Season Two: Chapter Fourteen

Four months have passed. One day, Adrian got a call from the rehab center when he was in NICU to see his son. Against all odds, Alex was awake. She finally opened her eyes for the first time, but she wasn't herself because it appeared that she wasn't sure what was going on around her. She even seemed to not recognize him when she saw him.

"It's okay. We will take our time." Adrian said, tenderly and lovingly caressed her forehead with his fingers.

She was hopeful, but only cautiously optimistic, until a few nights later, when he was talking to her and things changed. She had since been able to squeeze his hand, blink, and follow movement with her eyes.

"She's improving day by day." The doctor said. "I think now that she doesn't have to support a whole second entity, hopefully we will see some improvements, as well. In the last forty-eight hours, she's really become a lot more responsive than she was."
