CHAPTER 10

Her nanaba had warned her that it would come announced but she never thought it would come now. She closed her eyes and began to meditate when she suddenly fell into a slumber. It was like a dream but it felt so real. She saw the back of a woman walking; she looked old from the back considering the silver hair.

She was curious so she followed her for a long time before the woman suddenly stopped and picked a peony flower and turned around. She was surprised that she fell to the ground. She looked exactly like her, how was that even possible?

“Who are you?” she asked the woman.

“I am you and you are me,” she answered her.

“What’s happening here?”

“Take this,” she said giving her the flower and she stood up and took it.

“I’m going to tell you a story, everything is true so pay attention because we don’t have much time,” she said.

She nodded her head in response, she too was curious to find out what was happening so why hurry?

The woman began to tell her a story.

“A very long time ago our ancestor was born, she possessed such great capabilities that made men and kings tremble. She wasn’t an evil person but held a very pure heart so she used those abilities to help her people.

As time passed by, she learnt there was much more she could do and so she did. She got married and gave birth to children but only the female kind would possess the power. Only one girl child would inherit that gift and it happened for many years.

Our kingdom was founded and it was strong until the last seer got killed. Ever since then there haven’t been another seer but there was something the people didn’t know.

The last seer gave birth to a child secretly and gave away that child, so she was raised as a normal child without ever realizing what she possessed and it went on and on until you were born.

Your mother was very unfortunate she died giving birth but your grandmother raised you like her own. She doesn’t possess any powers like you do but she is special in her own kind.

Your people are in great danger and you need to awaken and save them just like your ancestors did. Many people will not understand you and some will even persecute you but you will get to it one way or the other.”

“So, what do I have to do now?” Talia asked.

“I love how you respond, you don’t shirk away from responsibilities,” she praised her.

“I was raised this way,” she answered.

“Good, someone will give you a seven-gem bead bracelet. You must take it and after your first night with the young prince you need to meditate on it and everything will be revealed to you.”

“You mean I should sleep with him?”

“Yes, you must. Your marriage must be consummated or else it won’t be good at all. Forget everything about him and just see a new beginning.”

“So how do I know what I must do?”

“You will realize that you have so many powers that can make anyone bow to you. Your enemies won’t be able to approach you without you knowing but always remember once you fall in love with someone you won’t be able to guess his actions.”

“That’s….”

“It’s time to wake up now, you have arrived,” the woman said and she blew herself away.

She opened her eyes and realized that she was at the hall and the maids were summoning her. She stretched out her hand and got off the carriage.

On her way to the hall she saw her nana dressed fully and looking so beautiful she restrained herself from crying. She walked to the front where Neal was waiting for her. He approached her and took her hand in his and the two went to stand in front of the Priestess.

The Priestess was a much-respected woman who was responsible for all religious and other important activities. They said that she knew everything and she wondered whether that was true or not.

After uniting with Neal, the Priestess began the ceremony. It was tiresome, bowing so many times and even kowtowing too. The whole thing took about an hour before it was done.

Neal put on a long neck chain on her with a ruby pendant as a sign that she was now his wife; it was the sign their ancestors used to show that a woman was married.

The pendant was different; a man could use any gem he wished for the pendant. After the chain, they put a matching silver bracelet on each other and the ceremony concluded with Neal removing the veil of her head.

There was a lot of cheer from those that were present in the hall as well as those that were watching from the huge billboards outside.

After that part they went to give some bows to the King and Queen and wished the two long life and happiness. They gave another bow to the people before getting escorted to change their attire for the next wedding ceremony.

Jane stood beside her as the makeup artists remove the makeup she had on for the traditional wedding. She wore an ivory wedding dress instead of white. It was long and shining due to the numerous diamonds sewn on it.

“You look beautiful your highness,” Jane complimented.

“Thank you,” she said looking at herself in the mirror.

Her hair was pinned nicely behind her back before the diamond tiara on her head.

“It’s time, they are waiting.”

Talia was escorted out of the changing and straight to the hall where she found her nanaba looking gorgeous as always.

“You look beautiful my child,” she said kissing her cheeks.

“Thank you, nanaba.”

“Let’s go inside, a lot of people are waiting.”

“Let’s get this over with.”
