Chapter 010: Thirteen Ghost Needles

"You killed the old man," Megan Gibson's resentful eyes bore coldly into Chloe Stephens. The words she spat out were extremely harsh, "If it wasn't for your crazy granddaughter, he wouldn't have gone back to the village."

"Mother," Yvette Foster's eyes reddened as she roared, "Chloe didn't do anything, if anyone is to blame it's me."

"What hasn't she done? The fact that your father died for her is undeniable," that was precisely why it was so infuriating.

The accusatory glances from the Foster family cut Yvette Foster deep. She thought returning to her maternal home would grant her some kindness, but she faced only disdain.

Xavier Foster darted across the room, thrust both hands forward intending to push Chloe Stephens.

Chloe shifted slightly to the side, causing Xavier Foster's attack to miss.

"It's all because of you, you killed my grandfather, go join him in death," Xavier Foster's teeth gritted in hatred as he hurled himself at Chloe again, intending to push her out of the adjacent glass window.

"Chloe!"

The sight terrified Yvette Foster.

Chloe stepped aside again, and Xavier Foster's body lunged out the open window, his head pointing down as he fell.

"Xavier!!"

Several trembling voices roared out, drawing the attention of people from both sides of the corridor.

A fair hand grabbed onto one of Xavier Foster's feet. Hanging outside, Xavier Foster was petrified, his eyes wide as he stared at the ground, the people looking like ants blurring in his vision.

"Save me, Dad, Mom, save me..."

Wilbert Foster and others rushed over, pulling back up Xavier Foster, who was hanging outside the window.

Yvette Foster quickly pulled Chloe aside, her own face pale from fright, "Chloe, are you okay?"

Chloe shook her head, calmly watching as they brought Xavier Foster back inside.

Xavier Foster slumped to the floor, tears streaming down his face in sheer terror.

Yvonne Sullivan and Megan Gibson rushed to soothe Xavier Foster, oblivious to the medical staff wheeling the unsuccessful surgical patient, Fred Foster, to a temporary morgue.

Wilbert Foster had no time to dwell on this issue, following the administrative personnel to the morgue in the basement.

Hans Foster, leading Lindsay Foster, followed Wilbert Foster.

"Stay here, don't wander around. Your grandfather's matter will be handled by your uncle."

Hans Foster nodded, taking Lindsay Foster back with him.

Seeing Chloe casually walk over, Hans Foster said, "Your uncle went to take care of granddad's matters. He asked us to wait here."

As if she hadn't heard, Chloe continued walking straight towards the elevator.

Seeing her dismiss him, Hans Foster decided not to get involved with her matters.

After confirming the morgue's location, Wilbert Foster followed the administrative personnel to prepare some information.

The corpse definitely needed to be brought back to the village for the funeral rites, so there was no need for cremation procedures.

This place wouldn't attract people unless they were brave.

So, the security was lax.

Chloe easily entered the morgue.

Although the air circulated well, the place was gloomy.

"Meow!"

A wisp of black smoke materialized a nimble black cat, which gracefully leaped onto a gurney.

Chloe lifted the white sheet, revealing Fred Foster's pallid face.

The silver needles bought from the broken shop finally came in handy.

She laid out the needles, disinfected them in a special way, and held nine needles in a surgical clamp.

The incantation began from her heart.

Resurrection Nine Needles, truly one variation of the Thirteen Needles method from the underworld.

These needles were incredibly overbearing. They'd been prohibited or said to have been lost in ancient times.

Because they were almost related to metaphysics, medical practitioners dismissed them as nonsense, in reality, they were unable to control them.

"Whew."

Chloe raised her hand to wipe off the sweat on her forehead, put away the needles, and exited.

The black cat circled Fred Foster once and then vanished into thin air.

Anyone witnessing this scene would undoubtedly be scared to death.

Outside the hospital.

The Dean led a group of high-level executives to greet a Maybach at the entrance.

An elderly man and a young woman stepped out together.

The woman, about twenty years old, appeared as clear and lustrous as jade. Her eyes had a unique beauty. Though they were not particularly sharp, there was a pressing force when she fixed her gaze.

