(CHAPTER 36: LEGEND)

Legend has it. There was a weak man, a nobody who invented a one and only martial arts.

Devoted towards the weak, to fight against the strong.

This martial arts has been listed as one of the strongest takedown martial arts ever. And the man who invented it has become a true legend.

In another place, there is a legend of its own too.

A man born without sight, without limbs. Basic chore and even daily activities were even a hustle towards him. He was abandoned by his family as a symbol of bad luck into the depth of the jungle, and yet he survived.

He saw the injustice of the world with his heart, he swear his oath to protect people who god are against with, like him.

He leaded a revolution at the badlands, ending the slavery of millions and forcing the mineshaft to crumble. He was a symbol of peace, justice and freedom. He is also a long living legend to his people.

What if, these two legends fought?

"Finally! Ladies and gentlemen! The final round of today!" Two frail old man step into the light and stood at each side of the arena. "One of them, the legendary creator of Taki Orosu, Mr Taki!! And his opponent, the freedom fighter, Vassi!!" The two men bow at each other as a sign of respect to each other, a legend to another. "I don't know how much honor I am to see you two together on stage." The referee spoke as the two take their position. "May the best fighter win." Taki spoke. Vassi nodded and let out a deep breath. "Fighters ready!!"

"Fight!!"

The two stood still even after the signal, waiting. The crowd grew silent and watches, waiting for the storm to rage. Vassi strike first with a sidekick, Taki held his arms up to block the kick, but his long slender leg is like a whip, the kick crack open his kimono. He gritted his teeth to hold the pain, and when another kick strike, he has no idea but to dodge.

The kicks rains like rain, Taki has no any other choice but to keep dodging the hits. There is a clear disadvantage at Taki in terms of combat range, and by the looks of it, Vassi grew notice towards this fact and decide to keep the match like that. Waiting the right time to strike and end the fight, one wrong move is all it takes to take a man down.

But Taki has a plan of his own.

Just like any other sport, a fighter always have a phase, or window to breath and change the air in his lungs to support the excessive amount of oxygen needed. Not much people can spot the window, but experienced fighter like Taki can find it or even predict it right on. That is the only few second when a fighter's defense and instinct drops down, open for all sort of attack. But the time of the window also differs, from a few second to even a millisecond. All it needs is experience and a perfect timing.

Taki continue dodging the hits and when the time came, he dashes towards Vassi. Vassi spot him and landed a front kick but he dodge it and tackle him on the waist, he grab him by his throat and with a slight twist, Vassi was hurled into midair. A normal people would've struggle to land safely, but Vassi managed to land safely on foot, and didn't seem to be affected by the attack.

This is why Vassi is the worst kind of opponent to Taki.

A normal people has joints or lock along their body. The Taki Orosu Martial arts mainly focused on those body parts, allowing people without physical advantages able to gain upper hand in the fight. But to Vassi, he barely has anything that fits the fight style of this martial arts. A normal people have 18 joints, but without his limbs, Vassi only has 10 joints, dramatically shrinking the available target on his body. And after years of training, Vassi is basically a rubber man, making him kicks able to bents and arc like a whip, making it unpredictable and dangerous. As takedown martial arts is more towards hurling, knocking down and joint locks, Vassi is basically built to defeat Taki.

Taki panted as he skitter across the entire arena dodging the hits of Vassi. When he finally awaited the window to be open, he jolt towards Vassi once again he try to lock onto the only limb of his entire body, the legs. He strike his palm at Vassi's and forces him to the ground, with one swift move, he cross his legs onto the joint at his hips and lock onto it. With his another hand, he grabbed onto his leg and pulled with his might, securing the leg.

The kneebar.

Just when he was about to dislocate the leg from the hip, his other leg suddenly began to twist and recoil like a spring. Taki immediately let go of his leg and raise his hand up to guard the kick. The leg burst out a like a spring, hitting him right on his arm. The hit send him flying and slamming against the wall of the arena. The moment his body clashes into the wall, he lie his body flat onto the concrete wall in order to diverse all the force into the wall. With a huge roar, the wall cracked and shattered. "That is dangerous." Taki rub his arms which are heavily damages, with visible spot of dark purple bruises on it.

Through recoiling the muscles within the leg and bursting it out like a spring, a recoil kick can almost kill an unwanted fighter right on impact. For Vassi who uses his leg for the entire of his life, the attack is even more devastating. "That is dangerous." Vassi rub whisper under his breath and threw out a few kicks to soothe the joint of his legs. If he didn't act fast, he would lost the leg with just a slight twist.

"You are one hell of a fighter Taki." Vassi let out a smile, "You too." Taki leap out from the crater and rub his hand, excited for what is up on his opponent's sleeve.

The fight is far from over
