Golden Morning.

The waves were the first thing I felt after being blinded by the golden light, crashing against my nano swarm net, washing them away as I desperately struggled to keep them in place.

Finally, I let them materialize into an actual visible net, linking long chains of nanobots, woven into it's form, anchored to the forcefield lest they all be swept away.

Below, I felt a portion of them be destroyed, as Myrrdin cast a dark sign into the air, sucking up all the water into one of his pocket dimensions, before doing the same with the excess of light pollution.

Truly the man was a master at using his powers, to think he can even drag in light into his void dimensions.

Things slowly became more visible with the blinding light disappearing.

Immediately I scanned the road below to find bodies turned to pulp, rubble turned to dust, as if a railgun had fired through, in an almost physics defying construct given I felt nothing but the waves crashing into my net.

A chill ran down my spine.

If he can bypass spatial boundaries, why hadn't he gone after me first?

Was this a game to him?

Or perhaps.....what am I thinking?

Of course he's using Path To Victory to calculate the optimal strategy.

It's what I would've done!

With Path To Victory his chance of winning just went up to near 100 percent, because unlike Fortuna's Path To Victory, where she wasn't able to perfectly follow the instructions, being human and all, Scion had no such limitations.

This means then that he probably knows. He probably knows about the FTL Slingshot Mk III!

That's why he's not coming at me straight.

My contacts beeped with an alert.

Something had slammed into the ship's forcefields, and was repulsed back.

I sighed in relief.

Thankfully I had not made the ship's shields reflexive, meaning they were always active.

It meant Scion couldn't just go FTL and bypass them too.

And I don't think Scion can break through them.

But wait, he should have known that too, shou-

This is a distraction!

I snapped to the sky and scanned the city.

Where is Planetina?!

I connected to the computer's network and checked the surveillance footage and found nothing.

One moment she was there floating above me, the next she was gone, in a flash.

"Computer, Planetina now!" I cried, and an image pulled up before my eyes.

An image of the Ship's forcefield.

And a dead Planetina, a hole in her gut the size of a football, cast in metal alloy like a statue.

It wasn't Scion that hit the forcefield.

He fucking threw Planetina into it.

From Earth.

Fuck!

I flared my power, wrapping the ferro nanite structure all around me like a symbiote and spotted Scion on the net, as he tore a rift between realities and disappeared.

What?!

Then something glowed. Behind me. No that wasn't th-

I dodged to the side as a beam of golden energy ripped past me, tearing into the feroo nanite suit, clashing ahainst the forcefield.

The fleshy blob beside me moaned in pleasure and the burning halo around me became even stronger, burning like a miniature sun.

"Come at me straight you pussy!" I shouted, my eyes darted everywhere.

Myrrdin cast sign after sign below, ready for any attack.

"Do you see him?" He asked.

"No. I think he jumped realities. Bastard's playing portals with me. He probably thinks it's funny." I said as I realised.

I am the master of portal tech bitch!

Let me show you how it's done!

Scion wasn't asking his PTV shard for a way to beat us. No. With Eidolon dead, he probably thought he could steamroll over us with ease. I think it was asking it the best way to toy with us.

Fucking asshole of a space whale!

Another beam slammed into my back, as the halo burned ever stronger around me and power surged through my veins.

My mind ran a lightyear a minute calculating his next probable path as I pulled out my portal gun.

If Scion wasn't going to willingly bring the fight to us, I'll just have force his hand.

I doused the quarantine area where Noelle and Oliver were being kept with knockout gas and waited as they fell asleep almost instantly.

Then, opening a portal to it, I dug into the portal and pulled Oliver out, bending his shard to my will.

It whimpered and cracked before submitting to me as I gave it instructions.

Instructions to shapeshift Oliver into something Scion valued more than life itself.

His wife, Eden.

Another beam of golden light burst out from thin air and this time I put Oliver in it's path front and center.

Oliver, giving off the same signal as Eden crashed into the light beam and shattered into a thousand pieces, dying instantly.

There was silence for a moment in the city, so quiet you could hear the waves retreat.

But I knew he was coming.

After all, I had just made him kill what felt like his wife with his own two hands. No way he's keeping quiet about that.

I attached the time crystal to my portal gun, as I surveilled the surroundings waiting, watching.

Then, the sky cracked and crackled as it tore open, blinding golden light poured out of it.

A silent roar shook the earth, and split the city itself, the landmass breaking apart as if in an earthquake.

"Myrrdin, get ready to knock Scion out. He's coming, in three...two..do it!" Scion descended like a meteor from the heavens, burning up the sky, ionizing the air.

