CHAPTER 8

Jackson was filled with so many emotions but everything had to wait until he sees her with his own eyes.

With a smile Jackson returned to the private room, Keaton could see the changes in the man. Something good may have happened to him and it wasn’t his place to ask.

Jackson ordered more drinks; this was a happy day. He just received his greatest birthday gift and it was time to celebrate.

“To happy life!” Jackson made a toast and everyone followed.

What happened next couldn’t be described but they all went home in the wee hours of the next day.

As for Jackson he couldn’t sleep as all he could think about was to just leave for Sparrow city and see the person who had been stuck on his mind for eighteen years.

Encha and her friends; Evie, Aleeza, Ernie and Finn were having a great time in self-study session s it was the last class for the day.

Their head teacher was a very understanding woman who let the students play to their fullest as long as they perform well in their studies. Their class cannot be considered to be the top but it was part of the top five so they had a lot of room to play.

Encha and her friends were busy gossiping under the disguise of having a group study while holding English textbooks reviewing that day’s lesson.

“Are you sure about this Encha?” Finn the only boy in their group asked Enchantia who was all smiles.

“You don’t have to ask her that question even I myself will just agree to it without thinking. Why should she let such a huge opportunity go?” Evie spoke as her face showed much more happiness that the person who is about to get married.

“Come on guys, Finn here is just worried. After all the man who is about to steal Encha here is Keaton. That famous dude!” Aleeza exclaimed while looking at Evie.

“Fine, fine, let the girl speak,” Ernie finally chipped in and all eyes were back at Encha again.

“You know guys, when that bastard proposed I wanted to throw water on his face but I succumbed to his handsomeness. He took my breath away; this poor little girls’ heart was stolen. How can I say no?”

When her friends heard this nonsense, they all laughed earning deadly glares from the head teacher that they all looked back to their books and pretended that they didn’t do anything wrong.

“Come on Encha. Will you be happy and safe with him? You know his standing in the community, right?” Finn was still worried but when he looked at that calm face, he knew that he was just overthinking.

“Guys, I am being serious right now. He won’t hurt me after all he is deep for me, just wait and see,” Encha said to assure her friends that Keaton was a good person and not just tyrannical as what the media proclaim him to be.

Of course, she couldn’t tell them about how she got blackmailed into the marriage first as it didn’t matter to her anymore. If she didn’t want to then she would have refused and just let him go and tell them.

Of course, she knew that he will never do that to her after all the one thing that concerns him was her happiness and her foster family make her very happy. He would be foolish to break her happiness away, something that keeps her sane.

For the next thirty minutes of the self-study class, Encha was busy telling her friends about how Keaton treated her. It’s been quite a few days but he has been very attentive.

That day they became very passionate and kisses, it was her first kiss but she got her lips gnawed on them that they got swollen. He even left some marks on her neck that she had to cover from the eyes of her parents for two days straight.

Keaton didn’t fail her but call her everyday three times a day. He even sent her a slim, waterproof pink phone that was customized for her judging the way it looked.

The phone looks so expensive that she couldn’t dare ask for its original price. Since he was splashing his money on her then she let it be but if it comes to someone else then she will let her wrath for all over him.

Apart from the expensive phone, he was kind enough to send her a gold card that she had been using to buy all kind of delicacies. She wasn’t a person that shows mercy when it comes to free things.

Her friends felt better after listening to her explanations, they could all see that this Keaton was taking care of their friend very well but as for Finn he felt very sour.

He had been in love with Encha for a while but never had the courage to confess and now she was gone. He could never confess his feelings for her in this life. Maybe if he had been more than a coward then the outcome will be a bit different.

He was going to just remain by her side as a friend and watch out for her. Maybe this wasn’t meant to be. He was happy to see that she was happy and doing okay.

After the last class for the day the students were cheering happily and they all left the classroom with their satchels.

Evie was seventeen and came from a middle-class family, both of her parents were primary school teachers and very loving and caring. Evie was the second child and the only girl in the family.

Her family didn’t discriminate between gender so the three of them were treated well and her two brothers are very protective of her. They spoil her and pamper her a lot.

Her older brother in in University doing his second year, in order to be closer to his family he didn’t leave the city but remained there. He also chose to live at home instead of boarding at the campus.

Evie can be considered to be blessed as she has both a loving family and a group of friends that loves and cares for her.

Aleeza is eighteen and the oldest in the group but she is the calmest one among them. It is not a secret within the group that the most impulsive is Enchantia who looks like an angel but a devil at heart.

If they had not seen her doing all kinds of crazy things when they befriended Finn, they would have not found out about her true nature at all but that didn’t stop them from being together.

Aleeza is the oldest in her family and her family is from a low class but that doesn’t stop her from carrying herself well. Her mother is the only reaming parent of the family. She has two more kids who are younger than her and her mother works as a housekeeper in one of the rich family’s house.

While others didn’t want to associate with her Encha didn’t mind. It’s not like, your parents’ job will determine how your future will turn out to be. Aleeza’s mom was busy working hard in order to raise her children, sending them to good schools and providing the best for them. She was very thankful for that and wouldn’t allow anyone to speak ill of her.
