THE CHOICE

"FATHER, is it a good time to talk right now?" Eclaire asked when she entered his father's study. Then she frowned when she saw the mountain of documents on his table. "You just recovered, Father. Please take it easy."

"I'm not overworking, I promise," her father said in a hurry. "In fact, your Aunt Aileen allowed me to do this. I'm just checking the final designs of the subjugation team's uniform."

"That's a relief then."

Her father stood up and pointed at the sofa in the study's lounge area. "Sit down, daughter. I'll ask the servants to bring refreshments."

She did as she was told.

A few moments later, Eclaire and her father were already having coffee together. The Perkins used to enjoy tea before she came. But now, she had influenced her family to love coffee as she did.
