Chapter 32: I Have A Shadow

The bakery was becoming increasingly busy over the past few days. Samantha was not sure if she enjoyed that fact or not. Although, she met an increasingly new number of people who were both kind and horrid in their own right.

Some would make casual conversation with her as they enjoyed their coffee at the counter, while others would be too busy or in a rush to cast her so much as a hello. She did not mind either way. The atmosphere of the bakery was beginning to slowly return to normal.

In that sense, she slowly started becoming more and more comfortable within her workspace again and the sense of familiarity with Wilma shouting at the part-timer over a small inconvenience he had made or the chime of the hustle and bustle of the various occupants was comforting to her.

She did not see Ryan that day at all while she was working, which she supposed, was a good thing.
