A Night to Remember 2

I was looking around the market until I felt someone touching my shoulder.

I turned to look towards the source only for a Redguard man to pull my collar.

"You! You've got a lot of nerve showing yourself in this town again. What do you have to say for yourself?" He said angrily while spitting saliva from his mouth.

'What is going on?'

"Uhh I'm sorry?"

"Sorry's not good enough! Not while my Gleda is still out there, alone and afraid. You kidnapped her and sold her to that Giant."

'What the shitting hell??'

"Wait wait wait" I put my hands up. "You are confusing me with someone else. I did no such thing."

"Of course you did! No matter how much time passes, I would never forget your Daedric face!"

"Look, you must really be confusing me with someone else." I said while prying his hands off my collar. "I didn't sell anybody to anyone, nor would I do such a horrible thing."

"Still denying bastard?! Still acting like you don't know?! Hehe Is that so? Does the name Gleda ring a bell? The star beauty of my farm? Kidnapped by a drunk lout and sold to a Giant? You'd better remember her right fast, before I call the guards and have you hauled away." He said while getting awfully close.

'Did he say drunk?'

"Wait, when did this happen?"

"Three weeks ago!"

'Shit. It was me. So this is what I did in Rorikstead.'

"Look, I'm sorry for what happened. Apparently it was actually me, but I don't remember any of it because I was too drunk. Could you elaborate please? Maybe then I could atone for my actions. First of all, who is Gleda? She is not a person, right?" I asked with hope.

I really hope I didn't sell a woman to a giant.

"She is my precious goat! My one and only Gleda. Oh she was so beautiful with a fluffy fur and sweet as nectar milk."

Okay, now this guy becoming too personal with a goat. But thankfully it wasn't a person.

"And then I sold her to a giant?"

"Yes! You left a note saying that you sold her to a giant named Grok!"

"Anything else I wrote on that note? Maybe something about a man named Sam?"

"Yes, there was something else written on the note but you will not get anything else from me unless you bring back Gleda!"

'Shit.'

"Look, I need to find Sam, in order to bring back Gleda." I said with hopes of persuading him but it was for naught.

"You didn't seem to need either to sell Gleda to that giant in the first place! I think you will figure something out."

"Sigh Fine. Can you tell me which way I can find that giant?"

"Go West. That is where you headed last time with Gleda."

Great. Now I need to get a goat I sold to a giant back from him. I talked with him once, how hard could it be to talk to him again?

"Raaah!"

*Boom!

"Fuck!"

The big guy wasn't happy. And I couldn't even communicate with him, how did I even do that in the first place?!

Currently I was running away from an angry giant. Thankfully he wasn't that fast and I was outrunning him.

But my current predicament was I didn't know where I was heading to. I was running in a random direction.

I was keeping my distance from the giant but the guy was seriously persistent. He kept on chasing me for hours!

After what felt like forever, he finally gave up. But I didn't know where I was.

It was trees as far as my eyes could see and I could see no roads in any way. Apparently I was too away from the main roads.

Great. Just what Alvor warned me about.

But thankfully I had supplies stashed in my storage so I wouldn't die of hunger nor thirst.

I made a camp for the night and the familiar indigo particles appeared once more.

"It's been a while Master Gyron."

"Indeed. How have you been? From the looks, you weren't doing too well I assume? Hoho."

"If you consider being too drunk that you travel from Whiterun to Markarth in a night, being involved in a conspiracy, selling a man's goat to a giant I couldn't even communicate with while drunk and being chased for hours after wanting the goat back by the same giant, good, I am doing well Master." I replied with humor.

Now that I think of it, it was quite a bizarre adventure.

"Hohoho I'm glad that you are doing well Alaric. Now, let's continue where we left off shall we?"

"Yes, Master Gyron."

"Previously, we talked about Destruction and Restoration. Today we will be talking about the Infusion of Spiritas into Mundus, Conjuration. The spells that call upon otherworldly entities through telepathy, certain skilled Conjuration mages can develop telepathic links with each other. Conjuration spells augment the caster by granting them Daedric and Undead guardians, Daedric weapons and armor, and the ability to repel the undead and banish Daedra."

"Deadric and Undead guards? Isn't that too powerful? If so, why aren't a lot of people using it?"

"It is not so grand of a school for beginners. Indeed, masters of this school could be very dangerous threats but for the rest, not that much. First of all, beginners cannot call upon the Daedra of higher ranks. As there are ranks in military, there are ranks amongst Daedra too. If attempted so summon a Daedroth outside of a caster's power, the Daedroth will then consume the caster's life force, leading to their early death. And a Daedra cannot stay in the mortal plane forever. They have a limited time depending on the power of a mage. But most of them last for around 1-2 hours at most. For the Undead, they are the result of Necromancy. And for the reason that they are defiling the dead, it is frowned upon."

"I see. They all have their pros and cons."

"Indeed. For the next school, Alteration. They are the spells that alter the physical and magical properties of the target. Alteration spells harm the target by making the objects it is carrying heavier and augments the target by making the objects it is carrying lighter, granting it elemental and physical shields and the ability to breathe in water and walk upon its surface as well as open locks. They can also use paralyzing spells. Which makes them great duelists. Not as showy as other schools though so they are not that popular no matter how strong they might be."

"I understand."

"Another school of magic, mirror castings, Illusion. They are the spells that affect light and a sentient target's mind. Illusion spells harm the target by commanding, demoralizing, silencing, and causing it to frenzy, as well as augmenting it by rallying, charming, calming it, granting it invisibility, night-vision, translucency, and illuminating it."

"Affecting a person's mind? How can a person defend against that?"

"Every person has some innate magic resistance because of all the magicka that flows through our bodies. But the amount of resistance varies depending on the person. Stronger the vessel, stronger the magicka that flows through them, thus making their resistance higher. Also, practicing magic repeatedly can increase a person's magicka reserves, thus also making their resistance higher. That is why most mages are weak in physical strength."

"I see. What do you think of my magicka amount then master?"

"Hmm, from what I have observed, you have both exceptional strength and also amount in magicka. I can say it is around ten times that of a normal person. Which makes you naturally talented."

"Oh, I have that much? Wow." I thought it was normal to have this much in a person.

"Let us end here. I shall see you another day Alaric."

"Farewell Master Gyron."

And with indigo particles, he disappeared once again.
