Going to US

"What!?" Mom shouted so loud the whole neighborhood could hear. "My little brat is getting a scholarship in the US!?" Jervin ran a sweat, she is the definite of a soccer mom.

"yes…ms. Kenshin…I have taken a interest in Kazuya basketball ability and want him to join a camp which is being held in Florida were big stars is coaching them and partake in tournament which is going to be held over all US states…I was only on vacation till I met him, it wasn't a part of a plan…but it is now…"

my mom, Sadomi Kenshin, was thinking and thinking. She was thinking for so long that I started to get a little bit worried. Eventually she smiled and said, "I guess if it's something you really want to do, then I won't stand in your way. But you're going to have to work hard if you want to make it to the tournament, if not I'll be dragging you home…" Despite her tsundere attitude, I could tell she was excited for me...just like my past mom.

Jervin said, "Splendid! I'm glad you're both on board with this. I'm sure Kazuya will make the most of this opportunity and prove to everyone that he can make it to the tournament!"

—after departing day—

Momoi was sitting on the grass thinking about Kazuya flying to the US, she was both happy and sad at the news. She was happy for Kazuya, and excited that he had been given this opportunity, but she was also sad that he had to leave and that she wouldn't be able to see me for a while.

As sad as Aomine was for Kazuya, he was also sad that he would miss him. While he understood that Kazuya had to take this opportunity, he couldn't help feeling disappointed that he would no longer be able to spend time with his friend.

"I don't want him to go…"

"don't be like that…I'm sure we just need to wait… wait for him to come back…"

Momoi said looking up at the sky, the yellow sunset, "We will be waiting for you, Kazuya. Make sure to come back to us safe and sound."

—-------------------------

(AN:sorry I skipped the departure...you know part.)

Kazuya waited inside the plane feeling a mix of emotions. He was excited to be going to the US, but he was also anxious about what his future held. He had no idea how his basketball camp experience would turn out or what the tournament would be like. He tried his best to distract himself, but he couldn't help feeling nervous and bored. He watched movies, read books, and even took a nap, but he was still left with a feeling of unease. He could only hope that everything would work out for the best.

He thought of Tahiro Seiji, the player who had beaten him in the fight but lost the match. He was determined to get his rematch, and he was sure that this time, he would be ready. He was determined to grow stronger in the US and beat him when he came back…stronger than ever.

He finally landed after some hour and was even more tired than usual, sitting for hours made him stiff and he felt he had to stretch when was finally free from the intoxic smell of the airport and the plane seats, I didn't know I would hate the smell, the warmth and sour smell in the air was killing the mood, thank god Florida was a cleaner state with fresh air.

I saw someone hold up a sign: Welcome Kazuya Kenshin. This man had blonde hair and red sunglasses and He had a friendly, welcoming expression on his face that put Kazuya at ease. His blonde hair was meticulously styled and he was wearing a cool Hawaiian shirt. He had a relaxed, easy-going demeanor that was a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere of the airport. Kazuya was relieved to see him and felt a little more hopeful about his journey.

"Oye, nice to meetcha. I'm Robert Smith Jean. Let's pop the trunks and hurry to the sunshine state, shall we?"

They quickly loaded their luggage into the trunk of the car and got in. Robert started the engine and they began the drive towards their destination. The sun was setting, painting the sky with a beautiful array of oranges and pinks. The ride was peaceful and Kazuya felt his worries drift away with the wind.

"Hey Alex, I heard someone got scouted by Mr. Jevin himself. Apparently he is from japan."

Her friend told her as they were sitting in the living room eating ice cream and chugging down Beer cans.

Alexandra muttered the words to herself and wondered if the Japanese player was as talented as her own disciples. She hoped that if he was, he would benefit from the mentorship of Mr. Jevin and become a great player himself. She also thought of the potential for a friendly rivalry between her own disciple and the Japanese player. She smiled to herself, excited to see what the future had in store.

