Making Their Move (Part 2)

'I really am no longer human' As Jayce attempted to put his mind back together, a robotic voice echoed through his mind.

[The System recommends the Host start taking the necessary steps to complete the current ongoing quest]

Being reminded that he was in the process of taking down a gang, he was able to take his mind off his current state and focus on what was more important, the quest.

'You're right, I should get a move on.' He's already made a move against them, once they realize someone is killing their men, they will do anything to figure out who it is.

Then, it will be only a matter of time before they find out it was him and dispose of him.

Thinking back on how he used the inventory, Jayce was able to store the cursed equipment in his soul without much trouble.

Now that he got the item he came for, it was time for the next step in his plan.

'Time to go pay the leader a visit'

---

"The perimeter has been established, ma'am"

"Okey Dokey, thank you for your hard work," Yuko said with a cheery expression. Being thanked by such a cute girl made the guard feel fuzzy on the inside.

"You may go now," Oliver stated as he stared at the guard who was seemingly staring into space. Snapping back to reality, the guard quickly bowed before returning to his post.

Shaking his head, Oliver moved his attention back toward the other student council members.

Including him, only five council members would be part of the raid, all of them having two stripes on their arms.

The rest of the members were either guarding the Academy or assisting the guards at other locations.

"As I stated before, we will be handling the ringleaders while the guards round up the members. Edward, you'll be handling Reagan, estimated rank, C-."

"He's a close-range fighter that uses knuckle-type weapons that goes well with his massive build."

"He is capable of using earth magic which he mainly uses to create a layer of rock around his body strong enough to deflect sword and arrows, think you can handle it?"

"Of course, if I couldn't handle something like this I wouldn't be able to call myself a member of the student council, isn't that right, President," Edward responded as he flicked his hair over his shoulder.

Standing under just under 6ft, Edward had lengthy, golden hair that fell to his waist.

Edward was quite popular among the female students in the Academy with deep blue eyes, long eyelashes, and a lean physique.

"Good. Yuko, you'll be subduing Evan. Unlike Reagan who is a mass of muscle, Evan is a skinny close-range fighter who uses a large scimitar."

"Along with his scimitar, he uses wind magic to not only accelerate himself but can also shoot out razor-sharp wind slashes from his blade.

"His estimated rank is to be between C- and C, don't let your guard down."

"Roger!" Yuko responded as she straightened her back and saluted him.

Ignoring her shenanigans, Oliver looked toward the two remaining members.

Both were female, one having short red hair and a petite frame while the other had brown hair tied into a braid and had a bigger bust size than the red-haired girl but wasn't too big either.

"Rose you'll be providing overwatch, help anyone who needs it but limit it towards the guards but I don't want any casualties."

"They recently have been getting lazy and incompetent which led to this situation in the first place. This will be their wake-up call to fix that." For a gang to turn this size only showed how poorly they have been doing their jobs.

One of the jobs of the student council is to be a type of law enforcement within the town; however, with their limited numbers and having to deal with dangers outside the Academy, they don't have the time or the members to constantly watch over the town.

"That's cruel, President" The red-haired girl responded with a mischievous smirk that contradicted her words.

Oliver didn't care if his actions were cruel, the guards were a mess and due to that, civilians were living in terror of being kidnapped or killed on a daily basis.

"Emily, you'll be on standby to aid the injured."

"Understood, President" The brown-haired girl replied in a low, calm tone.

Now that everyone knew the roles they needed to play, it was finally time to initiate the plan. But before he could, Edward spoke up.

"If you don't mind me asking President, what will you be doing?" Oliver had explained what everyone else would be doing except him.

Edward knew he wasn't someone who would stand by and watch as his members fight.

A small smile appeared on his face as he pushed his glasses up.

"I'll be dealing with Kaia."

'This is one of the leader's bases?' Jayce thought as he stared at a small warehouse from a rooftop.

From the information, he had gathered from Luis, the gang was composed of three leaders.

But in reality, only one of them was in charge while the other two followed her orders like obedient puppies.

Not only was she much stronger than the two combined, but she was also ruthless and cunning, letting her rise above the other two and taking the organization by the throat.

According to Luis, she had spent most of her time at this building, although he had never been inside.

Even though Luis served directly under her, which surprised Jayce, he was never allowed inside the building.

Jayce wasn't looking to pick a fight with their leader but looking for more viable information. With all of the leaders holding a meeting at a disclosed location, it was the perfect chance to sneak in.

For him to single-handedly take down this gang, he needed to know all of their base locations, how many there were, how strong they were, how they were making money, and where they were storing it all.

By having this knowledge, he would be able to take the Exterminators out piece by piece until they slowly fell apart. If he was caught once, he was dead, no way around it.

So he needed to play it smart and carefully plan out his next moves.

Thinking about wearing the cursed armor, the mark on his hand disappeared as the armor suddenly appeared on his body.

Even though he had the mask on, his vision wasn't restricted but it felt as if his field of view was increased.

'That's convenient.' He had assumed it would be like his inventory where it would appear in front of him and he would have to manually equip each piece.

With his stats increased, Jayce jumped over to the warehouse's roof despite the fact it was well over thirty feet away, without using his Synchro.

Almost no noise was made as he landed, peeking over the rooftop, Jayce saw two gangsters guarding the entrance.

Making sure that there was no one else around, he reached behind his back and pulled the shortswords out of their sheath as he took a step off the roof.

The gangsters were startled as Jayce landed right in front of them. Before they could realize what was happening, Jayce swung both swords, beheading the two gangsters.

Putting the swords back in their sheaths, he pulled back his leg and kicked the door, sending it flying into the building. Not wanting to waste any more time, Jayce made his way into the warehouse.
