Chapter 9 : A stranger
The story continues with Kipo and Sarah walking on their way to meet with the snake's village, they were stacked on supplies after Sarah traded some things in exchange for food and supplies back in the hamster's village.
As per usual, Kipo was wandering around, discovering new places and new sights, while Sarah was focusing on the road the whole time.
Sarah: Kipo....come here...I think we're getting close.
Kipo: coming!
Kipo then looked at the map that Sarah was holding, she noticed that they were not actually close.
Kipo: wait a minute.... we're not close right?....you just want me to be near you and stop looking around.
Sarah: more like messing around...but yes.... you're correct.
Kipo: aww....look at Sarah....all she needs is company....how cute...
Sarah then rolled her eyes.
Sarah: yeah sure...I just need company.
Kipo: so... what's the plan?
Sarah: huh?
Kipo changed her face to a bit of a disappointed face.
Kipo: you know.... the plan on what to do with the snakes?
Sarah: will I was thinking of some plans....but every plan I make is too risky to do.... we can die there.
Kipo switched to a serious but afraid face and started thinking.
Kipo: hmm.....we need to find a way to attack the snakes....or defend ourselves from them....because once we are in front of their faces...I don't think there is going back.
Sarah: attack them?....are you crazy?!....no we will not attack them.....it's either we defend ourselves from them or run away from them....but we need to observe them for a while....to see how dangerous are they I may have a plan.....but we need some help in it.
Kipo: explain "help".
Sarah: I mean a big number of it..... if we will have to fight a lot of snakes....we will need a lot of help to fight them with us.
Kipo: you mean the village?
Sarah: got any better ideas that don't get us killed?....at least without a fight?
Kipo: that's a terr...
Just before Kipo was about to reply, the two girls heard a loud hissing sound in a distance, they went to check it out as fast as they can.
When they arrived there, they were shocked with what they were looking at, it is another human, with yellow hair, running away from a 15 feet tall snake, the human was running towards the girls, when he reached them he passed them.
The human: RUN!
The girls started running with this human away from the snake, but the snake was faster than them, they had to come up with a plan fast, the human acted quickly after this realization of how much faster the snake is and instructed the two girls to go one to the left and one to the right, but the snake did not stop from chasing the human, the two girls switched their directions to follow the snake, the human saw them in a distance after he led the snake to a small lake.
The human: stop!.... don't come near the water... I know what I'm doing.
The human then jumped in the water causing the snake to follow him in it, but after almost five seconds of silence.
Kipo: snakes can breathe underwater right?
The human came out of the water floating above it, he then put his hands in it and electrocutes it, causing the snake to be caught into the human's trap and dying from an electric strike, the human then landed in front of the two girls leaving Kipo amazed of what she saw.
Kipo: WHAT!! .....did you just do electricity out of your hands?!!
The human chuckled.
The human: yeah I guess I did....we didn't get to introductions.....I'm Zet.
As he reaches his hand to shake hands with Kipo, Sarah then grabs his hand from the wrist and shakes her head as a sign of saying no to Zet.
Zet then removes his hand back after making a surprised but hidden face, he then looks back at Kipo.
Zet: and you are?
Kipo: I'm Kipo....and this is my friend...Sarah.
Sarah then looked at Zet with an angry look on her face....causing Zet to start trying to leave the place as fast as he was able to.
Zet: well.... nice to meet Kipo and Sarah....but I should leave now...I have to find my cape.....I must have dropped it when I was running from this giant snake.....ok...see you later Kipo and.....Sarah.
Zet then left in a hurry by making an excuse to leave Sarah's sight, as she did not look satisfied with him being there.
Kipo then shouted: WAI.....
But as she was about to finish Sarah stopped her from continuing.
Sarah: we should be on our way too Kipo.....we have some things to do too.
Kipo sat there in silence for a couple of seconds as Sarah headed towards the way they were supposed to go to, Kipo then followed her with silence filling her mouth and suspicion all over her mind.
Why did Sarah want him to leave?
Do they know each other?
Sarah has definitely some things to hide, but will she ever share them?
