Pizza Time

Kitty seems to be in a great mood after winning her daily battle with Kurt as she hops around town, leading us to find a good place where we could stop to eat.

Kurt, who has now accepted his fate of buying everyone food, constantly tries to stop at cheap street food stalls, but Kitty is having none of it as she takes us to a small pizza shop.

However, looking at the prices, I think Kitty did, in reality, have Kurt's wallet in mind as the prices are extraordinarily low for the sizes of pizzas they offer. Looking at the menu, Kurt recovers from his short state of depression and tells us all to order whatever we want.

"Did you really think I would take you to some expensive place? It's the quality that matters, I found this place with some friends some time ago, and the pizzas here taste great." Kitty says, taking a bite of her salami pizza.

"Ah, I knew I could trust you not to bankrupt me, I never doubted you even for a second," Kurt says, going in for a hug but getting blocked as Kitty's palm lands on his face.

"Don't misunderstand, I'm just saving your money so you could buy me lunch next time too," Kitty says as Kurt retreats and returns to eating his own pizza.

Watching the two's antics from across the table, Rogue, I, and Gwen sit quietly and eat our pizzas. Gwen and I decided to share a large-sized pizza since I felt a little bad for taking advantage of Kurt's wallet.

By the way, during our walk here, I found out that Gwen and Kitty already know each other as the two used to be classmates in earlier years of school. Rogue had met Gwen a few times, but the two weren't very familiar, which is why she didn't recognize her at first.

"Hey Anna," Gwen says from my right side, getting the attention of Rogue, who is sitting to my left by the window., "Why are you eating pizza with those gloves on?"

Hearing the question, Anna nearly chokes on her pizza slice. "Uh… fashion?"

"Arent they getting dirty, though?" Gwen asks, not knowing it's actually so she couldn't accidentally touch someone.

"I have backup pairs." Rogue says, making Gwen just look at her weirdly for carrying several pairs of gloves around, "Don't question it."

Why was I placed in the middle when these two have been chatting with each other the whole time? I offered to switch seats with one of them but immediately got shut down.

"Well, look who we have here." I hear a voice from behind us as a trio approaches. Using observe on them, I identify them as John Allerdyce, Lance Alvers, and Pietro Maximoff, respectively known as Pyro, Avalanche, and Quicksilver from the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Wait, Pietro Maximoff? Why is he here instead of being experimented on by Hyrda? The only reason I could see is that rather than the MCU story of the Maximoffs' parents being killed in a bombing utilizing Stark tech, they are children of Magneto like in the comics.

"Oh great, it's you." Kitty scoffs, looking uninterested as she continues eating.

The trio sit down at a table beside us, and Lance asks, "So what are you all doing here?"

"We're at a pizza place, what do you think we are doing here?" Kurt says that and then falls quiet for a few seconds as the Brotherhood members slowly start feeling stupid. "We're out eating with some new friends."

After that last part, he signaled to the two of us with his head. The Brotherhood trio all nod understandingly, it seems everyone here just made a silent agreement to not talk about anything mutant related with us around.

Wait, did Kurt say friends? I hope that means the quest is completed? The notification for the quest, however, didn't pop up no matter how much I waited, I'm just hoping it will once I get home.

The brotherhood members ordered their pizzas, and for the next few minutes, they had an intense staredown with the X-men members, with me and Gwen stuck in the middle feeling awkward.

"So, uh… what class are you all in? I'm in 12-C, by the way, together with Gwen." I say, trying to get them to stop glaring at each other.

"12-B," Rogue says, "Together with Kitty and John."

"12-A with Kurt, we're the best of friends, aren't we?" Lance says, and Kurt just shrugs.

"12-D," Pietro says, not looking very interested in the conversation.

"Pietro, didn't you have a sister in another class?" I ask, and he just looks up at me with a perplexed expression.

"Sister? Uhh, I don't have a sister, where did you get that from?" He says. For a moment, I think he is lying, but the confusion on his face is so genuine, making me believe he doesn't actually know anything about Wanda.

Everyone stopped talking and returned to their staring contest. I tried to start a conversation a few more times, but these two groups were not mixing well.

Thankfully, it ends as we finish our food and exit the small restaurant, leaving the trio to continue their meal.

After leaving, the members of X-men tell us that they need to get going back home. They explain that they all live at a boarding school outside the city and only come to attend Bayville three days a week while they spend the other two days at their own school. Obviously, the boarding school they mention is Xavier's institute for gifted youngsters.

Taking their leave, I see a police car pull up beside us, driven by a man who looks a lot like Gwen.

Gwen introduces him as his father, George Stacy, who is a police captain. Letting her daughter introduce him, George looks very proud of himself.

Gwen gets on George's police car, and the two drive off. She had apparently texted her father to come pick her up while we were eating so she wouldn't have to go home by herself.

With everyone else gone, I also began heading home, getting increasingly worried as there had been no notification about me completing the quest. I really didn't want to have to wait until Monday to have another go at it.

The second I get home and close the door to my room, I finally get the notification I had been waiting for.

Suddenly I am really glad the quest completion didn't happen earlier as all the rewards materialize in front of me, falling to the ground. It would have been difficult to explain this to the others if it happened in the middle of lunch.

Anyways, time to go try these out.
