(CHAPTER 12: DISTRACTION)
Hero slip in the last dynamite stick into the hole and he let out a thumbs up. Brine turn around and found out that Captain Black has already finish doing his part. "Well here goes nothing." She pulled out his bow and let out an arrow that struck right at one of the Guardians patrolling nearby. The guardian that was hit let out a deep moan. The rest turn their head around to the direction where the arrow was fired as they swam towards Brine. Brine turn around and swam away as fast as she could. The swiftness potion really boosted her speed but it was no match against the guardians who are now right on her tail, just a few blocks away from her.
One of the guardians suddenly slow down as its eyes glow, charging a concentrated beam of water before shooting towards her. The laser misses her barely, she turn around and let out another arrow, this time aiming right at its eye. The guardian let out another moan as he fall back as his position is replaced more guardians, who came for the commotion.
Just when they almost got her, a huge explosion triggered as the ravine beside them started to fell down. Burying the guardians who are on the chase as Brine barely make it out. But it was now way too early to relax, as the collision has alerted almost every single guardians within or patrolling outside the monument as they all swam out and headed towards them. There were at least a hundred or maybe twice, they took out their weapon, preparing for the bloody massacre coming towards them. Hoping that Edward and Gale better act fast.
15 minutes left.
The guardian charges upon founding them. Some stay back as they shoot out laser beams while some headed headfirst like a spike ball of destruction. "Brine! Focus the guardians behind! We will deal with the rest!" The captain commanded as he threw his anchor towards one of the charging guardian like a torpedo, knocking him unconscious with one hit. He grab the chain that was tied at the end of the anchor and let out a huge swing, knocking four more like bowling pins.
"Cool." Hero let out a chuckle before flashing out his saber and joined the battle. He utilizes the buoyant of the water as he charges towards another group of Guardians dashing towards them. With a swing he slice through the four guardians at the front easily before blocking the impact of the remaining four with his shield. The force send him flying back towards the wall but he is able to stop before impact and bounce back to the battle. Brine let out another barrage of arrows, due to the fact that light moves differently in the water, her shot often misses by inches. She reload her arrow once more and aims at one of the guardians, but this time she aims a little upwards, and just as she expected it was a direct hit. "Nice!" She let out a cheer as she continue firing, it took some practice to get used with, but at least she know where her problem was.
"Er captain?" Hero signaled right after he finish knocking the Guardian in front of him out cold with the handle of his saber. "What?!" Captain Black replied as he knock out another guardian with his anchor before pulling it back to launch it again. "Why are they here?" Hero pointed towards the three black figure emerging out from the Ocean Monument as they headed towards them.
They are a lot larger, with grey plating scales instead of turquoise blue ones. Their eyes appears murkier and duller with navy blue spikes piercing out of their body. They are much faster than the rest of the Guardians, and a lot stronger and experienced as one is able to dodge Brine's shot easily.
Captain Black look towards the figure and found out that they are no ordinary Guardians, they are Elder Guardians. "Well, looks like we are in a different level of problem right now." He let out a sigh as he threw his anchor towards them. Hero grab hold onto the chain of the incoming anchor as he lunges towards the ancient beast, he uses the momentum created by the throw as he twirls around like an underwater tornado and with his saber outreach, slicing through the Guardians blocking the way.
The anchor hit one of the Elder Guardian with a direct hit as it let out a deep bellowing, stunning him giving Hero the chance the hop onto his head and drew his saber deep down, getting rid of the first Elder Guardian. The other two let out a roar of anger as one dashes towards Hero, slamming him right before he could hold his shield up, sending him into the wall of the ravine. "Hold on boy!" The Captain pull his anchor back and threw it towards the ravine wall beside Hero, fixing the anchor deep within the walls. He coil the chains on his palm and with a pull he is able to lunge himself towards the direction where the anchor was fixed like a monkey swinging from vine to vine. As he landed on the wall, he pulled the anchor out and was able to throw it towards him, striking the Guardian with that was charging towards Hero, knocking him out of his course as it ram its head right into the wall blocks away from Hero before falling unconscious and sank into the cold, dark water.
"You okay boy?" He asked as he pull Hero out of the crater. "Yeah that hurts a lot." He let out a chuckle, flames were bursting in his eyes as it has been long since he ever felt the excitement before for a very long time. "I am ready." "Let just hope they would better act fast, I didn't want to be fish food." He let out a chuckle as both of them turn around and headed towards the horde of Guardians that has already surrounded them.
