"I'm free," Jayce said as he rubbed his neck that hasn't felt the touch of the air in months.

He was no longer bound to Oliver and didn't have to worry about it randomly exploding during fights or if Oliver felt like ending Jayce with the press of a button.

"Um...Could you please pick up the pieces?" Tess asked nicely, pointing to the broken collar on the floor.

"Although the security measures were turned off, there's still enough mana in the collar to be activated remotely."

Taking a second to enjoy not being leashed anymore, Jayce leaned down and picked up the parts, storing them in his inventory when Tess wasn't looking.

"Sorry," Jayce said, interrupting her as he checked the time. "You can get your favor after the festival ends and I'm running late."

Before she could even blink, Jayce was outside her dorm, heading for the elevator.
