A Nightmare!

"Since when have you been so obedient, we both would be done for.. Oh lord! Oh lord!" Zhao Wei was shouting and hiccuping like crazy. She was in her full panic mode and she did not even notice that the girl in his arms had already lost consciousness.

"I will keep your secret safe with me, so please do not kill me!" were the last words, she spoke before closing her eyes and her body turned limp.

Hao let go of the small sac of devil's charm he was holding in his pocket and looked at the Thumbelina with a smirk on his face.

"So, you do know that you still work for me!" his eyes were indifferent and cold yet his voice had a mockery in it and she pursued her lips.

"I can see that you don't even need me these days." 'Since you are so busy with other girls.' she commented, forgetting for a second what had happened and how worried she was about it.

"Tsk, why even try to speak in your mind when you know that I can listen to it like your spoken words? I can understand about these mere humans, but why do you?" he rolled his eyes as he crouched down and observed the pale girl whose lips were even trembling in her dreams.

"Why are humans that scared about dying?" he shook his head as he could never understand that.

"You! Did I not tell you not to read my thoughts." her whole face turned red and she fidgeted at her place and rebuked him to hide her panic.

If.. if.. No! She could not even think about it! What if he would read her thoughts again!

"Shut up! You are too noisy!" was all he said as he closed his eyes and soon the bones started forming and then blood, muscles and skin. His body formed so fast that the progress could be seen from the bare eyes.

"Even if you grow your body now, how will you explain it to her? You know you can not kill innocents, right?" the Thumbelina flew closer to the body of the girl as she scanned her mind too.

"There! She is even seeing you in her dreams and shivering with fear!" Zhao Wei sighed when she turned to see the nonchalance on his face.

When he stood up and turned towards the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" her eyes widened and she flew behind him with her full force that she bumped into his back.

"Owwww" she rubbed her nose and then smacked his bag with annoyance when the steps of the man halted.

After soothing the pain of hitting an iron pillar, she looked above just to see his glaring eyes.

"Do you have a death wish now?" he asked as his eyes squinted on her face and she trembled.

She was sure that her hands were not even a scratch for him, yet he was looking at her with an intent to kill! How petty!

"What! There was a mosquito on your back! I was killing it." his eyes only turned sharper when he listened to her. Amazed that she would even use this lamest excuse in front of him!

"Do you take me as a foolish human, you dumb system!?" he hollered and she scoffed.

"Haven't I told you more than a thousand times, I am not a system. I am your keeper! Your keeper who is here to make sure that you complete your repentance and I am here to take care of you.

I have all the emotions and senses of a human. I can feel all the emotions a human does and feel hungry and sleepy. You pathetic demon!?" this was the first time she hollered back at him but he just snorted.

She had always been keen to introduce herself as human even when the both knew that she was from the clan of fairies!

"Mmmmm…" they both turned their heads when they heard the moaning of the girl whose eyes were fluttering.

Only then did Zhao Wei remember that she was here because he had shed human skin in front of her.

"Oh lord! She is going to be awake! We are done for! We are done for!" her loud brawls were annoying that his lips curled inwards and his face turned colder.

"Where am i?" asked the girl as she slowly opened her eyes and looked around when he tilted his head and his hands moved to the sac in his pocket again and rubbed it slowly.

Shao Min looked around with confusion as her mind felt still hazy when her eyes fell on the man who was standing near the door as if he was going to leave but just turned when he heard her.

Only then did she remember that he was nothing but an evil ghost and she crawled backwards.

"I.. I didn't see anything. I promise i will not tell anyone.'' her words were incoherent and her eyes were filled with fear.

Relieved, he let go of the sac when she remembered everything that happened before she turned unconscious. But when he moved closer to her and she took a step back, a cold smirk formed on his lips.

The smell of fear! He sniffed the air with delight. Only he knew how much he had missed it! People, feeling afraid of him and begging for their lives!

His eyes glowed as he absorbed more of her fear but then a frown formed on his lips.

The girl had stood up holding the wall and looking at the windows to see if there was a chance to run away. She did not want to die here! Her hazy mind was in full alert now when she heard the sound of his footsteps and turned to stare back at him.

"You were tired and when I asked you to go and change, you fell down and turned unconscious.

I tried to wake you up, but you started screaming at me. So, I was going to call for help.

Are you okay, now?"
