(CHAPTER 2.5: THE FIRST NIGHT)

She awoke in the middle of the night. The growling of the monsters outside makes her shudder. She turn her head away from the window, away from the horror of the outside world. But what entered her eyes was a huge width back, with boulder like shoulder. She suddenly found herself interested towards the thing. Carefully she started to use her tip of her fingers to draw lines on the scars and trenches. As if every single one of them is alive, telling her about his adventure, his fights. As she draw slowly and slowly, she felt sleepy, her eyelid started to drop and slowly she was asleep. But what she don't know is that, Hero, he is still awake.

"Goddamit, girls." He cursed in her mind as he tried to get out of the bed slowly, trying not to wake her up. He would rather slept on the ice cold floor than getting his back touched again than a random stranger that show up at his house. As he slowly get his feet out of the blanket and on the floor...

"Thump!"

An arrow hit the window beside, creating a loud noise. And that sound triggered her as she hugged him even tighter and pull him back to bed. "What the." Hero screamed internally as he peeked towards the window, two skeletons were shooting at each other, looks like one of them miss aimed and hit one another. Before he could let out another curse, he was dragged back, this time closer.

This is bad.

This is real bad.

He tries to struggle out of her grip but the more he resist, the stronger she hugs, as if he was his personal teddy bear. And at a point they were literally glued together. He felt that his back was stick onto a warm dough that he usually make with the wheat he harvest, with small thumps echoing out of it, so close that he could even hear them clearly. By now he has gave up on escaping, he is now trying his best to breath. As he open his mouth, gasping for air like a fish on land. As every breath he take is filled with a natural sweetness he couldn't tell, he felt his body was on fire. But he has no idea, all that he can do now, is wait.

As the night passes, her grasp finally loosen, and slowly, she finally let go, and turn around. And by that time it was almost dawn. He finally free. He stood up from the bed and stared at her.

"Darn brat."

With that, he goes to find a nice comfy spot at the corner of the house before crouching down and slept.
