Disgusted

Jayce's first impression of mages wasn't good.

They had threatened the erase his memory if he didn't join, then he met Isaac, who had tried to entice him into a duel and kill him, knowing full well that Jayce didn't have a fighting chance, and finally, Oliver who blackmailed him into doing his bidding.

Yet, others had this ideology that mages were honorable and brave people who risked their lives to fight the monster lurking in the shadows.

While he did meet a few good mages, they were limited to the number of fingers he had. Jayce didn't know if he was just unlucky or if most people hadn't seen a mage's true nature.

Most mages were egotistical and so blinded by pride that they'd lash at those around them simply because someone had poked their ego in the wrong way.

And thinking of mages as brave almost made Jayce laugh. If they weren't begging for forgiveness from someone stronger, they were suppressing those below them.