The next morning, Kazuya awoke to the sound of birds chirping and the sun shining through the window. He got up and stretched, feeling refreshed and ready to start his first day in a new city. Robert had already left for the day, so Kazuya made his way down to the kitchen to fix himself breakfast. He thought about the day ahead and wondered what kind of people he would meet and what kind of opportunities could be awaiting him. With a smile on his face, he finished his breakfast and headed out to the camp which was some walks away.

Kazuya changed and just dribbled the ball between his legs and he then tried some simple basketball moves such as crossovers, behind-the-back dribbles, and spin moves to get around defenders which weren't there…yet. He also practiced shooting layups, jump shots, and free throws.

As he was doing these small drills he listened to the sound of shoes making squeaking sound against the wooden floor. He stopped and looked up, and to his surprise he saw an elderly man wearing a pair of lime-green basketball shoes matching his lime-green outfit. The man smiled and said, "Glad to see someone else here early in the morning. My name is Liam Kent Parker, I'm the camp director here. I was watching you just now, and you seem pretty good."

"Thank you..?"

"Well I won't keep you busy, just go easy on the drills as you may exhaust yourself before the actual camp starts." Kazuya nodded in agreement and thanked the man for his advice. Liam smiled and waved goodbye before walking away. Kazuya then resumed his drills. He stopped practicing until the camp officially started and was ready.

As soon as quarter passed, more and more came to the gym. Once everyone had settled down, Liam called out names for the teams. Each team was assigned a number and a color. The teams were then separated into their respective courts. Once the teams were in place, Liam began to explain the rules of the game and the drills that each team was to do. He then began to say it was a normal play between the teams and there will be a scoreboard and a lot of different ways to impress. Kazuya was attentive as he listened to Liam and the instructions.

"Alright you may all begin when the instructor blows the whistle."

Kazuya was a member of the blue team and someone approached him when he was standing ready for the game to begin. "Hey there, I'm Cory Wick. I'm a shooting guard and I'm glad to meet you."

"Likewise…I'm Kazuya Kenshin, a small forward and a point guard, I can play those better than the other roles."

Cory nodded and gave a thumbs up. As the two of them were about to start their conversation, the referee blew the whistle and the game began. Both teams were eager to show off their skills, and the match soon commenced.

Our drop taker has the upper hand after the ball has been tossed up and both people are on equal footing. After receiving the ball, Cory began analyzing the court, his eyes glowing with excitement. After dribbling upward and passing by two people, he instantly passed to his left side when an opponent cut in his way. "Pass!" He shouted, "Oh no, you don't! His marker is closing in...but he wasn't fast enough. He got the ball and hopped straight to the basket. He said that he made an easy lay-up.

"don't worry it's only 2-point we can easily get it back, let go."

They began trying their best to make it up the court but the counter was off so they made a passing game trying their best to get a shooting range. One made the mistake of sending the ball to an opponent and passed it to Kazuya…

Kazuya began dribbling the ball quickly, he was so fast that the opponents couldn't catch up. He zig-zagged around the court and eventually made it to the basket, shooting a perfect two-pointer.

The instructor wrote down a piece of paper and discussed it between themselves.

Sam ran toward the opponents. He had both me and Cory both on his side. i was marked by red #13, Cory by #7. Gin was under the basket while two others were marked on the side. It seems the opponent is trying very hard and seems to give their all just to show themselves to the coaches. ha so sweet. i or we gonna crush that. "Over here!" He looked at me. It seemed like he didn't have any other alternative than me and passed to me. The show is on.

I switched to the right and I caught him falling for my trap. I did a crossover and went left, leaving him behind. #6 moved in to block me, but I did a behind the back move and finished with a shot.

#4 seems to be going for a fake and running the opposite direction of mine. He tried a feint and just as expected I took the ball from him. before he realized I stole the ball out of his hand. I began dribbling upward. "hurry, take it back!" He tried running after my tail but he wasn't fast enough.

Judges stall*

It seems like it's decided we will be having him as vice captain and will be a hybrid player but will play like a small forward, his excellent dribbling out of danger and his talent for various playstyle. Now the follow ups are shooting guard Cory wick, power forward Sam Steady and Center Gin Guntama from team blue as their trough selection. from team yellow we have the appointed captain and the point guard Gold Nash jr and the power guard silver. Everyone in the stall nods. In the upcoming tournament we might have the best team in the national children cup, but we must always take caution if something were to happen. There are few who made it in the selection but they won't really get much play time, if they still haven't improved from this camp.

it all seems over for the other team they didn't have any motivation to play as the score grew further away.

