A Way There pt. 3

"Everyone still intact?" Sir Mahanta shouted to all of us as he hopped down from Revian's neck.

"All good, Sir!" We replied, uniformly.

"Alright, now every team please line up in front of your Watcher, we'll be entering the facility!"

We do what we are asked to do, and create a single line for each team from front to back.

Right now we arrived at where our journey would take place, the Garden of Verslinder, or something that His Holiness called the Zoo. I could hear the sounds of crow's and raven's caw and croak, singing fear to anyone who heard them.

It said that His Holiness cultivates every single living being on this Island of Kaput here, at his Garden. Though right now all I saw was a gigantic black gate, towering so high as if it touches the sky, while its wall is guarded by barbed wire on top of it.

On its doorway stood guard two armored weaponized humanoid creatures called the Living Corpses. As the name suggests they're once-living humans that had been revived by the God of Death using his dark musical power.

I've read that they have no soul, making them more like a puppet rather than a servant. However, their discipline is over the top, which can be seen by how they stood up, unmovingly.

The Living Corpses wore black armor and helmet, but their glowing dark purple eyes can be seen through the helmet vision. The color which the exact same as Chiya's.

On their hand, held a long gun, similar to a musket. However, its muzzle is shaped like a thin straight line rather than a circle. I have never seen it works in person, but from what I read, it shot dark energy instead of bullets. So I guess it's more similar to a wand rather than a gun.

"The whole facility will be guarded by tons of Living Corpses. But even so, please don't get separated from your teammates or dilly-dallying around like a total idiot. No one can save you if you were to be lost in this dark place." Said Sir Mahanta, reminding us to behave.

"Yes, Sir!" We replied with a loud, clear voice.

After making sure everything is set, Sir Mahanta and the other Watcher led us to enter the facility. The moment we're close enough to the gate, the Living Corpses spontaneously opened the way for us.

And behind it, I saw a long, endless road, with a bunch of black and purple buildings standing dreadfully near the wall. Within each side of the road, is another gigantic wall, which guards an area called an exhibit.

Every exhibit stores differents natural culture of each province, hence every single one of its biome is different, so does the flora and fauna.

"Ugh! There's a shit load of different smells crowding the air, I feel… I feel sick!" Hada's face turned green, looking like he's about to puke at any moment. I forgot that he has a keen sense of smell, he's associated with wolves after all.

"Hmm… wait a moment kay, brother?"

Right now four of the Watchers were preparing a ride for us. In the meantime, I went to team 2 and ask the cat girl to make Hada a mask using her nature magic.

She grew a cotton flower and turn it into a square-shaped layer of fabric. Then she coated it with flower essence and give me a string to tie it.

She said she does not excel in the art of clothmaking like a Nu Manah, so she didn't know how to assemble it.

I thanked her and went back to my team. It's kinda sad that the only step left from it was just to attach the string, but she didn't seem to know how to do so.

I'm different tho, I can just make a hole using a tiny bit of fire, and tie the string to the scented cotton layer.

"Here, wear this, at least you'll only be smelling a single fragrance," I said while giving the completed mask to Hada.

"Lilac? Well alright then." He gladly took it and rushingly wore it.

*Rrr!*

In the middle of our exchange, I hear a low menacing sound of a spinning wheel munching out the ground.

"Now, please ride with your Watcher accordingly!"

The four came to us with some sort of… dark machinery? It's called a bus, a four-wheeled automatic cart that isn't attached to any animal.

It still has a driver though, a Living Corpse at that.

"Why do I feel somewhat threatened…?" Said Falisha before the bus. I could see her legs shiver from its presence.

"I won't blame you, the beast reeks with dark magic, a really… REALLY strong one at that." Chiya assured.

"Well I don't care if it'll kill me, I wanna ride that shit!" Without hesitation Hada walked fast and proud, entering the black-colored bus thingy with his two feet.

"It won't though…" Said Chiya with a weary voice.

We all then followed Hada's, along with our Watcher, Sir Mahanta. Inside, there were lines of chairs with purple-colored cushions, I think it's about 70 of them.

We then sat at the mid-row, since most of us still aren't yet comfortable being too close to a Living Corpse, they're once alive after all.

The bus has a straight walkway in the center and pairs of two seats lining up on its sides. At 2 o'clock there was me and Anna, at 10, Hada and Falisha, then 7, Chiya and Hazana.

Revian and Althea will be tailing us from behind since they are both too big to be riding this bus.

Sir Mahanta talked a while with the bus driver before joining in front of us. He probably told them our destination, which I kind of wanted to know, which Exhibit we'll be entering first.

"So where will we heading on our first day here, Sir?" I asked to satisfy my curiosity. Everyone else seemed also interested in this topic.

"The place where your kind reign, the Savanah." He replied with a smile.

"You mean there will be lions in there!?" Anna sounded so excited about it.

"You'll see."

Sir Mahanta turned to face the front and gives an 'okay' sign for the driver to go.

The Living Dead saw it, then started the bus mechanism, which runs on a violin melody, accompanied by a couple of percussions. This ride… is powered by music.

They stepped on the gas, speeding up to the point where even both dragons barely manage to catch up. Although I still prefer riding Revian, this bus isn't so smooth with how it runs the road.

"Yo Bro-Highness, maybe it's a good opportunity for you to steal a pride or two, what kind of pathetic male lion doesn't have a harem?" This dirty water mocks me.

"Shut your mouth, brother!"
