My Demonic Contract

Jayce took the next few minutes of peace and quiet to mentally replay his encounter with the Artemis Guild. Once he was finished, he took a deep breath.

'So the Artemis Guild is protecting the Space Interruptor and I guess they're watching the tournament too since they decided to pay me a visit. But now that I think about it, why did they trust my words?'

When they asked him if he was a monster or not and if he was on the student council, they took his words as the truth without much fuss, making a thought cross his mind.

'Did they have a lie detector on them?' He thought.

If that was true, then he might have accidentally saved himself when he didn't answer with a yes or no question. He was still new to the supernatural world and didn't know what sort of magic and magical items existed.
