Ch. 13 Jay is Back in Town

Mark shoots forward and gives Jay a hug. Jay opens his arms before Mark crashes into him.

A small shockwave bursts from the impact between the brothers that causes Rex and Dupli-Kate to cover their eyes. Eve's hair gets blown behind her as she watches from the air.

Jay puts his arms around Mark. "Long time no see little bro"

Mark squeezes Jay before letting go and taking a half step back. He looks angrily into Jay's eyes.

*WHAM*

Mark suddenly punches Jay in the face but it does nothing. Mark takes his fist back and takes a step back as his eyes widen. He wanted some payback for the kick, but for Jay to not even budge…..

Jay smiles at Mark. "You're going to have to do better than that"

Jay raises his arm into the air and brings it flying forward towards Marks face.

"Jayden!"

The voice causes Jay to freeze and look up, out of the crater. He sees a woman wearing black and silver armor.

Rex looks at Iron Woman. "Who the fuck is Jayden?"

Mark wasn't even able to bring his arms up in time to block the punch and is left wide eyed as the wind rushes past his face and cracks his goggles. The ground around them also cracked.

Jay drops his arm. "Suzu?"

He disappears from his spot and reappears in front of Iron Woman. "I see you finished the suit" He says like he didn't disappear at all.

The front part of Iron Woman's helmet opens and reveals the beautiful face of Suzu. Jay had waited so long to be able to see this face again.

"You idiot" Suzu says as she hugs him.

Jay puts his arms around the suit she is wearing. "I know" He leans forward slightly. "I missed you" He quietly says.

Teen Team looks at this reunion. Dupli-Kate and Atom Eve are confused like the others, but they find this sweet and touching.

"Can someone please explain what is happening?!" Rex shouts as he throws his hands into the air. "A little narration might be good too!"

Robot tries to scan Jay but his sensors don't pick anything up. If his suit had any tech he should be able to scan it, but he isn't able to detect anything.

"Not a chance Robot" Jay states and looks at the machine. "Not a chance"

Robot doesn't move or say anything in response as everyone wonders what he meant.

Mark finally recovers in the crater. He flies into the air and gets out of the crater. He looks at Jay's new superhero suit and is surprised that Jay incorporated tech into it. Weren't they, the Viltrumites, already the strongest?

Suzu looks up at Jay with tears silently falling from her eyes. "I see you also made a new suit"

Jay smiles and uses his right hand to wipe her tears away. "Yeah, I have to cancel the other one I had commissioned before my little adventure"

Suzu helplessly smiles at Jays nonchalant nature and puts her forehead on his chest.

"What happened to the Flaxans?!" Rex points at where the portal was. "Do we have to worry about them attacking?!"

Jay's face gets serious. He remembers the giant red planet. The 100s of millions of aliens. Their advanced tech. The way his ears were subjected to dangerous degrees of noises and he was thrown into a bright room that burned his eyes even when he shut them. The noxious smells that made his brain go fuzzy and roll. The explosions and mass destruction he caused in the end.

"No" Jay says and looks at the others. "They won't be bothering us anymore" He remembers crushing the skull of the scarred and caped Flaxan that kept getting promotion after promotion until the alien finally reached the top over the many years he was there.

"What happened?" Mark asks. "How did you come back?"

Jay taps Suzu on her back and turns to his brother with Suzu still tightly hugging him. "Let's just say they saw the light after I talked some sense into them"

Jay remembers being pulled through the portal. They were waiting for him and immediately put him in a box that immediately started bombarding him with high pitched frequencies that eventually led to his ears bleeding.

The Flaxans transported him to a room that shined so bright that his eyes burned even while they were closed.

For years they poked and prodded him in that room, never giving him the chance to retaliate. Because as soon as he tried they would increase the intensity. So even if he adapted, it was only a matter of time until they upgraded the room.

And at one point they found a way to make Jay's tachyons speed up to match their time.

And that was their downfall.

Jay hadn't aged much over the initial years because it had only been hours to him. But, once they sped his time up so to speak, Jay was then growing older. And as Viltrumites grow older they get stronger. And as they bombarded his senses, and had their fun testing on him, he slowly adapted to their torture.