I felt Myrrdin flinch as his skin stung with radiation as he condensed all his signs into one and let loose a blast of compressed air at Scion, pushing him back for the briefest of moments.

But that was enough for me.

I pushed my jetpack and lapel pin to the max and ordered the computer to aim at me.

Time slowed down and I disappeared from the warehouse, the force of my ascension caving the entire city block beneath me.

Scion looked down at me, and sneered, breaking his stoic facade, as I raised the gravity gun at him and shot out.

This was the same tech Superman had used against a Super Luthor in All Star Superman. It formed a gravity field around the target and increased the force of gravity on them to the point that time itself bent and squeezed, flowing slower for them, making them in turn slower too.

It should be enough to trap or slow him for a while.

He met it's beam with the Stilling, his signature golden light, only for a portal to open up in it's path.

I smiled and used my understanding of higher level causal math to push my technokinesis into the time crystal enhanced portal, shattering it, telefragged and broken, across the timeline, yet aimed at Scion all the same.

Surprised, Scion delved into PTV once more, trying to understand what I was doing, but he was too slow.

Though in this case no amount of speed would have mattered.

I had just turned the gravity beam into a causality defying weapon after all.

How do you trap a man that exists across time and space, multiple realities at once?

You turn the instrument of his demise into one that exists on the same level as him.

It didn't matter what timeline or reality Scion dodged the beam into this time. It would hit him. It was an inevitability now.

I had Gae Bolg'ed my gravity beam. Only less magic and more science.

No matter how he tried to move, the telefragged portal would reverse causality to a possible timeline where he didn't and merge them together.

Panic flashed across Scion's face for the first time as the gravity beam hit him, trapping him in place within a gravitational anomaly as he cycled through antigrav shards, trying to negate it's effects.

It wouldn't matter now though.

I pushed ahead with all my power and in his moment of weakness, grabbed him in a bear hug, crushing his projection, till it began to crack at it's seams.

Connecting to the computer one final time, I uttered the command.

"Fire!"

Bolt after bolt shot out of portals, piercing through me and into Scion's body, his real one behind the golden projection that acted as a portal to it, destroying Scion.

Scion for his part thrashed in my arms, his light crashing against my burning halo, causing the flesh blob to burst open as it overloaded with power.

Scion had given up on plans now. He was trying to brute force his way through this, to get to me.

As my halo dimmed, Scion's Stilling tore away the ferro nanite suit, disintegrating it to nothing until he finally came upon the blue energy field, finally meeting match.

We both fell to the ground now, the gravity trap around him making flight unsustainable for him and unnecessary for me.

All I need to do is hold him down till he dies completely.

Realising my intentions, Scion devolved into pure brutality and desperately began to slam into the field.

I didn't sit still either, as I blasted eye lsera into his face at full power like some sort of violent make out session.

I had already switched off my sensation of pain, but I could still feel each and every blow of his crush my internal organs, even with the blue energy field keeping me together and the CodeRed healing as fast as possible.

But Scion was doing more damage than I could heal from, with every punch he threw.

Finally, though, the increasing gravity field became too much for his body to bear, his projection began to break apart and cracks spread along it like spiderwebs, under the crushing force of gravity.

I let go of him, falling to my knees, conciousness running thin and the blue energy field spent.

But Scion wasn't done yet.

With great effort he stood up, his golden form cracking as he took a step, then another.

Scion's legs shattered like a clay pot, his body spilling out streams of golden light as took a third step towards me, i tent on taking me down with him.

This won't do!

I don't intend to die. Not here. Not now.

Not anywhere or ever.

Sure, I had Project Phoenix running a backup, but that's not going to be me.

It will have my memories and personality. But it won't be me!

A damn clone!

I don't want to die and be replaced by a clone!

I thought I was fine with it but no. No I'm not.

I wanna live more, see Star grow up, revive Offee, conquer the multiverse.

So much to do, so many regrets.

No. I will not die!

With one final push, one last breath of life, I flared out my technokinesis once more and connected to the dimension anchor beacon on the street beside me, where String Theory had been sent away and smiled.

"Get fucked Scion!"

I reversed it's polarity once more as a shimmering prismatic field appeared in the lot that Myrrdin had cleared for me.

"You took your sweet time getting me, Boss!" String Theory said, sporting her signature smug grin, and turned the piledriver cannon to Scion.

"As for you goldie!" She said, doing her best Schwarzenegger impression.

"You're fired!"

She pressed the trigger, sending one last bolt into Scion's body, just as he pierced my chest with his hand, liquidating my insides completely.

His own body too tore apart, turning to flakes on golden energy as he disappeared into the wind.
