Jacob's Final Decision

Jacob paused before answering. "No... I don't think so. She's more of a grandma to you than endangering you. Otherwise, she will not bring this subject of marrying you, but not directly telling me. But somehow, I knew she wanted me to take you. The rest is just propping."

"Were you surprised?"

"Quite, but I'm thankful that I know the women," he joked. "So what exactly happened to you?"

"Let's say I was desperate," she said honestly. "I do not applaud my grandmother's will. I believed I could escape it, but at the last minute, I decided not to. I realized she's getting old, and I don't want to see her hurt. And this one I'm carrying wasn't one of my plans to spite her. It just happened..."

"So, where's the father of that?"

"I don't know..."

"What?"

"I... I mean, I don't know where to find him..."

Jacob's eyes widened at what she said. "What's that... A hit and run?"
