The man had watched Jayce's fights during the elimination round more times than he could count so he was conscious of Jayce's speed and strength. Yet, experiencing it firsthand was completely different from watching it.

His guild had put their trust in him when they chose him for the tournament. They didn't ask for anything outrageous like winning the tournament but to earn experience in fighting with the best mages of the current generation and bring a good reputation to their guild.

As long as he was able to increase his guild's reputation, he had accomplished his mission. However, his pride as a mage wanted more. He knew that he couldn't win against the B-rank mages from the S-rank guild no matter, that he understood.
