Treading On Dangerous Ground

JACOB sat in the office that his grandfather used to occupy for so many years, recently updated. His grandfather had adorned the wall behind his desk with his degrees and associations in heavy frames that now were replaced by local artisans' paintings of shore scenes, one of his wife's favorite spots. And on the credenza behind the desk now sat pictures of his family and one framed with his grandmother. He frowned, thinking why the picture framed with his wife together and the framed picture with her and their twins had disappeared. Who could have gotten it?

In some ways, it still seemed surreal to be back in one after that accident that made his memory blackout though not entirely but leaving the memory of his family buried in his head is mind-boggling.
