Chapter hundred and fifty nine: Admission of guilt

Tears streamed down her face as she cupped his cheeks. Jason didn't even know he was so emotional himself until McKenna wiped his tears.

"I am so sorry. I am really sorry, McKenna. It wasn't intentional, I swear to God, I didn't mean to forget you or our kids. Oh my God, I almost cheated on you!"

McKenna chuckled and cried at the same time.

"But you didn't. Even when you didn't remember you had me, Jason, you couldn't hurt me like that and of course, I know it wasn't intentional. How could it be?" McKenna asked him.

"But why? Why would I choose to forget you and the girls?" Jason asked her.

"You didn't, dummy. It's brain injury for a reason"

It took her a long time to realize that it wasn't his fault that he got sick. And McKenna knew that deep down that it would take Jason some time to figure it out for himself too.
