Bizarre Experience

"Let's go back to our topic alright kids?" Mahanta began his mini-lecture as he deemed the situation to be safe enough for indirect chatter.

"Void attack can be differentiated into 'melee' and 'range'. Melee is every attack that touched their weapon, while range is anything else." He goes on with his explanation.

"We start with range, there is, of course, a physical range when they use physical projectile like needle or arrows. Then there is a magical range, where they use projectile made out of magic or elemental energy."

Even though Revian and Althea are currently being bombarded with all kinds of projectiles, all the team member focused their attention on what Mahanta is saying (by ears at least). The two dragons themselves seemed to not budged by the unending interruptions.

"Range attack can be blocked by magic and holy material, which is why right now your friends right here unharmed by enemies efforts." Mahanta glances at the back of Revian's room, where pounding and clanking noises keep barging in from the Void's advance.

"What about melee?" Our protagonist asked, still curious why his Watcher thought his protection gears would be rendered useless.

"Melee is also divided into two types—normal melee and void melee." He continued to elucidate. "The normal one is just your ordinary physical melee attack, can be blocked by basically anything. While void melee… only holy material can stop it."

In the new world, some things are considered holy. These things are either stronger than their normal variant or just born in this world as a holy object or material.

To this date, all known holy materials are holy diamond, holy platinum, kokkradrium, holy graphene, and sacred tree's (Tree of Life and Chaos Tree) wood. There is a rumor about the existence of holy tungsten, but no one ever managed to find it.

On the other hand, holy objects are either artifacts, relics, heirlooms, or anything that are created by the Musicians and members of the Holy System.

"So you saying, we're safe in here, Sir Mahanta?" Anna asked, with a bit of an unconvinced expression on her eyebrows.

"Theoretically yes, Your Highness." Mahanta himself didn't seem to be quite sure about his statement.

"Yo! You guys done chatting? Some of them are coming towards you!" Hada suddenly shouted, interrupting the lecture to remind them about the current urgent situation… they're still on a battlefield.

"Oh, he's right, two of them, one wearing full plate armor with a helm on their head, while the other a demon mask, topless clothing, and all kinds of jewelry… but his body looks insanely strong (hard to examine with how they're built)," Anna reported, after observing the incoming enemy through Revian's back window.

"A Soldier and a Yaksha… this might be disastrous," Mahanta muttered to himself with his hand stuck on his chin, thinking of a solution.

"Soldier? Yaksha?" Sahasya asked the word Yaksha itself is kind of foreign to his ears.

"They're types of Void combat classes, both which can use void melee." The Watcher answered.

"But you said it can be blocked by holy mat—"

Not able to finish his sentence, suddenly a pitch-black sword with a pseudo solidity punctured the ice glass that covered the room's right window, and struck right beside that boy's cheek.

It emitted disturbing white mist, that felt so hollow just by being near it. The aura of emptiness and how heavy the air beside it was, showing fully that the blade was coated by void energy.

"That's a Soldier, the one that chopped your right arm before," Mahanta explained after Sahasya ducked to evade the attack.

However suddenly, a freezing wind smack the room and the sword turned frozen solid, covered in cyan ice, and reshape its aura into a cold mist. Seeing the sweet opportunity Mahanta set his spear ablaze and thrust it through the window at the now frozen Soldier.

*Crash!*

The Soldier shattered, and from its disappearance, is a sight of ice monkeys lining up their ice mirrors, facing them at where the enemy was. Meanwhile, in Althea's room, Hada was seen finishing his swinging stance.

"Sir! Behind you!" Sahasya shouted as the Yaksha came spinning his double-sided spear like a vortex, and a hollow white mist was drawn around it.

With full force, the Yaksha swung his spear, slashed it onto Revian's room. Dark energy split the air in half, creating a loud eerie sound that struck horror and pierces any ears who heard it.

The beast almost lost his balance, yet he took the time to close any gap from the left side of the room, protecting his passengers from the burst of danger.

"By the Conqueror's name…"

Just like Mahanta said, holy material is able to block void melee. But anyone who had eyes can see, how hard this room bend, following the shape and depth of the slashing spear.

"Revian, open the door!"

Mahanta yelled, and the dragon put a hole in the room for the Watcher to get out. He then pushed himself out, and by the first step he took outside, a black and white portal opened right before him. Without wasting a blink, the Yaksha emerged with his double-sided spear swung violently.

*Clank!*

But the Watcher stopped it firmly with his giant shield as tall as an adult man, made out of the Holy Platinum. And at that very moment, a burst of flame started raging, both from his eyes and his weapons.

"(Engulf)"

"Genlamed!"

From where the spear hit, a wave of fire began spurting out! Gigantic! Like a tsunami trying to devour every being of the Yaksha's body.

The flame was scorching hot, burning the air till it perishes to nonexistence. The Yaksha's body turned bright, and not a single shadow is left standing.

However, he's not gonna just be quiet and let it engulf him whole.

*Swish!*

What's once a wave was now a ball of fire, rapidly shrinking to the point where not a single trace of it is to be seen. The Yaksha's gone, but he left a mark of the Void floating in the air, as a sign that he's already teleported back to his realm, outside of the New World.

Not long after, five black and white portals also spawn right beside the other void folks, and they immediately walked into it, leaving the New World behind.

The air began returning to its normal weight, and breathing felt a lot easier than when they arrived. The assault ended and the team can finally be considered safe.

"Hm? Did they… leave? Just like that!? What a bizarre experience…" Sahasya was confused, yet also relieved.

"Is there an explanation for their departure, Sir Mahanta?" Chiya asked, she's happy that they're gone, but she can't help but be curious about it.

"To be perfectly sure, I don't know, although the God of Death said that the Void doesn't come near a member of the Holy System, which mean either His Holiness Verslinder or Her Holiness Austra currently present at the city right now, and those folks already traverse their safe distance."

Mahanta threw some kind of short spear at the place where his enemy last appear. He's thinking about reporting it to the Guild for further research.

"Well… at least we're able to achieve the goal of our orientation." Said Sahasya.

"The week hasn't finished yet though…"
