Chapter 012: Forcing to Stay

To avoid any accidents, Yvette Foster stood by the window, watching Chloe Stephens buy food and return.

Since the last time, the girl had been able to walk around the hospital normally without any strange symptoms.

This was a great thing.

Yvette finished all the food Chloe had bought.

Looking up at Chloe, who hadn't eaten much, she said, "I'll cook something delicious for you when I get home."

Chloe nodded.

She quite liked the home-cooked meals made by Yvette.

"I saw your classmates earlier. Did you say hello to them?"

"Yeah."

"I can't go to school with you, so you need to build good relationships with your classmates in the future. They can help me look after you."

"Yeah."

"It's almost time for your middle school exam. Which high school do you want to go to, Chloe?"

"Which high school do you want me to go to?"

"I think the First Middle School is better. The learning environment is good too. Do your best in the exams, and if you don't get in, we can try to pull some strings. Don't put too much pressure on yourself."

Chloe lifted her eyelids, "No need for strings."

"Alright, I'll buy you a mobile phone as a reward once you get in."

Chloe moved her lips but didn't say anything more.

*

It was already 8 PM when Lily Taylor and Owen Taylor finished treating the special patient.

Dean Zeigler stood by with a smile, accompanied by Oliver Gordon's father, Geoffrey Gordon.

Someone from the Taylor Family came in and whispered a few words to Owen Taylor.

Owen's eyebrows furrowed.

"Second Grandfather, how is it?"

"They refused."

Lily also frowned, "Wasn't the mountain county supposed to take care of this?"

The assistant who went to negotiate replied, "A special team has taken over the matter, and even the treatment team is from the team."

Owen Taylor said solemnly, "It seems something big has happened in the mountain county."

"Is there no way to contact the person in charge, Second Grandfather?"

"Miss Taylor, let me try." The assistant immediately picked up his mobile phone and dialed a number.

*

Guest house.

The door was knocked on, and Len Hawthorne sat up inside.

"Team Hawthorne."

"Come in."

The person outside pushed the door and entered, saying, "Team Hawthorne, the county hospital just called, the Taylor Family wants to come over and meet with you."

"The Taylor Family?"

Len Hawthorne was a bit groggy from just waking up, having had several sleepless nights due to working on the case, and his mood was slightly off.

"Yes, the Taylor Family from the Eight Absolutes Medical Sect in Sheffield City."

"Oh," Len Hawthorne pinched the bridge of his nose, walked over to the water dispenser, and took a drink. "Tomorrow at 8 AM, give them half an hour."

"You're not going to meet them?"

"They probably just want to see the two students, curious about how they got infected."

This matter was confidential, and no one would reveal it.

Even if the Taylor Family came to inquire, they wouldn't find out anything.

*

Owen Taylor and Lily Taylor rushed to the temporary base early the next morning to see the two infected students.

The site of the infection had been processed.

Their visit was just to take a look, and they didn't need to do anything.

Thirty minutes later, they were escorted out.

The distance between the guest house and the base was just a basketball court away. Ethan Coates held a churro in his hand, biting it in an intermittent manner.

Len Hawthorne stood in the corridor, watching the Taylor Family go in and out.

"What is the Taylor Family here for? They can't possibly want to take the patients away for research, can they?"

"Without our restrictions, they probably would."

"Really worthy of the Eight Absolutes Medical Sect, a big shot indeed. They like to meddle in everything, wanting to have a hand in every affair. They really think they are the saviors. I heard that there are top ancient martial artists in their sect. Is this true?" Ethan Coates moved closer, gossiping.

"If you want to know, you can intercept them now and ask."

Ethan Coates shook his head, and then curiously asked, "What are they doing in the mountain county?"

"Let someone find out."

Do not hinder their work.

Once Fred Foster woke up, he was taken for various tests.

By the time Wilbert Foster arrived at the hospital, the tests had been done, and they were waiting for the results.

"Elder brother."

Wilbert Foster nodded at Yvette Foster and looked at Fred Foster, who had been pushed out, "Dad, how are you feeling?"

Fred Foster's spirit was not bad, "The wound hurts a bit, but there is nothing else uncomfortable."

