"What is this?" He hissed, somewhat feeling disgusted. "Are you trying to make me jealous? Is that what you're doing now?"

"Excuse me?" She asked in return, annoyed as well. "You're completely out of line now."

"Are we going to start this petty quarrel because of him?" Jacob retaliated with irritation written on his face.

"Look who's talking. Why would I make you jealous when it's out of the question? Remember, you said that's not allowed in our marriage?" She reminded him. "But even if you are, not necessarily because all I wanted was to know how he became like that."

She was smirking quietly. "Because I want to understand what's wrong with me..."

He was still not saying anything except his eyes were on her face, probing.
