Chapter 37: Old Injuries

Lois nodded tightly. “Very well. You shall have your matron.”

With a wave of his hand, Malota was released back to them. Her mother welcomed her closest friend back into her arms with a tight embrace and they were all ushered up to the stage that was prepared for them.

Gisella didn’t get a chance to look at Ryre again as they made their way behind the screen and prepared for the show, but she had made note of the layout of the room and could guess where he would have stationed himself.

As her mother fussed over her closest friend and ordered one of the dancers to bring food and water from the kitchens, as well as trying to quickly get the doctor to come secretly, Gisella busied herself preparing with Otho and Roseia.

Although his injuries had healed somewhat and the bruises on his body were lessened, Otho still found it troublesome to move into certain positions. Him and Roseia had had to change their entire choreography so it was her supporting him throughout their performance.