82-43

—------

Some time later…"hey, Kaz! Let's play some more when you are done. I have asked the others who have passed, and they all agreed to come, so please come and don't be the only party-pooper who won't participate".

the annoying ""friend"" said while disturbing me while I am organizing my stuff out of the box I didn't do when I came here yesterday. I went back to Robert's place and Cory decided to pay a little visit.

I agreed to play after finishing packing out my stuff. We went out in the backyard since the gym was closed. When we reached the outside court there I was surprised, I didn't expect Nash and Silver to appear early on.

"So this is everyone?" he looked at Cory. who simply smiled and nodded. I looked around me and there were others including me and Cory so we are 10 in total.

the first Team: Nash, Sam, James, Kazuya, Cory / flaggerHawks

the second Team: Silver, Gin, Nate, Miguel, Zeke / fierce devil

"Hey, buddy seems like we are on the same team for this round".

Kazuya sighted…"yes. Unfortunately, I am on the same team as you."

"You are heartless…hurt my feelings."

"Oh,I'm sorry, not." Everyone got to their side of the field and was about to begin.

Both Miguel and James leapt at the exact moment the ball was thrown high up in the air and fought for possession. Due to Miguel's height, he won the ball in the air and passed it back to Gin, who began attacking the right flank while Silver overlapped behind him and block-screened Sam so he was unable to defend against Silver's dunk. However, Nash, who had been calmed by this confrontation, blocked him as he jumped. Against silver, he won in strength and surprised me.

Nash dribbled to the center and confronted a boy with dark brown hair and his front bangs were messy that covered some of his face, his eyes were that green where the sun could reach.

"I heard you like to use tricks, Zeke Beckett. Let's see what you are made out of, trickster…"

He stepped back and changed his pace again to the left after he deliberated his dash left and crossovered to the right. Even though the kid looked calm, I do think he lacked that little against Nash as he successfully left him in the dust and chased after him. As he approaches the hoop, Nash is once again facing the opposition, but he just shoots it. Due to the fact that he stood a mere foot outside of the three-point line, the scored 0-3.

dark brown tanned and somewhat rough neat hair, he has jade emerald eyes. and getting the ball felt excited by all these new players he will play basketball with. "mhm~. What a wonderful touch. The elegant way you move your wrist is so beautiful, I can see this will be an interesting match and the fight for the starting place would rather be...Hefty if I may say."

"They are only three points ahead and we easily get it back." and then they began their counter-attack. a boy with a darker complex than the rest of us began dribbling towards me. "Buenos dias.. or should I say Buenas noches. My name is Miguel Illescas."

He greeted himself while continuing to dribble.

" Some of my friends call me El Matador. Nice to meet you."

"Likewise, I am Kenshin Kazuya, some call me Kazuya or just Kaz. also known as the Shogun King." We continued to stare at each other to see who would let their guard down. "Ah! A Shogun in terms of a general, declined in the mid 19th century but outside referred to as powerful leaders…and a King means you value yourself very highly…I see." Miguel tried to catch me off guard and dribbled to the left, but I anticipated his move and quickly moved to the right, blocking his path. He then changed his direction and crossed over to the right, but I was able to keep up with him and stayed in front of him. He looked surprised that I was able to keep up with his speed, but he kept his composure and kept going.

Miguel was now dashing straight at me, and I knew he would wait for an opening and turn to one at my side at the best possible moment so I waited on his dance. He would so love to show men. but it never came as he passed to the boy with white hair who just had a smile on his face. The white-haired boy faced now against Cory as though he had him locked down he passed to the boy named Zeke who got beat by Nash.

"I'm paying you back for the goal." a moment of silence between the two as Nash carefully studied the next move.

