After ten days, Skal returned with a small party of his loyalists.

"I got some loyal warriors to join our cause, as I promised. Now give us what you promised," Skal said.

With just a nod from Markus, Mona, with her long claws, cut the tendons of a few soldiers of the black company. They fell to the ground and could not walk, let alone run.

"Here you go. A few humans for you and your warriors to feast on," Markus said and offered these men to them.

The grey skin warriors strolled while licking their lips. The soldiers who were to be offered begged their comrades to help them, but instead, they smiled. These soldiers were decided by the rest of their comrades. To be sacrificed and fed for Skal's warriors. They were the runt of the litter, the weakest among them. As the black company had dwindled through the fighting and traveling, only a selected group of fierce and most corrupted soldiers were left.

They finally reached where the god Dalai of the grey skins had died and been killed by the founding kings. The exact location where Rufus and his friends had, for the first time, seen Gwon in his Seng form.

"According to the tortured grey skins, this is where their god died," Mona informed Markus and Cixilo.

"Great, but it doesn't much help if we are to find the body during our lifetime," Cixilo said, looking at the enormous canyon.

"No, it won't necessarily...BRING THE PRISONERS!" Markus yelled.

The soldiers with August brought around twenty grey skins that had been forced to accompany the black company. They had been taken from the villages they had massacred and were now about to be used by Markus.

At Markus's command, the soldiers cut the throats of the imprisoned grey skins. With his divine power, the blood started to flow out of their bodies and form blood monsters.

"Great, now we have around twenty more people to look for a god's body. That will help a lot," Cixilo noted sarcastically.

"I am not done yet."

Markus then turned to blood monsters into tiny droplets that he spread out through the canyon. He closed his eyes and felt each blood droplet's presence. As the blood spread around the canyon, he felt each drop of blood and the divine power still lingering on the corpses.

Just by quickly scanning the area, he knew that there had been an enormous battle centuries ago, as many bodies were buried deep under the ground. Markus then felt a sizeable divine presence from a corpse and immediately knew it was a god's body.

Markus took his men to the location and made his soldiers dig.

"Aaaaah, I can't wait to get my hands on a real corpse!" Cixilo said.

"Should we be wary of any kind of booby traps?" August asked.

"I have no idea. Great kings usually have some kind of traps to go with them, but seeing as this is not a tomb but simply where it was left. Never have I seen a living or a dead god," Cixilo explained.

As the soldiers of the black company kept digging, one soldier hit a hard rock. The soldier brushed the dirt away and saw it wasn't an ordinary rock, as it shined like silver.

"Captain Markus. I think we found something!" the soldier yelled.

Mona jumped, looked at the shiny rock, and saw it was not silver but platinum. She then touched the rock with her hand and felt immense divine pressure that sent her flying.o

The entire canyon echoed with a screeching sound, and the earth started the shake. Large platinum pillars began to pop up. The black company soldiers started to form a defensive formation around the hole.

The platinum pillars molded into monsters, similar to the blood monsters that Markus created. These unknown monsters started to attack, like zombies, at the black company soldiers, and they crushed their bones and ripped them apart.

"DIG UP THAT PLATINUM ROCK UP NOW!" Markus yelled.