Jay was eventually able to control his senses to an insane degree. And not only his senses but his body as well. He eventually grew as strong as his father, or maybe even stronger.

And when Jay learned their language he decided that these pests were better dead than to be left alone. They had already made such advanced technology that Earth would be destroyed in a day if they went there.

Jay wasn't able to hear them for a long time. But he eventually was able to learn it, proving the Viltrumites natural ability to learn languages at a rapid pace.

Jay broke out of his prison and started his rampage. He made sure to destroy anything that wasn't of use to him. Which basically was everything except the scientists and their buildings.

He finally didn't hold back for once and it felt exhilarating. He destroyed cities in seconds. He left their satellites to find the pockets of Flaxans that were still alive. Their military put up a decent fight, it almost made him sweat as he tore through their advanced armor. Jay admits that it would have been too much for any Earthling to handle. But he was a Viltrumite and it was just tinfoil to his fists.

Jay gathered all the terrified scientists and engineers on the planet and commanded them to do research on various things. Threatening their life, their families, and their entire race made them work extremely hard.

He learned what they knew and they helped him learn what they didn't know. Their tech got even more advanced than even they thought.

Jay was very thorough and didn't let any project go unseen by his eyes. He learned about anything and everything that could be of use to him.

And in the end he was able to make a new suit out of nano machines that were able to be controlled by his mind.

He also had to cut his long hair and shave his beard. He went back to his old look and looked maybe a year older when it had been decades that he had his tachyons sped up. He didn't want to look too different. But he was pleasantly surprised he looked the same. It would have been hard to explain if he suddenly looked older than his dad. In total, he had spent centuries in this dimension.

Once he had what he wanted he destroyed the last of the planet. He ripped the scientist's families apart before the scientists eyes and then killed the scientists. He then destroyed the satellites and tossed them down to the planets surface.

And then, just to be safe, Jay bore through the planets surface and into its core. He had a portal ready to take him back to Earth. It took a minute to go through the planet a few times because the planet was significantly bigger and denser than Earth. So the portal was left open longer than he anticipated. But it all worked out and he left before the planet exploded.

"What do we do now?" Mark asks in confusion.

"I don't know about everyone else!" Rex shouts. "But I for one think we should just take this as a win"

"I actually agree with Rex on this one" Robot says. "And if that's all then we should get going. And I believe that Cecil will want to see you Eternal"

Jay shrugs. "Probably" He turns to Mark. "Tell mom and dad that I'll be late for dinner tonight"

"That won't be necessary" Everyone looks at yet another new arrival.

Mark raises his eyebrows. "Dad?"

"Why are we having a family reunion?!" Rex points with both fingers between Jay, Mark, and Nolan. He then points at Nolan. "And Omni-Man?! He's your daddy?!"

Nolan glares at Rex for a second before looking at Jay. "We need to talk"

Jay looks at his dad. "Later, I have something to talk with Suzu about"

Nolan gets angry. "Now"

Jay looks at Suzu. "I'll talk with you later alright? We can even upgrade your suit a bit if you want"

"Do you think you can help me with it?" Suzu asks. Jay didn't specialize in the required fields to be able to help that much.

"I made my suit after all" He then flies into the air and looks at Omni-Man.

"Follow. Me." Omni-Man states.

Both Jay and Nolan take off at insane speeds which leaves the others watching them go.

"I know I said I'm glad this is over, but isn't this just a little anti-climactic?" Rex asks everyone.

Kate shrugs her shoulders.

Robot goes over to the crater caused by Invincible and Eternal. He scans the crater. "We are still in the rising action of our story"

Nolan arrives in the North Pole with Jay right behind him.

"You know capes are a little overrated right?" Jay says as he stands in the air across his father.

"What did you actually do with the Flaxans?" Nolan demands.

Jay holds his palm out to the side. "I'll show you"

A portal with blue energy opens instead of one with orange.

"Follow. Me." Jay jokingly repeats his fathers words. "You'll want to be prepared for the vacuum of space" He warns.

They both enter the portal.

Nolan enters and is met with the familiar feeling of the vacuum of space. He looks around and only sees the remnants of a destroyed planet.

