A circle of growth and death part 2

Doreen was reading the book she had bought and every time she turned a page, text appeared right before she could realize it. It spoke directly to her and started to give all kinds of solutions persuade the queen to let them go.

The book knew everything from what had happened, what was going to happen and everything from between.

Gwon came to the room, carrying all kinds of fruits.

"Where did you get those?!" Liana yelled.

"From the streets....." Gwon said while trying to avoid eye contact.

"Don't tell me...you stole them..."

"Nooooo...no. I found them."

"From where on the streets?"

"....From a street vendor's stall."

Yosef started to laugh hysterically as Edward walked forward and casually grabbed an apple.

"Are there no adults here....?!" Liana yelled.

"Stop yapping, kid! As long as he didn't get caught, all is good!" Edward said back.

"I am talking about a responsible adult..."Liana retaliated.

Liana then saw Doreen, who was deep in thought while reading her new unknown and mysterious book.

"Doreen. I think you should butt in. We might get in trouble if that idiot gets caught stealing again."

Doreen was deep in thought and was unable to hear anything Liana yelled.

"Doreen! Helllooooo!" Liana yelled.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP YOU ALL! LET ME BE ALONE FOR ONCE! STOP BEING SUCH IDIOTS WHO CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT!" Doreen yelled.

Everyone went quiet. Liana stepped back as Doreen herself went back to reading the book without a single feeling of remorse.

"Gwon, don't go stealing any more fruits again," Yosef said as he passed Gwon.

"And if you go, bring me some," Edward whispered to him.

Rufus had died many times and every time he did, he had no memory. Instead, the unknown man with the same divine powers as Rufus was getting impatient. Each time Rufus came to him, he killed him more brutally and swiftly than before.

As Rufus returned to life for who knows what time, he felt a weird feeling all over his body. He started to shiver and feel immensely cold. He started to fall and blood began coming from his nose.

He composed himself and started to walk in the same direction as he had done many times.

After an hour of walking, he returned to the same place as before, where the unknown man had killed him repeatedly. Unlike last time, the man looked tired, like he had lost all hope.

"Look what you have done....! the man said.

"Who are you?" Rufus yelled.

The man sighed and pointed up. Cracks started to appear in the purple and dark blue sky. Debris was falling and it looked like the entire world was about to collapse.

"Because of your weakness, this world, my world, it's being destroyed. Even though time goes slower here, it doesn't stop. The cockroaches will soon eat you alive, and we both die," the man explained.

Rufus looked confused. He had no idea what he was talking about.

He abruptly saw bite marks all over his body with his flesh coming off. Rufus started to yell in pain.

The man then threw a divine sphere at Rufus and ended his misery quickly.

Rufus then woke up where he had many times, but this time it was different. The world was still crashing down, but Rufus hadn't lost his memory. Instead, all the times he had died rushed into him all at once. Thousands of deaths and the pains he had experienced all came at once.

Rufus threw up but quickly got back up.

"I need to find that man!" Rufus said and walked forward.

"You do not have to find me. I decided to find you instead. We don't have much time," the mysterious man said while he was flying in the sky.

Rufus was ready. He knew he had to survive.

"Your divinity is like a wild animal, and you have to force it out and then tame it. Are you ready?" The man said.

"Yes..."

The man then started to fly from the sky right at Rufus. He then twirled like a hurricane, aiming to slash Rufus with his wings like he had many times. Rufus conjured all his power, but he couldn't win and died again.

Again Rufus woke up and battled the mysterious man, but this time he had his memory intact. The two humans fought tens of times as the world was crumbling around them, and not a single time was Rufus able to block or evade the man's first attack.

"FORCE IT OUT, RUFUS! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!" the man yelled.

Rufus tried but wasn't able.

When he came back to life, the man was staring at him.

"Why do you fight?" he asked.

Rufus didn't know what to answer.

"WHY DO YOU FIGHT? I DIDN'T FIGHT FOR MYSELF, AND NEITHER ARE YOU. NOW ANSWER WHY YOU FIGHT!"

The unknown man then lunged for the final time. This time Rufus did not fail, though. Mighty wings made from Rufus's pure divinity came from his back and blocked the man's attack.

The man smiled.

"Finally....took you long enough."

The insects were devouring Rufus's unconscious body as the queen was about to leave, believing there was no hope for Rufus to survive.

Then an immense pressure of divine energy shocked the queen right into her core. She turned around and saw Rufus levitating in the air with his divine wings creating small purple flames around him to protect him from the attacking bugs.

"Rufus! Don't resist the insects. You can beat them!" the queen yelled.

Instead, Rufus fluttered his wings and released small purple flames that evaporated the insects faster than they could eat the flames' pure divine energy that kept them blazing. As the insects started to organize themselves to get through the small fires, Rufus summoned a divine sphere around him.

It looked like Rufus was the sun, with the divine spheres being the planets in a milky way. The insects tried their best to get through the divine globes around Rufus. Still, as they got closer, the divine spheres destroyed all of them, creating more as one was used to eliminate insects. Slowly all the insects were getting killed, and they stopped trying to attack him. They started to crawl to the sides of the pool, revealing the floor for the first time in a long time.

Rufus then pulled his wings back in and walked out from the pool of insects with heavy wounds all over his body.

"Hehe.....I think I cheated," Rufus said right before he collapsed.

The queen then quickly stepped in and caught Rufus right before he hit the floor.

"No worries, young king. You did well. You did well," she said