"I would like to see that, Trickster!" and he waited on the boy and the ball. "don't call me that Blondie." and sidestep to the left and Nash follows him symmetrically. followed by crossover and reverse turn he got past Nash, but immediately got shut down since Nash was matching his speed.

"tsk, since I can't do much I leave it to you." as he said that he passed the ball up. and a tall giant flew up in the air. "Here comes the all mighty me!" as he dunk the ball right in the hoop. making it 2-3. "Well it seems like it won't end with a one-sided match afterall, let's continue the massacre. shall we?"

Nash sends the ball to me and Miguel seems eager to play with me. "you know I didn't like that you just passed without dancing with me, let me ask you again would you like to dance?" Miguel is still smiling. "Oh you make me blush, well since you asked nicely I would gladly dance with you."

I dribbled to the side and he followed closely at my moves. I looked to my left and he began to move his right foot just a little bit. I took the surprise attack when he was in a bad position. I hurriedly shifted direction and he just barely locked me down. I then reversed to the left where I originally went to and now I made a breakthrough as he was trying to catch up with me. Now I am facing someone with gloves and calculated eyes that follows my every move I make. well I had to take it up a bit. I Increased my tempo which made Miguel not catching up and the kid with gloves not sure if he can defend against me since it seems like he doesn't want to make a confrontation. well I don't mind using the space he won't cover up. I crossover-ed to my right and waited for the fake, which didn't come since there was no need for a fake because he let me shoot free. 2-5. "Nice shot Kaz!" Cory shouted. "You were simply moving too fast, partner, how about I take the lead now?"

I scoff at his words. "don't blame the player, blame the game, partner."

"Aw the king makes me blush, well let me show you. and you won't be disappointed."

"That's what everyone tells me. before they get trashed on."

The ball went to Miguel slowly dribbling towards me. He increased his speed, trying to catch me off guard. but I am faster so he slowed down disrupting my momentum and turned left trying to get my foot to slip, but I knew it was coming and regained balance and spun while catching it with my right hand I ran towards the hoop. I was once again 1v1 against this kid, I was lining up a shot but Miguel came back and disrupted my shot. It was only a few inches off, the ball hit the hoop and came down towards the kid with the gloves.

"what a dirty ball…"

"man that was a close one." I heard Miguel say while wiping off a sweat. "That's why you just don't go 1v1 against someone without having certainly calculated his range, his skill and his body shape and just rush in for the thrill of fighting someone." the kid with gloves says and dribbles the ball for an attack. "Come on dude what the fun is with that beside it just a friendly match there no need to be so emo wanna-be spouting nonsense."

"Hey Kaz! seems like we will have to put our dance aside, come on shorty let's get serious.'' The kid was angry with his teammate but he ignored his mockery. Sam got in front and stood in his way.

went to attack he did many forms of turnovers and sidesteps and would keep his distance away from Sam. Sam losing his patience went on a full attack and as expected he got past the kid and he had a perfect line up shot.

flaggerhawks 5-5 Fierce Devil

—-----------------------------------------

"Tch you just had to sell yourself… I can't see why they chose you to pass, guess they were just desperate to put together one trash of many together with us jewels." Nash said and Sam was shamefully clenching his mistake.

The ball was in my hands and now Miguel and Gin are together trying to block me. unfortunate for them. I don't know why but the burning sensation in my eye may sting, but now I can clearly see so much better. I can see the distance, the length of everyone and if it is possible to make a shot or not. It also seems like my head has been cleared of any distractions and Cory and I shook them off. Gin was gaining on us and I could feel the pressure of his presence. He was almost upon us but Cory stepped up and blocked him off, giving me just enough time to pass the ball to Sam who was waiting a few feet ahead. Sam collected the ball and we began to pass them.

Nash was overlapping Sam and he passed the ball to him, allowing Sam to line up the perfect shot. He released the ball with perfect form and it sailed through the air towards the hoop. It hit the backboard and went in, giving them the lead. Nash smiled in satisfaction, knowing that his pass was the one that made the difference.

"I must admit…I may be a little wrong about you Sam Wilsons, and the rest of everyone here, just don't drag me down when we are playing in the tournaments…"
