"Crashcourse? Damnit, what's so important that you've got to rush off in the middle of a fight?" I yelled after her, but she was already running, heading straight for the corridor of offices that we had walked through when we were infiltrating the Vault complex.
As much as I wanted to get angry at her, I couldn't think about it for too long. I was needed in the ongoing battle.
Pester had done something smart with her power, she was flying around twenty feet off the ground, standing on board one of her needles.
In front of her, a mass of energy was forming itself into another gigantic pointed object, a swarming blur of green coming together and growing larger and larger. It was almost as big as her. A needle the likes of which I'd never seen before, at least as long as two people stacked on top of one another and three-foot-wide at the base.
"Well damn," I muttered to myself as I let loose a heavy beam of energy from the palm of my gauntlet toward her.
But I was too late.
