Chapter 3: Gina

"Miss Martinez, these reports were supposed to be on my desk yesterday," my boss barked at me, walking into my office without knocking. "I pay you a good salary and expect you to follow my orders."

Andrew Davies made my blood boil. He was an arrogant twat without manners, and I hated him with a vengeance. I wished that I didn't have to deal with him on a daily basis.

"The reports were done yesterday. I just haven't had the chance to-"

"Save it, Miss Martinez, I'm done listening to your excuses," he cut me off, and his eyes roved over my breasts. He didn't even try to be discreet about it. "You need to come with me. There is a new client who I need you to meet."

"Mr. Davies, I have a meeting in five-"

"Reschedule it. This is much more important," he snapped, not even letting me finish the sentence.

What the actual fuck? I couldn't just reschedule the meeting with one of my potential sponsors. My lunch was starting in five minutes, and one of my pole dancing clients had pulled some strings and arranged a meeting with a guy who was close to Adler McDougall. He seemed interested in my new venture. I had just received an email from her this morning, asking me to meet him during my lunch break. This was a hell of a favour, and now I was going to look like a complete idiot if I didn't show up.

"Mr. Davies, I'm sure you can get someone else to cover that meeting. My lunch break is starting now, and the person I'm meeting is already waiting for me," I said through gritted teeth. I didn't have to wait long to figure out if Davies gave a fuck about my break time. He had been making my life difficult since he took over the company. I had no idea why, but he just couldn't stand me.

"I thought you were aiming for a promotion, Miss Martinez?"

"I am, but-"

"Then I'm sorry, but you will have to take your lunch later. Our client has been waiting in the conference room for about ten minutes now. The company's best interests should be your priority. I expect you to make a good impression," he said, cutting me off for the third or fourth time in the past minute.

There was no point arguing with him, because as far as Andrew Davies was concerned, my other business was insignificant. The bastard knew I was trying to expand my pole dancing classes. Apparently, he accidentally read one of my private emails, claiming that he was looking for some missing files. After that, I learned not to use the computer at work to respond to personal emails.

I opened my mouth, hoping to throw out yet another argument, but he was already walking away. He didn't even bother to shut my door behind him. I clenched my fists and tried to calm my erratic breathing.

Moments later, I marched out of my office, pissed off that I hadn't been firmer with that arsehole. I was hoping that maybe I could wrap up the meeting quickly and still make it to see the sponsor. Right now, I couldn't even call him to cancel or to say I'd be late since Agatha had set it up; I didn't have his phone number.

My day had been going great until just a few minutes ago. Davies was waiting for me to make a mistake, just so he could get rid of me. I had to obey his every wish. I couldn't afford to lose this job.

Anna handed me a note about the meeting, and I smoothed my pencil skirt, plastering a fake smile on my face. Seconds later, I entered the conference room.

"Mr. Erskine, I'm sorry about the wait. I under-"

I stopped talking midsentence the moment I stepped inside the room. It took me five seconds to figure out that my new client was Mr. H, the boxer I watched last night.

He had his back to me, and I instantly recognised him. Blond hair, muscular back, and that firm arse I couldn't stop picturing in my head. I had no doubt that he was the same man.

He finally turned around.

"Oh, hello, you must be the marketing manager Andrew was talking about?" he asked and then walked up to me. An unexpected jolt of heat passed through my spine. My heart was pounding in my chest and I couldn't move, staring at his unshaven jaw and those piercing blue eyes. Yes, he was the same man who winked at me after the match.

He was tall and bloody handsome, and now I finally realised that I had actually met him before. My friend, Sasha, and her arsehole boyfriend, who later on turned out to be decent, had an engagement party. Mr. H was there. I remembered it clearly now, but I hadn't put two and two together last night.

Even then, he'd stared at me like he wanted to have his way with me.

"Yes, that's me... How are you?" I blurted nervously, and after probably about thirty seconds, I realised that he wanted to shake my hand. Sudden steam crawled its way to my thighs, alerting my sex. His handshake was firm, and my body jerked at his touch. The guy probably thought I was a moron, staring at him and not saying a word.

His eyes narrowed, and he inhaled sharply still holding my hand. The tension between us escalated. I could feel the heat of his stare as his eyes hovered down, stopping on my lips. In that moment, I knew he recognised me, too, either from the match, or from the time at Sasha's engagement party. That would have been fine, but I couldn't miss the fact that I saw him banging my boss's wife only last night.

"I'm great actually, Miss ..."

"Gina Martinez," I introduced myself, aware of the sizzling heat that was circulating around us. All I could think of was those arse cheeks and the way he was moving inside her. Crap, I needed to get it together.

"Martinez. Are you related to George Martinez, by any chance?" he asked with that dark tone, not taking his penetrating eyes off me. I was melting from the inside out, thinking that some random guy was making me wet.

"No...no, I don't think so. My parents are dead," I mumbled, knowing he recognised me from yesterday, but still, he wasn't saying anything. He came a bit closer, close enough that I could smell his cologne. It was yummy and very masculine, and it was sending my shaky body into another universe.

"Well, nice to meet you, Gina," he said smoothly, pulling away from me and then leaning over, whispering into my ear. "You were at the boxing match yesterday. I would never forget such a beautiful woman who was able to distract me for a brief moment."