Jay then gives a thumbs up and motions for Nolan to go back into the portal so they can talk.

Back on Earth the father and son stare at eachother. Both with their arms crossed. Their hairs getting blown around by the raging winds of a blizzard.

Nolan is the first to speak. "You do not tell anyone about what you did to the Flaxans. Do you understand me Jayden?"

"I understand the reasoning, but I'm not going to blindly follow you anymore dad" Jay says. "But I am happy to see you up and moving. I almost forgot you were nearly dead before I was gone"

Nolan drops his arms and sighs. "Haaah. How many years were you in there?" He looks at his eldest son who is acting very different.

Jay looks up. "I don't know exactly since the first few decades are a bit hazy, but I'd say it's safe to say a few centuries. But I only aged a fraction of that"

Nolan looks into Jay's eyes. "I'm glad you're back son"

"But…" Jay says.

"But… nothing. I'm glad to have my son back" Nolan says. "I've already seen enough and I trust your judgement. I'd have handled the Flaxans differently but it seems you did it your own way"

Jay raises an eyebrow. "No slap on the wrist for destroying an entire planet?"

"What do you want me to do Jayden? Ground you? Thought you were older than that?" Nolan jokes.

Jay smiles and shrugs. "Just thought there would be a different reaction you know?"

"Let's go home. I think Debbie wanted some pizza from Paris?" Nolan rubs his chin.

"Meet you there" Jay falls backwards towards the ground and falls through his portal and disappears.

Nolan drops his hand to his side and glares at the spot his son disappeared. "This complicates things"

Debbie is at home with Mark in the living room.

The front door opens.

"Guess who's back with dinner?" Jay walks in holding a pizza box.

Nolan walks in behind Jay holding a bottle of wine. "And a bottle of Chateau Mouton Rothschild"

Debbie gets up from the couch and hugs Jay. "I'm glad your safe"

"Thanks mom" Jay wraps one arm around his mom while the other is holding the pizza out to the side.

Debbie let's him go and grabs the pizza box. "You should go over to Suzu's. She's been waiting for you"

"I will. But can I at least grab a slice?" Jay tries to open the box.

Debbie moves it away. "No, now go" She shoo's him away.

"Alright, I'll get going" Jay turns around and opens the door.

Mark stand up and looks at Jay. "Is Suzu really Iron Woman? And is it based o-"

"Yes she is. And it might have been inspired by something we read a while back" Jay waves. "I'll see you later Mark"

Jay walks over to Suzu's house. He's wearing casual clothes and is now pizza-less.

He rings the doorbell and waits for a few seconds.

Jay is relaxing outside Suzu's door when he notices something coming from a house across the street from his parent's house. He turns to face it and narrows his eyes at its windows that are covered by blinds.

"Look who finally shows up"

Jay is stripped from his thoughts by Suzu's voice. He turns to Suzu and sees her wearing her pajamas. "I'm sorry, something came up" Jay walks up to her. "Or are you talking about the two week thing?"

Suzu sighs. "Just get over here" She hugs Jay tightly. "Don't do something stupid like that again" She quietly commands.

Jay wraps his arms around her. "You know who you're talking to right?"

Suzu holds him tighter. "And that's exactly why I said it"

Jay smiles as he feels her warmth. It had been so long….. "Did you eat? I haven't"

Suzu has her forehead on Jay's chest and shakes her head. "I haven't"

Jay floats into the air and shuts the door behind him as he gets into her house. "Want me to make something? Or I can go pick something up real quick from anywhere in the world?"

"Still not used to you being able to travel the world in seconds" Suzu admits as she clings to Jay as they slowly spin in the air in her living room. "Burger Mart sounds good to me, like old times"

"Ah…." Jay was about to say what that was, but he can't remember. "….what was that again?"

"Airhead" Suzu jokes as she puts her ear to his chest and listens to his heart beat.

Jay comes back with a burger and fries for Suzu and 5 burgers and fries for himself.

"I guess you're hungry?" Suzu asks as she lets Jay inside.

"You bet" Jay gets inside and sets the food down on the dining table. "You won't believe what I had to eat in the Flaxan's dimension. It's practically dirt compared to Earth's food"

Suzu sits down. "I'd probably be craving some Earth food if I had to eat dirt for some years too"

Jay sits down. "It doesn't bother you that I'm older now?" He asks seriously.