"Elder Taylor! Miss Taylor!"

Dean Zeigler of Thompson County Hospital led a team to welcome the elder and the woman.

Owen Taylor looked up to inspect the hospital entrance.

Because of one particular patient, Owen had exceptionally made the trip from Sheffield City to Thompson County.

For Thompson County Hospital, this was high prestige indeed.

"Second Grandfather, let's first go see that special patient."

Dean Zeigler, grinning broadly, guided the way. "Elder Taylor, Miss Taylor, please follow me."

A doctor in a white coat rushed over, eyes filled with alarm. "Dean, that patient who was just pronounced dead suddenly woke up in the morgue."

Dean Zeigler frowned, this was careless.

Declaring somebody dead who is not, is negligence.

If the patient's family decided to pursue this, it would be troublesome.

"What happened," Dean Zeigler asked, lowering his voice.

"Dean, the patient's heart had indeed stopped and all internal organs were damaged. The patient was old and didn't survive more than half an hour of the surgery."

Dean Zeigler frowned even more. What does he mean by didn't survive? That was too hasty.

He glanced at Owen Taylor and Lily Taylor standing beside him, then grinned awkwardly. "Elder Taylor, Miss Taylor, I have a slight matter to attend to…"

Lily Taylor stepped forward, "Where's the man, who came back to life?"

"This…"

"Dean Zeigler, it's quite rare to encounter such a miraculous recovery. Let's take a look, we won't interfere with other matters."

Since Owen Taylor had spoken, Dean Zeigler had no choice but to lead them nervously to the morgue.

Yvette Foster turned to ask Wilbert Foster to handle the formalities. When she came back intending to bring everyone to the morgue to see Fred's body for the last time, she couldn't find Chloe. Panic-stricken, she began searching for her everywhere.

Megan Gibson and the others ignored her and followed Wilbert to see Fred.

At the morgue, they were informed that Fred had woken up!

Did he, did he come back from the dead?

The Foster family crowded inside, indeed seeing Fred propped up and awake. It still appeared somewhat ghastly.

"The dean is here, make way."

The doctors behind separated the Foster family.

The Foster family was pushed to one side, then they noticed a group of people swarm in and begin inspecting the now-conscious Fred.

A pretty woman rapidly checked Fred's state, her facial expression changed upon seeing something. "Second Grandfather, look at this."

Owen Taylor leaned closer to look. The needle marks were extremely fine and barely visible to the naked eye.

Owen Taylor's pupils contracted violently, "This is…"

Lily Taylor checked other areas again, saying solemnly, "Nine Needles."

"Thirteen Needles of Hell's Gate!" Owen Taylor blurted out, his pupils dilating again.

Resurrection Nine Needles!

Who indeed was it!

Owen Taylor and Lily Taylor simultaneously turned their gaze towards the other doctors in the morgue.

The doctor, who was cleaning Fred's wounds, felt an intense chill down his spine under their gaze.

"Elder Taylor, what are these Thirteen Needles of Hell's Gate?"

Dean Zeigler asked, clueless.

Owen Taylor suppressed his shock and shook his head, "Nothing, we probably mistook it for something else."

However, looking at their expressions, it was clear they were hiding something.

Because of the miracle in the morgue, Fred became the primary object of observation. All his tests were given top priority, and he was even moved to a single VIP Ward.

There was no longer any need for further surgeries, all that was required was for a routine wound cleaning before being transferred to the general ward.

Yvette Foster also found Chloe in the hospitalization section.

"Chloe, why did you run off by yourself? It's nothing, they did what they did because they were angry. Your grandfather has gone, we will move out from the Foster home later…" even if it means living in a rented house.

Yvette had only agreed to stay at the Foster home with Chloe because Fred was there. They were not allowed to move out on their own.

"Aunt, Grandfather woke up."

Hans Foster came running, his face filled with joy as he relayed the good news.

Yvette Foster was stunned and then broke into a smile, "Chloe, did you hear that? Your grandpa woke up!"

"Hmm."

Chloe's gaze landed on the Maybach parked at the entrance, her eyes slightly narrowing.
