Corrupted Lands-I

The next day Zhu Shen left for the corrupt lands. While leaving, his master generously gave him a pouch specifically prepared for him and warned him,
"Be careful… the devils are running rampant in certain areas…"
Zhu Shen nodded at his master seriously and left the house.
After coming to the main entrance of the sect, Zhu Shen whistled for Abyss.
"Kreee…"
A loud roar sounded in the distance as Abyss landed in front of Zhu Shen. In two months Abyss's body had grown scarier and scarier. Now Abyss had bones sticking out of his body and his eyes also turned emerald green from his previous blood-red eyes.
The golden heart told Zhu Shen After looking at Abyss,
"He has a royal wyvern bloodline in him… you have to nurture it and he can become the ruler of all wyverns…"
Zhu Shen felt shocked when he heard that Abyss had a royal Wyvern bloodline.
'I unconsciously won a jackpot…'
He thought as he stroked Abyss's body and said,
"Let's go buddy… we will go on our first adventure…"
Soon, both of them flew towards the location of the corrupted lands.

Somewhere inside the barren lands of the dragon plane, both Zhu Shen and Abyss landed in front of a greyish-black mass of land. The land extruded death energy like someone took out all the vitality inside the land.
Zhu Shen released Abyss and told him to stay nearby… while he entered the corrupt land.
"This is corrupt land…!"
Zhu Shen thought while looking around the burnt lands surrounding him.
After walking for a while, he suddenly heard laughter in the distance…
"Tehehehehe…."
Zhu Shen looked in the direction of the laughter but he found no one there. But soon, he heard the same voice but in a different direction…
"Come here… Teehee…"
Zhu Shen walked in the direction of the voice but found no one there… suddenly the same voice came from the opposite side,
"Come here, Dummy… Teehee…"
This time the voice felt much more intoxicating to Zhu Shen than the previous time. He started to chase after the voice and started to lose consciousness. But before he could sleep he heard the golden heart's warning,
"Keep your head clear… don't let them hallucinate you…"
The golden heart's warning jolted Zhu Shen awake. He felt like someone just tried to control his body. Before he could think of anything else, the golden heart said,
"This land is filled with corrupted yakshas… You have to keep your mental barriers or the corrupted yakshas will take over your body…"
The yakshas were natural spirits in nature, they had both good and bad personalities. But corrupted yaksha's were different. When a body dies unnatural death or curse its heart becomes dark and they get corrupted.
These corrupted yakshas will take control of a normal body and destroy that person's life by turning them into ghouls.
"How do I keep my mental barriers up…?"
This was the first time Zhu Shen had encountered mental attacks from other beings… so he had no idea how to defend against them.
The golden heart told an incantation to sweep away any fear inside Zhu Shen,
"Say the Incantation, 'Om Haum Joom Sah' (ऊं हौं जूं स:) and try to imagine a golden barrier appearing around your head…! "
Zhu Shen did as the golden heart instructed him to do. While chanting, he noticed that the blood flow towards his head had increased. He felt light-headed but to his surprise, a golden barrier had formed around his consciousness protecting him from all the fear and corrupt thoughts.
He then asked the golden heart,
"Are they not going to attack me physically…?"
"No dummy… They are spirits and cannot harm what is physical."
The golden heart replied.
Soon both Zhu Shen crossed the area infected with evil spirits.
"Phew…"
Before Zhu Shen could release a sigh, he heard a rustling sound in the distance. As he looked in the direction, he saw a wild boar running toward him.
Surprisingly, the wild boar's flesh had already been rotten and dangling to his bones. The boar's eyes were empty but, if one looked closely, they could see a green flame inside the boar's pupils.
"Careful this is a corrupted level 1 magical beast…!"
The golden heart warned Zhu Shen. Zhu Shen took it seriously as he drew his sword out.
"Growl…."
The wild boar growled loudly as it lunged toward Zhu Shen.
Zhu Shen immediately performed dragon steps and stepped out of the attacking range of the wild boar. While stepping aside, he also stabbed the wild boar's heart.
The sword entered the wild boar's body with no resistance at all and directly penetrated his heart.
The wild boar's body landed 10 meters away from Zhu Shen. Zhe Shen relaxed as he saw the wild boar's body but to his surprise, the wild boar got up again and started attacking Zhu Shen.
"The magical beast is converted into a ghoul… you have to destroy its head to kill it."
The golden heart reminded Zhu Shen.
Listening to the golden heart's advice, Zhu Shen attacked the collarbone of the beast.
"CRACK…"
With a loud crack, the collarbone of the wild boar broke and its head was separated from the body.
Zhu Shen saw that the green light in the boar's pupil had been extinguished. As the green light faded, the flesh on the wild boar's body started turning into dust.
After five minutes, only the skeleton of the wild boar remained.
Zhu Shen looked at the wild boar's skeleton and said softly,
"Rest in peace…!"