Suzu crosses her arms and looks into Jay's eyes. "Am I supposed to?"

Jay shakes his head. "No. I'm just asking"

Suzu can tell that this really means a lot to Jay. "Jayden. I think I would have drawn the line when you told me you were an alien. But shouldn't you have not gotten older?"

Jay smiles. "The Flaxans found a way to speed my tachyons up to match their dimension. But I got that stopped once I was set free and we talked it out"

Suzu puts her elbows on the table. "So, how many years are we talking about?"

Jay puts his chin in between his index and thumb. "A few? Not much. But I wasn't exactly given a calendar either"

"Those Flaxans are damn lucky they talked it out with you. Otherwise I'd of probably destroyed them until I found you if they kept you prisoner" Suzu states as she scowls.

Jay reaches across the table and rubs her arms gently. "Cmon. They won't bother us again" He looks at their food. "And our food is getting cold"

"Cold Burger Mart food is definitely not appetizing" Suzu says as she smiles at Jay.

They eat their food and finish at around the same time. Jay devoured his food since he actually hadn't had a good tasting meal in centuries.

Jay picks Suzu up and flies slowly over to the couch and sits down next to he facing the TV. Jay is on the end of the couch with Suzu next to him and leaning her head on his chest while her arms are wrapped around him.

Suzu looks around for the remote. "Ugh, remotes on the other couch" She goes to get up but Jay wraps an arm around her shoulder and keeps her next to him.

"I'll get it" Jay holds his hand out towards the remote and nanites come from under his clothes and form a tendril that brings the remote to his hand.

Suzu watches with an insane amount of interest. "I meant to ask you about that. Is your entire suit made out of that? And are those real nanites?"

"Yes and yes" Jay says as he smirks and turns the tv on.

Suzu looks at his hand where the nanites disappear back up his sleeve. "Tha-"

"BREAKING NEWS!" A female robotic voice exclaims from the tv.

A female reporter is behind a desk and trying to keep herself composed to deliver the news.

"I-I'm at a loss for how to report this but….." She pauses. "…the Guardians of the Globe…."

"….are dead…."

Suzu looks at the screen in shock. But her face barely shows it. "H-how?"

Jay is about to shut the news off and explain but the next news makes him pause.

The female reporter is moved to the right side of the screen as pictures start popping up. Not of the Giardians. But his own face and Suzu's. "In other news, Eternal is back after stopping the Flaxan invasions from occurring again. But that isn't all" She says, trying to get into a better mood after the previous news.

"Eternal's identity has also been revealed to be Jayden Grayson. A counselor at a public school. Hiding in plain sight. And that's not all" A picture zooms in on Suzu's face. "He also seems to be dating a new hero, Iron Woman. Who turns out to be Suzu Mitsu. Turns out she is the CEO of the MTC which we now know stands for the Mitsu Tech Company that has been a major role in many fields to this day. The main field being technology and making it available to common folk, but also is contracted by the government. Is this our next super cou-"

The reporter pauses. "Why the hell are we reporting on this? The Giardians are dead!" She exclaims and looks to her side. She looks back at the camera. "There is going to be a funeral held coming up where Omni-Man and Eternal are going to give a spee-"

Jay clicks the TV off. He looks at the screen and sighs. "Haaaah shit"

Suzu looks up at the ceiling. "I just don't even know how to respond to that"

Jay wonders what will happen next. "The Guardians we're killed and my dad was seriously injured. I couldn't say anything to you about it before because we were both busy. And I guess I'm giving a speech, but I wasn't even told anything about that. And about our identities being leaked-"

"It's fine" Suzu cuts him off. "I don't mind that my identity was leaked. I don't think it'll change much anyways. If anything I'll be popular. But what about you and your job?"

Jay wonders what this means. "I'm not sure. I might still try and work at the highschool but this might just force me to be a superhero full time"

"Is that what you want?" Suzu asks.

Jay looks at his reflection in the black screen of the tv. "I don't know what I want. I want to be Jayden Grayson with you. But I also want to save and help people as-"