"That's good," Wilbert said to Yvette, "I have to go to work later, and your sister-in-law is also busy. Mum is watching Xavier at home, I'm going to trouble you here."

Yvette had just started work, but as a result of this matter, she lost her job again.

"Elder brother, just go to work, I'll be here with Dad."

Fred Foster was somewhat unhappy.

With such a big family, Yvette had her own work, and she ended up taking care of the patient.

Wilbert Foster and his wife both worked in a county town enterprise, and it was not good to ask for leave.

Yvette had changed several jobs to take care of Chloe Stephens. This time, she had only been at work for half a day when this happened.

As a result, she lost her job again.

"With the whole family present, only you are willing to come to the hospital to take care of me, this old man," sighed Fred Foster.

"Dad, elder brother and sister-in-law need to work to support the family. Mum has to take care of Xavier. Now that I've lost this job, I'll just take care of you for a few more days before finding a new one."

Fred Foster sighed again.

Chloe brought in the food at noon, and that group of people came again.

Dean Zeigler came in and was about to speak, but Lily Taylor preempted him, "Madam Stephens, we still need to do some research. We will postpone your father's discharge formalities for ten days or half a month."

Fred Foster's physical condition did not need to be extended, they could be discharged and go home to recuperate within two or three days.

Now that a delay of ten days to half a month was being proposed, this was like exhausting the family members.

"Miss Taylor, my father's condition is stable now, and we are planning to go through the discharge formalities tomorrow. It would be better for the patient to recuperate at home."

Lily Taylor frowned, very dissatisfied with Yvette Foster's rebuttal.

"Madam Stephens, this is the hospital's decision and ours."

Yvette Foster could feel Lily Taylor's strong attitude, which made her feel uncomfortable.

Owen Taylor also stepped forward, "Madam Stephens' father has something we need to study, staying for a few more days is for his own good."

Hearing the word "research", Yvette Foster felt even more uncomfortable.

They could not even make decisions for their own family members.

Yvette Foster wanted to discharge Fred Foster tomorrow precisely because she did not want them to do any research that would disturb him, and she always felt that the research of the Taylor Family was very wrong.

When the Stephens Family invited them to their home to treat their daughter, Yvette Foster did not like the Taylor's way of doing things.

Especially their methods when it came to treating her daughter.

Lily Taylor tho...

What medicine sect family.

They could not even cure her daughter and claimed it was an innate mental disorder.

"Dean Zeigler, as family members, we can take any responsibility. We also do not agree with any research, my father is a person, not your lab rat."

Lily Taylor's expression darkened, feeling that Yvette Foster's words were simply childish.

She didn't know how many people were waiting for their Taylor family to do research on them, but she refused such a good thing.

It was because she came from the countryside that she couldn't make it in the Stephens Family.

"Madam Stephens, you are wrong in saying this. Our Taylor family has the right to take Mr. Foster away. I don't think you want us to forcefully take him elsewhere for research."

"What do you mean, Miss Taylor?"

Yvette Foster's face looked somewhat bad.

"My grandfather's condition is very good and doesn't need to stay in the hospital for observation. Discharging him tomorrow is just right."

A cold voice came from behind, attracting everyone's attention.

Chloe was sitting by the bedside, opening the food for Fred Foster.

"Miss Stephens," Lily Taylor heard Chloe's voice, her face darkening even more. Her expression seemed to say that Chloe had no right to be here talking to her, "You don't understand these things, it's better not to speak indiscriminately."

"If you understand, why do you insist on keeping him? Even a layman in medicine understands that it's better for a patient to recover at home. Since you can see that my grandfather has recovered, why forcibly keep him here? What is your purpose?"

Lily Taylor's brow furrowed.

"Our purpose is for Mr. Foster's good. Miss Stephens, we dare to say that our Taylor family's medical skills are absolutely the most exquisite in Herta Kingdom, even beyond those of the West. When we say there's a problem with Mr. Foster, there is and it's definitely not empty."

"Then please, Miss Taylor, tell me what problems my grandfather has yet to solve." The girl sat by the bed, her eyes as dark as the night, a faint starlight in them, carrying a bewitching imposing power.

As soon as her voice fell, the ward suddenly quieted down.
